Beautiful rendition of Grand Isle! Thank you for sharing your talent! I should look around to see if you have posted "I was there to hear your Borning Cry"
Beautiful! It brought tears to my eyes too! Reminds me so much of my childhood church home in the Episcopal church. Thank you so much for posting this!
This takes me back to my days in Sunday School. All of us children had our own mass to attend. And this was one of the lovely songs we would sing on Sunday mornings
Hearing this song in the Episcopal Church as a teenager stuck with me and helped me to realize that I want to become a saint. I have no regrets about becoming a Catholic, but I miss Anglican hymnody. The narcissistic "hymns" of the most popular Catholic hymnals, from Oregon Catholic Press, sound like 70's television commercials. When will the hippies hang up their guitars?
Our Sunday school children will sing this at the main service in church on All Saints Day. I'm referring this clip to parents so they can help their kids practice at home! Thank you for sharing!
I grew up in the Episcopal church. Before my grandfather passed away in 1973, he chose this hymn to be played for his grandchildren at his funeral. Every time I hear this, it brings great tears of joy as I think of the love my grandfather had for us all. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!
This hymn has even for signifiance for me. I can't detail it all, but, I have taken the Scott/Brown book of the hymn to church every service for a decade. Also, since finding this on You Tube in November, I play it every Sunday morning prior to leaving.
This actually brought tears to my eyes, I grew up in the Anglican CHurch and loved this hymn on All SAints Day as it was fun....thanks for the lovely memory, oh how I miss this kind of hymn
Your welcome - That is why I wanted to post these Hymns, so many never get to hear them anymore, I grew up in the Anglican Church also and I love these Hymns. Tears of Joy are a good thing - Blessings to you †
Great tune! It's been a while since I heard some good hymns on an organ.
For some reason, I only get the clear stereo sound when adding the &fmt=18 to the end of the URL, even though I'm set up to play high quality by default.

This hymn always makes me tear up -- its so pure and genuine. If C.S. Lewis were to write a hymn -- it would probably be very much like this : )

This is played perfectly. I so want to hear it sung because I remember it from 50 years ago in St. Judes Episcopal Church.

Wonderful! Now, I'll be really impressed if you can do #196 from the hymnal of 1982!

Thanks - not sure what hymn that would be, I have 13 hymnals ! I would need a hymn tune.

I don't have the hymnal with me, but I know it's out of the Episcopalian Hymnal. I will find out.

Please forgive me for being 'pretentious'.. but if you have never heard the words, you miss much of the hymn
"I sing a song of the saints of God,
patient and brave and true,
who toiled and fought and lived and died
for the Lord they loved and knew.
And one was a doctor, and one was a queen,
and one was a shepherdess on the green;
they were all of them saints of God, and I mean,
God helping, to be one too.
