  • i take this train everyday

  • Cool!

  • @poppaz718 This train leads into Castle Hill right? I think I took this train from Manhattan to Bronx and got off at Castle Hill Ave.

  • @AlwonDomz Yeah it does go to Catsle Hill ave.

  • MY aunt and uncle once lived on Colgate Avenue many years ago (1960s) I find it so odd to see their house as the train passes by. I can see the spot where my cousins and I played. Wow, what a nice memory this clip bought back! Thanks for posting it.

  • Glad you enjoyed the vid!

  • @JamaicaQnzFreak i was raise in 1160 evrgreen ave in the 90s and the start of the millenium aint to much changed. i miss home though.

  • LOL!

  • what's wrong at 0:01?

  • Nothing is wrong....it just starts like that!

  • okay fine!

  • isn't hunts point dangerous?

  • No.....haven't heard anything bad about Hunts Point in yrs.....it maybe dangerous for the hookers if they still roam there!

  • oh so your from NYC? what parts of it are really dangerous? is it rough and ghetto in some parts? i want to move to brooklyn some day

  • Yes I'm from New York City and there are no dangerous or ghetto parts, just bad ppl that make certains sections of the boroughs look bad!

  • yeah, seems like a safe city to live in. what if i moved into a public housing unit, would it be dangerous if i just minded my own business? and you can't tell me their is no run down parts of the city?

  • I'm @ my friends house in the projects in Brooklyn and no one have bothered me not one bit and I mind my business....I know some ppl over here. There are no more run down parts in the City....this isn't the 70's or 80's anymore!

  • yeah, i have seen a lot of videos of brooklyn and NYC. it really looks like a good city to live in! cleanest big city i ever seen! i would much rather move their now then say 20 or 30 years ago

  • Okay cool!

  • For all the times that I rode back and forth on the 6, I can't help but think how great the feeling was. Thanks for the flashback.

  • Your welcome...anytime :)!

  • awesome!

  • Thanks!

  • slow train that day

  • Eh not really.....they were doing construction on the Pelham Bay Park bound side and it was track workers there so the train have to be slow!

  • Some what!

  • yes i wanted to watch this 1

  • Ok cool!

  • i took the 6 almost everday through high school. Soundview waddup!!!

  • Thats wassup. What high school you went to?

  • Cardinal Spellman H.S.

  • Oh ok....I went 2 Stevenson HS!

  • yeah, my mom was tha first graduating class from that school when it first opened.

  • Wow....that's cool. I never like that school!

  • yeah, it was better in her day but now its not to good

  • Oh tell me about it, I was not happy @ that school!

  • You went to Stevo? So did I. Graduated in 89

  • Yes I did....I didn't graduate from there though!

  • There's no question that one could have a nice time at the park but I promise you, back in the day, it was nothing like it is now. The AREA AS A WHOLE has a denoted increase in crime in every category. As a 10 year veteran of the NYPD and having lived there from age 3 to 27 & left in 95/96. You have no idea of the transformation. P-CHESTER went from the nicest of communities to drug dealers heaven!

    Please believe it!

  • These were the days. Step Ins, $3 movies at the Palace and Circle theaters, great pizza shops, the loews, City Island sharing your food with the seaguls who used to beat you up for your food at the end of the strip, Pelham Bay park... especially before the criminals took the joint over!

  • LMAOOO@the criminals taking over Pelham Bay Park. I only been to the park once and I had a great time. I don't think I've been to City Island yet!

  • Visit your neighborhood website:

    parkchesterinfo . com

  • I used to take this line to elder avenue, then walk to watson avenue. Boy, I miss those days.

  • Aww....don't worry I feel the same way. I used to get off @ Parkchester from the Pelham Bay Park bound 6 express train and walk to the Bx39. Now I live in Jamaica, Queens which is alright for now!

  • I lived in the bronx for 26 years, then for the next 10 I lived out in Jamaica, Queens where I took the E-train from 53rd & Lex to Parsons-Archer stop, then took either the 111 bus or the 113. Then I moved to Georgia. N.Y. Transportation is the best.

  • Hahahaha....I live near the Q111 and Q113 off Farmers and Guy R. Brewwr Blvds....the Q113 is Limited now and runs 24 hours to/from Far Rockaway. The farthest I've been in New York State is Walker Valley, New York. I love the transportation in New York City, I just don't like the raising of the fares!

  • I agree on the fares, but look on the bright side. The govenor put a hold on the fares, so you are still at $2.

  • Yeah that's true, but the communter trains (Long Island Rail Road and Metro-North Rail Road) and Metro-Cards will be raised!

  • yeah i got to parkchester on tha 6 then took the bx 39 all the way to clason point, i still do sometimes

  • I used to take that bus and get off @ either White Plains Road and Lacombe Avenue or White Plains Road and Paterson Avenue!

  • thx for uploading

  • Your welcome!

  • Thats the most ppl i ever seen standing @ whitlock av

  • Yeah I noticed that also. When the train pulled into Parkchester it had mad people standing there!

  • lol, true.

  • I miss the Bronx :-(! Parkchester is the stop I would get off from the Pelham Bay Park bound 6 express and get on the Bx39!

  • great video

  • Thank you!

  • wow u recorded all three lexington trains (4,5,6)in the bronx, great work, so it looks like there is construction going on all three (4,5,6)

  • Thank you! Oh yes....I made sure I had time to record the express service for the Bronx along the Lexington Avenue Lines and trust me it was all worth it!

  • so this you going back from, City hall station? and i thought the 6 was elevated cause i could have sworn i saw a 6 train on an elevated line.

hmm, maybe it was the 2 or the 4, i know it couldn't have been the 7, lol

  • I was coming from 125th Street and you saw a 6 train approaching Whitlock Avenue. The City Hall tour was hours ago, but i couldn't go to that one!

  • yeah the 6 is elevated but only in the bronx. the 1/2/4/5/6 are all elevated in the bronx also.

  • Yeah but its elevated from Whitlock Avenue to Pelham Bay Park!

  • i know that but i was telling the other guy that he probaly did see the 6 train elevated

  • Oppsss...oh ok....lol!
