  • Nice gold top with a bucker and P-90!

  • @WhiteNacho Hi, thanks. actually it's a Dimarzio Super Distortion 100 in soapbar format. Really old pickup, over 30 years.

  • Wow, this was really, really good! I love my ebow, but I want that gold Les Paul Deluxe!!

  • What a weird but interesting gadget....:)

  • Reminds me very strongly of Alex Lifeson, tonally. Interesting.

  • love your guitar

  • Finaly someone that can use it!

  • How does the ebow work?

Do you just set it on the strings and pick with the fret hand?

  • @duhzzzz Works on the principle of magnetism, probably 2 magnets creating a magnetic field which makes the string vibrate. You don't need to pick at all, just place it over the string you want to hear.

  • @Hv358 it's just an amplifier...

Works exactly the same like when you get feedback through a microphone from a speaker, except here it's done deliberately and since the string will only vibrate on certain frequencies, it will sustain the note instead of producing that annoying squealing sound...

  • i have a Q...Is there difference between Ebow with blue light and Ebow with red light???

  • @12alzbet12 The one with the red light is an older model. They are black now with blue light and an on/off switch.

  • @Hv358 thanks ;)

  • when everything but us is dead

  • VERY cool! What pickup is that in the bridge?

  • @SrDeMaFp That's a Dimarzio Super Distortion 100 in soapbar format. Really old pickup, over 30 years. After removing the pickup covers and the original mini humbucker, this would fit right in without the use of a saw. Not that I would ever use one on this axe. ;)

  • Man, good use of Modulation effects!!!! And of course, very good ebow skills.

  • wow, i would say that qualifies as MARVELOUS, and a new favorite. I just ordered the ebow and can't wait until it arrives, until then, i'll listen to this magic...

  • it sounds really good

  • Oh man!!! what an awesome sound- killer tone!!!! thanks for this post!

  • Like the whale noises. Acid heads will love this

  • 1:07 WTF is that sound? really interested in knowing.

  • finally someone who knows how to use it

  • that a sickk guitar dude

  • well after watching 10 ebow videos, this one being the 'best one', i have determined this product to be absolutely retarded and pointless. the same can easily be done on a stratocaster using volume swells.

  • @sillydillydokieo This is one of the best, I like it, but you should watch "Sunderland" by Luca Colombo, the soundscape he creates is absolutely amazing...

  • Beautiful!!

  • Dolphins taste fucking delicious!

  • What's your setup? I think your tone tone is amazing!

  • seems useless like you dont really need it

  • That's fantastic.I been mucking around with the guitar for a few years now but still can't do much more than some single note tunes but I've got an ebow today for Xmas.adds a whole new dimension to what little I can do.it's awesome.great tune by the way!!cheers

  • nice good shit

  • Nice!

  • Fantastic! Sounds similar to Andrew Latimer from Camel's style.

  • @jaypea64 I do have Camel albums in my collection, Snowgoose is a great record which I still listen to, from time to time.

  • Could the EBow be permanently installed under the strings, beteween pickups? If so it would make for an alternative to The Fernandes Kit which can only be installed on some guitars...

  • @A48289 Nope it can't sorry. look up sustaining pickup and check those out!

  • That...Was pretty freaking awesome. Well done Hv358, I believe you may have just made up my mind about getting one of those gadgets!

  • Doesn't this music just want to make you go out and riot..

  • F*ck whales.

    Humans first, animals second.

  • @Ghostman7777 and you 3rd

  • @MagneticStratocaster

Sounds like someone is getting a little angry. ;)

Seriously, anyone that puts animals above humans is an incredibly stupid person.

  • @Ghostman7777 insults are not necessary ... but if you want to talk about incredibly stupid person, I think it's incredibly stupid to kill some animals for nothing

  • @MagneticStratocaster

Well that is just you, and I wasn't insulting you. I was insulting stupid people that wouldn't think twice about saving the life of a baby chipmunk over a baby human.

And how is killing whales not necessary?

Commercial whaling these days is mainly done for producing food for lesser developed countries, and I don't know a bout you... but whales seem to produce ALOT of food.

  • @Ghostman7777 When I said some animals, i wasn't espacially speaking about whales. I think there's a difference between being against killing whales until there's no more whales at all and "stupid people that wouldn't think twice about saving the life of a baby chipmunk over a baby human", just try to see the difference. Commercial whaling for lesser developed contries ? Ok, and after whales, who's next ? Do you know how much animals have already disappeared because of humans ?

  • @MagneticStratocaster Yes actually I do know how many animals have become extinct, and I can care less. Most hunting is done in moderation and is done so as to keep population down. Whaling is done in moderation as well (unless you are one of those modern pirates who do it just for fun) so they are in no danger of becoming extinct. This whole "Save the Whales" campaign is ridiculous, just like all other anti-hunting campaigns.

  • @Ghostman7777 I just think this is not the good way to help

  • @Ghostman7777 Quote: "Commercial whaling these days is mainly done for producing food for lesser developed countries" Thats crap, most demand for whale meat comes from Japan and Korea. Lesser developed countries simply can't afford it. I dont mind people killing a whale when they are hungry, as long as it is neccesary and done with respect to the animal. But some whale species were or are very close to extinction due to commercial whaling and "disguised" hunting like scientific whaling.

  • @Hv358 Yes Japan and Korea whales are also whaling, but Japan and Korea also have huge populations, and yes underdeveloped countries such as Indonesia and Bequia are huge contributors to whaling.

