Memories. Man, seems like yesterday they released this video at the party in B-more! Can't remember the bar name but I remember kicking back with some cold ones and watching the cool video. Like many others, I am surprised this band didn't roll on. Loved the All-Star jams when Kyf would take the stage along side D. Bogart and C. Filipiak. The Conte brothers looked every bit the part. Great music years and shit load of fun.
By any chance did this band take their name from the movie of the same name. Just wondering since I have never heard of the group. The movie is a classic though.
frankie was one my dearest friends as well. we met through a mutual friend in the business and he always believed in me. his vision of the wolves was exactly what we put together, and we wouldn't have had such an easy task of being recognised without him at the helm. i miss him all the time. he was a character and one of a kind.
my dear old friend/drummer Frankie La Rocka, it was his band, he found the Conte bros.and put band together, also played on first Scandal record, John Waite, years in David Johannsen's band, went to high school with him in Staten Island. This was a great band, he become a a/r guy at c.b.s, signed the band with Pocket ful of Kryptonite...he died of a heart attack a few years back, not even a line in tribute...miss ya Frankie..you were lovely and fine drummer...R.I.P. my friend...
I saw this band in Los Angeles back in the day. In my opinion, they should have been HUGE! This song should have been a MONSTER hit because it is a MONSTER song with MONSTER hook !! They were great live too.
Awsome to see a video of them I have one of their cd's but cant really find anywhere that knows about them, found their cd over seas and do like them they kick but
I'm hearing this song in the stero of my car and I really loved to see this nice band video: MR: Kyf I wish you a lot of good luck from Spain (yes you had fans that far aswell, I keep your vynil as a jewel!!!)
I was the recording & playback sound engineer on this shoot. I have to say that the band were very nice chaps and the most unassuming of American rockers. I was absolutely frozen and got lockjaw - it was November - the tape heads on the playback Nagra froze and had to be kept going with a hair-dryer. Aside from that, some of the locals pinched some of the back-line kit - cheers guys. The wolves were but large and very soppy Alsatians in grey make-up powder. Great memories some 21 years later.
@VickersDoorter - ha! it was the middle of december, bro! no wonder you were cold. but what a great time we had. yes the dogs were tervurans (belgian shepherds) as i remember. lovely critters but they didn't like that make-up. we turned that town on its ass for a night and had a great time at the bar and the hotel afterward. what ya been up to since?
haha cant believe i found this video!!! i love this song, infact the whole album was amazing!! i bought it years ago on cassette haha an still have it!!! does anyone know where i can get it on cd or download?? im from edinburgh and was wondering if they made the gig haha??
That's to cool. I don't want to be loved and the ballad at the end. That acoustic tone of his. She's everybodies baby. I know Cry of love came after them, imagine seeing both of those bands on the same stage?
oh they are a band I thought it was something to do with the film Company of wolves sorry i'm not watching what I thought I was watching and I'm not happy about it!
This isn't Company of Wolves but American Werewolf in London - wrong film folks and one is American shite the other is atmospheric Brit movie guess which is which?
Always thought this album rocked and rocked hard....bought the other 2 company of wolves albums from your site....If you and the Conte's ever do a reunion in baltimore (my hometown) please post or email me in jacksonville florida. I would definitely go home to see that show!!
That's the first time I've seen that video. It is filmed at Doune Castle(of Monty Python and the Holy Grail fame)which is in my village of Doune. I remember when the video was filmed, it was a really surreal night where everybody saw strobing lights coming from the castle and there was this band that nobody had ever heard of or has heard of since.
By the look of this video, Its obvious these guys were definitely planning on being huge stars, it almost happned for em. Oh well, thats rock and roll
Thank you so much for posting this, I was 20 years old , in college, went to a record store, near campus, they were playinfg this when I went inside, had to get it. I havent heard this in like 15 years, didnt know they had a video for this. Brings back major meories.
