  • you are off your HEAD!!!!

  • As most comments confirm, i agree on Don & Glenn, Money is all they know.. Don didn't only took a stand with the book for himself, but also for Bernie, Randy and his wife who is kinda an eagle too. Now i'm very dissapointed in Timothy And Joe, If they where any kind of friend, they would have left the eagles too, but i guess money got to them too... Don is a guitarplayer that changed the history of music a great guy and great guitarplayer !

  • she's hot

  • What a Nice Guy. I think he is now the Happiest of all The Eagles.

  • I have not read Don's book but I definitely want to.I have to say though I find this discussion refreshing. Most of the comments here seem to be by intelligent people that actually know what they are talking about. All too often on Youtube videos I see comments written by people that don't have a clue about the subject. They often make generic boring statements that in no way contribute to the discussion.I wish all Youtube discussions were this interesting

  • Has Don Felder made a guitar instruction video? He just seam to be a great musician and a nice guy. If he has, I buy it right on.

  • They wouldn't let me say this on the Monster Cable - Don Felder interview:

I restrung my guitar with Monster Cable and it still sounds like crap. Now I only Monster Cable for floorlamps and air conditioners.

  • I've just read the Felder book again, and although you're only hearing one side of the story IMHO it does ring true. It's interesting that although Felder has put a pretty devastating picture of Henley and Frey etc in the public domain, as far as I'm aware no one has seriously challenged its accuracy.

  • diaws99 the fact that you drove around his neighborhood and the baseball park might qualify you as a deranged stalker. i suggest not trying to "meet this guy sometime".You might find yourself in Police custody.Millionaires have a lot of clout in California a 'fan' is just a nuisance to Don. Read it in his book. Happy Don finally cut his hair, why look like a hippy when you are so concerned about money. In the end Felder seems to think that Henley and Fry were traitors to an ideal. WTF?

  • Felder is a talented musician and an excellent guitarist. Yes, he wrote the music to "Hotel California", but it was the incredible genuis of Don Henley that turned it into the song so many know and love today. Without Henley's input, it's basically an esoteric guitar jam. Felder admits as much in the book. The Eagles existed before Felder, and some feel that they did their best work in that period. While Felder may not technically have been a hired hand after he joined, that was his defacto role

  • that whole Felder Eagles thing is a big ball of lint!

  • That is one hot chick!

  • Let me enlighten you my friend. Frey and Henley always insisted on listening to the music tapes and ideas of other band members beofre they declared their musical ideas to others. I interpret to mean that they controlled and probably derived some of their musical ideas off other members of the group before deciding that their (Frey & Henley)musical ideas were better. Also if Don Felder was in the wrong why did Henley & Frey settle the lawsuit out of court?

  • I think almost all rockers are pampered whiners, but he didn't just write the arrangements/melody to HC. He also co-wrote a few others: "Those Shoes" , "Victim Of Love" & "Disco Strangler".

He also brought "Already Gone" alive with his riff & lead work. He also had a contract that made him an equal member. To me, his biggest mistake was going along with the change in royalties. He should have sued then. Was he the most important member? No. But he played a major role in their success.

  • @kirbygene i agree...what he did as a member of the eagles was a miracle..

  • @Hunkola.

I'm with you 100% there man.

  • whats the book called? sounds interesting.

  • Don Felder has always been a class act........which disgusts me even more about the uncontrolled greed exhibited by Don Henley and Glenn Frey........I will never look at those two assholes the same way again after reading Felder's book..........I hope they rot in Hell.......they cant their precious money with them!

  • My uncles friend was The Eagles tour manager in the 70's, he said that Felder was a great guy and that Frey and Henley were the difficult ones. He is fun to talk to and is still bitter about being fired while on the road. A lot of heavy drugs in the 70's...

  • Also, Henley and Frey made me remove some of my Eagles clips. Pricks. Don Felder is a class act in more ways than one. He just emailed me on facebook and I was ecstatic. He was always my favorite Eagle and tonight he proved it. He, Bernie Leadon, Randy Meisner were the best. I also like Joe Walsh and Timothy B Schmit are the true spirit of The Eagles. Henley and Frey can have Steuart Smith and his country picking ass. God bless Felder and damn Henley and Frey to Hell.

  • @floydgenesisnut AMEN BUDDY!

  • How people don't understand how drugs affected them is easy if you have sleep apnea. Sleep deprivation, being exhausted then using drugs to replace sleep to renew energy over and over can cause volumes of rage. Years of this can really distort attitudes. While the drugs do work and cause some creativity they run their course and bite the hand that they feeding.

  • Thanks for posting this. I enjoyed his book and sure, while it is 'just' his side of the story, he has told it well and has, in effect, called out Don and Glen to respond with books of their own. And one has to give Don Felder credit for working hard to become the musician he did--he had definitely paid his dues when he got the invite to join the Eagles.

  • Don't get why he can't get back together with Joe Walsh...that would be interesting to see and hear.

  • I don't get it either, they must have something against each other, I heard that Henley and Frey prohibited Tim and Joe to talk to Felder. but who knows

  • just read the book. he should have called it (whining for dollars)or (how henley and frey helped make me a millionare) or (I should have kept my mouth shut and signed the papers)

  • or he should of written, jackman is a fucking stupid ignorant who doesn't understand what really happened in that band even when it's written in a book, what a dumb ass!

  • agreed jackman!!! schizo you are talking bllx again.

  • The Book is GREAT.

  • I just finished the book (Henley and Frey can't be too thrilled about having this out there). It's a fast read and a great cautionary tale of the perils of way too much money and virtually no external constraints. It's also a fascinating look at the musical creative process, Eagles style. They may have done a lot of stupid, childish stuff, but it's hard to deny their talent and work ethic. What I'd like to see now is the other side of the story as told by Henley -- the best writer in the band.

  • If he was honest about it, I'd also love a book by Henley. As you say "his side" would be interesting. From what tiny bits of information that Henley admits, he felt enormous pressure to keep creating and this, along with the drugs (which to me is used as an excuse too often with people) , caused most of the tension within the band,

  • @ericynot: Agreed. I also just finished the book. Henley and Frey cannot be happy about their behind-the-scenes behavior being exposed. Two brilliant, gifted musicians who happen to also not be very good human beings. It is a cautionary tale of how greed, power and control corrupt and lead people to do despicable things. I would also be interested in Henley's account, but I found Felder's account absolutely credible. I also respect the fact that he fought for his rights.

  • Would like to meet this guy some time...Every time I drive down the coast from San Francisco to LA and I go through Malibu, there's this cool Little League Baseball park just up the hill from Pepperdine on a bluff overlooking the ocean that I was amazed to discover Don was insturmental in it's creation.

  • What a gentleman he is!

  • his book is a great read and very fair.

  • Thanks for share this video, Don is the best!!!