Also it is impossible to tell whether or not whale species are close to being extinct because the ocean has (and probably never will be) not been fully explored, so therefore an accurate census of whale populations would be impossible to determine, so that argument is invalid.

  • Please answer me mate, i have found out my old one its the orginal with chrome plated plastic and the red light without an on-off switch, are these worth anything ? CAN ANYONE ANSWER ME?!

  • @21callum21 No idea, if they are worth something. I still have to buy the new model to find out how and what they changed, if anything, tonewise. I expect the new model to be more easier then the old chrome plated models, though. Anyone else got some input?

  • OMG! This is great! You need a Fernandez sustainer, bro!

Check out my first song that auto plays on my site, DavidBruceMusic . com

Its a Steinway and a PRS with an E-Bow.

  • @Hv358 not til theyre all DEAD MUAH HUAH MUAH HUAH

  • Excellent!

  • Amazing!

  • Amazing!!

  • u got it

  • I just really like the way this sounds. Very good demo!

  • great!!! 5 stars

  • OMG this was amazing.

  • oooh sounds very dreamy and beautiful... seems to be a really cool tool!

  • this sounds like it should be in the next star ocean. haha. neat.

  • I agree.. I've always liked the sound tracks for star ocean, this would fit right in.

  • watch ERKAN OGUR E BOW..

  • Seems like you could kinda get some of the same effects doing volume swells.

  • How? The ebow has the unlimited sustain, and chello/violin sound.

  • Besides sustain you can get the same violin like sound.

  • true, but you wouldn't be able to get a sustain like that

  • watch Phil Keaggy ebow

  • Hmmm... It seems to handle string bends rather badly...

  • Think the new model wont have this flaw because it can be always on (it has an on/off switch). Mine is one of the first models, doesnt have an on/off switch, and will switch off if there isnt any string motion.

  • Wow!

    Really amazing!

  • Could anyone tell me, can I use eBow for a chords or just one string at a time?

    Thanks for answer.

  • of course you can

  • No, one string at a time.

  • Amasin!

  • nice

  • AMAZING!!!!

  • Nice ambient!

  • What is the bridge pickup?

  • Thats a very old Dimarzio DS100 (Super Distortion, Dual Sound) in soapbar format. Fitted right in without using a saw (phew)

  • you sound like alex lifeson :D

  • Amazing! Great work

sounds like the soundtrack of some sci-fi video game

  • great stuff man

  • groovy stuff man!!! what effects are you using all? sounds like that jeff beck Robin Trower tone.

  • Was made with Guitarrig SE, with Chorus, Quad Delay, a bit of Tube Screamer. Added an effect from Ableton Live, called Crystal Reverb.

  • Did you make this song up, or is it a cover?

    If cover, by who?

  • No cover, my own composition.

  • For a more subtle approach of using the ebow, check out my latest clip, an improvisation on Pink Floyds Marooned.

  • Excellent! What are you using for the shimmer effect?

  • It's an effect I added with Ableton Live!, it's called Crystal Reverb. Thanks for listening, good ears!

  • Ok..I have that program but never used it.

I know about shimmer because I play a lot of U2 and the Edge uses it on a lot of tracks. I use the Verbzilla pedal on the Octo setting for that.

  • did the original song have an ebow on it

  • kind of a weird device. sounds great, just kinda weird.

"All of this machinery making mordern music" - Rush

  • which Rush?

  • Rush, Rush. from the song the "Spirit of Radio". just a good little one liner.

  • awesome song

  • This is fantastic. Very atmospheric. Great depth. It sounds like it should be a thyme tune to a detective series on TV.

  • Hey man exactly what does the ebow do to get such amazing sustain?

  • The E in Ebow is short for Energy. Says it creates an energy field which sets the strings in motion. Not sure how exactly how it does this but it might just as well be the light.

  • This sounds so amazing!!

  • brilliant

  • Great song. It sounds a lot like Porcupine Tree. And it's cool to see the eBow in action. I'm just finding out about the eBow, and it looks like a really cool little gizmo. Thanks.

  • Nice song and well played!

  • don't like how it takes time to get the string going.

  • is that a true gibson les paul, or some type of copy?

    Is it the slash model?

  • It's a real Gibson Les Paul Deluxe Goldtop from 1976. (did mod the bridge pickup to a Dimarzio Super Distortion 100)

  • Sweet Sounds from that setup!

  • Thanks!

  • Great work!

I have an Ebow and a GuitarPort UX1 and I didn't know that Guitar Rig would work with it?

So, do you still use the Guitar Rig pedal?

    Thanks

  • Hi, yours is called Toneport I believe, but I think it works just like a Guitarport. If your Toneport works with Gearbox it will work with Guitar Rig. Toneport and Guitarport are just means to bring your guitar-signal to your PC, they contain no modelling hardware. The GT-10 rendered Guitar Rig and the Guitarport useless so I am not using those anymore. That UX1 would still be useful though, as you can get a mic and record your amp with it.

  • Thanks for the info..but is it possible to just get the Guitar Rig software without the hardware?

  • Version 3.0 SE is software only. You can download a limited (30 min session) demo from the guitar rig site.

  • Love your style and playing! What is your setup? Please respond. I actually signed up on youtube just to find out.

  • Setup is guitar connected to pc with Line6 Guitarport (USB), software used was Guitar Rig 3.0. So, pretty much all software based. I made the backing track with Ezdrummer and instruments in Ableton Live. Guitar is a LP Deluxe Goldtop from 1979. Thanks for commenting, much appreciated.

  • that was awesome

  • Thanks for the comment!
