Hello is this computer new for $1350 a good deal? I just bought this on ebay new sealed for $1350 - 1.86GhZ, 128GB SSD drive REV B. Have you had any problems with it at all?
I used to have the new macbook pro, it kinda sucked, i traded it for a 2 year old macbook air and this runs a lot better than the pro did. my question is, can you recommend a fun game that can be played without the drive attached? I am looking for something like virtual drive like i used on my netbook
For High Performance Apps - an SSD in the Air is an absolute must.
I'm running the Rev.B 1.6GHz, 9400M & 120GB 4,200RPM Hard Drive and whilst general use such as Photoshop, Remote Desktop, Server Admin, WGM, QuarkXpress, iMovie etc are all fine and can all run simultaneously - thing's that cause the read and write ratio to go up really bog it down.
Still, incredible machine and one that put's all Atom-based notebooks to shame.
since you mentioned atom based netbooks i had to comment, lol. i had the new macbook pro a few weeks ago, and it sucked compared to my acer netbook, no joke. so i traded the brand new pro for a 2 year old macbook air, and i could not be happier.
i can't explain why, but the macbook air runs everything better than the macbook pro did, no joke
1 question idk if i will use up too many gb. all i do is web surf a little music some videos and a little call of duty also little other minor things. is 128 gb enough for me? also is it enough for u?
Call of Duty 4 was installed on my Air two months ago - it ran pretty smoothly, almost no lag unless there were huge gun fights with a ton of soldiers. I eventually uninstalled it because the game wasn't too interesting to me :)
The Sims 3 is a great game, and it runs great on MacBook Air. Even though you must load the entire neighborhood, the Air handles it neatly - I'm unsure if the solid-state drive in my notebook adds to performance of Sims 3, compared to the base-model hard drive.
Sure - a full charge provides a pretty neat 3 to 4.5 hour charge (going from highest brightness and wifi to mid-brightness and no-wifi).
THe only concern is with the charging times themselves. This usually takes about 3 to 4 hours too because of the smaller, less needy MagSafe adapter.
Remember, the battery in the Air is located at its thinnest point. The battery takes up two thirds of the machine too, so the next revision will probably have a similar battery up-time - unless Apple can use a special technology inside it.
How do you get uprising on the mac??!??!!

Yes. I was replying to phelikz who was asking if it's a big enough difference.

bullshit, it's already free.

Is this sped up? I timed it on my phone, and it seems as if it's off by about 15 seconds per minute. If so, it would also explain the sound lag.

Is that the processor useage up there? Seems like even something simple like opening safari maxes it out, or is that because of the recording app?

128GB is a good size for what you're doing
:)

Wow! I'm shocked to know that MacBook Air can even played Red Alert 3 smoothly? Is it under max detail?

Will you do a Call of duty 4 test on it?

Hey, could you by any chance report the battery time on the 128GB SSD under general and heavy usage?

Man, I would've easily gone for it if it wasn't for the battery life. You can't have such a portable machine and only max out at 3-4 hours.
Guess I'll have to wait around for its next incarnation.
