You know, I've seen quite few old movies in special screenings in my hometown. And, some of them were fun, like Jaws, Raiders of the Lost Ark, The Godfather, Back to the Future and especially Monty Python and the Holy Grail. Some have been really big disappointments. I'm talking about classics that I thought would never get old or boring.

After the two special screenings of T2, I can honestly say that this masterpiece has aged as well - if not better than - The Godfather.

I know, it's mainly to do with the fact that films today have a hard time matching the quality of the films of the past. Ever since the year 2,000, things have taken a turn for the worst. Even the music industry changed from this point. Great artists like Queen, Elvis, Madonna, Beatles and Michael Jackson will always be remembered, but now we have to put up with people like Justin Bieber, Katy Perry, Lady Gaga etc. And we have to put up with films like Twilight, 2012, Transformers etc. AVERAGE

But, Laura Dern was nominated for her lame performance in Rambling Rose. It's great to see her naked, but that's it. Susan Surandon and Geena Davis were nominated for Thelma & Louise. I guess the Academy thought they portrayed better strong women or something. And I think Bette Midler was nominated for For The Boys. Answer: YUCK.
