not to rip on all rob zombies movies but as a big Halloween fan, I can safely say he totally killed the whole Halloween series of movies. his 2nd Halloween with the white glow in the dark unicorn? WTF. his Halloween movies are shit
dude rob zombie is a master mind, idk y ppl all say his movies suck lol, house of 1000 corpses is one of the best horror films ever made, and his remakes of haloween are better then the origanals, fuck u if u dont agree, idc wat u think lol
Hahahaha puke is a good name for you if you think Halloween II is a good movie. It's a wretched piece of shit, staining the landscape of horror cinema and bludgeoning viewers with absurd dialogue and stupid ass plot evolution.
Rob cannot write. it's that simple. He can make a movie look "purty", but he has no idea how to write a complete, unique, original film. He has promise as a director, but he needs to start adapting screenplays.
Huh. I wonder why a couple of Rob Zombie fans seem to have any interest in classic-horror. I mean, Zombie likes nostalgia and kitsch, but his movies couldn't be any more lame and cheap and shoddy. And his mixing genres really bores me. I like horror, he likes way too many other genres - western, sleaze, sex-comedy, exploitation, etc. I'm tired of seeing younger "horror" filmmakers try to combine them all in one movie. I mean- there's one Spider Baby. There'll never be another.
He has a throwback feeling to his films. I'm a horror fan period, not just Universal (which is my favorite). I appreciate his enthusiasm and his homages, and I like the seventies feel of his films. "House of 1,000 Corpses" has scenes from classic horror films throughout. I'm not a HUGE Rob Zombie fan anyway, I just like some of his stuff. And I do find even the flaws of his films to be fascinating.
I think Rob Zombie is intellectually challenged as a writer. All he knows how to write is White Trash. And I don't happen to think his films feel like the seventies at all. And, I'm sorry because this might sound insulting to you but I have to be honest... To see anyone say his films do, it's kind of like you've never seen a film from the 70's before.
Zombie wouldn't get to make his films if they weren't as vulgar as the American Pie type sex comedies of the time he started directing features. His style is trendy and doesn't fit in with the 1970's at all. His grittiness reeks of today's wannabe horror brat directors. And his dialogue belongs in an American Pie film made with white trash kids rather than upper class rich kids.
Nah, it had nothing to do with 'American Pie". Heck, his first movie was shot down by Universal, the home of that goofy 1999 sex comedy. But again, it's truly out of place here. This is not a short film about how much I love Rob Zombie's films or art.
Again - accepted. But the more you talk about him, the more I have to answer back. But my point was (just to clarify) - Zombie's movies are all joking around and dialogue.
I know Universal shot him down. I've seen the Going to Pieces documentary. Actually, any director of that time will tell you the reason why is that they only wanted movies like The Sixth Sense and Blair Witch Project - those were all the rage back then.
LOL, well of course that's insulting, and kinda irrelevant. There's a grime to his films that are a throwback in this age of shiny CGI ghost kids and crap. You disagree, cool. I'm not the world's biggest Rob Zombie fan in the first place, so your appalled reaction is ultimately out of place here, anyway. My film isn't really even about him.
Okay - accepted. But I really hate the bones people are throwing him just because of a little grime. Yeah the 70's had that. But they also had intelligence and were trying to break ground. Zombie isn't just a throwback, he's a digression in terms of everything that gives a horror film integrity. It's possible to be grimy, smart, and horrific at the same time. And I personally agree that ghost films are pretty bad, I've never been a fan of them. But Zombie's films are no better at all.
Fair enough. Definitely respect your opinion and the fact that you didn't just drop in with a few lines and run off, and that you were reasonable with your responses. Pretty cool.

Thanks for understanding.
Good luck with everything. You do know a lot more about the classic era of horror than I do.

Thanks, good luck to you too! And for the record, I can't defend Rob Zombie's latest excursion...H2 was a wretched film. :)

This is excellent. Funny, good dialogue, creative, great pacing, good editing.
Plus, there is this one real good looking guy in the drive-in montage.
