The reason she was brought on the programme was to shed light on the concerns she and people like her had. The purpose of the show is not to simply portray people and their views. However, there are plenty of those programmes as well.

She DOES have health insurance. The ONLY way you can have an HSA is if you have Insurance thru an HMO; the Govt doesn't allow you to have an HSA otherwise.
An HSA you contribute into on an annual basis-- the amt you contribute is deductible from your taxes & the amt rolls over from yr to yr. The Govt sets the amt for how much an individ/family can give to their HSA per annum.
Until the Abrams spend 5G's this yr for medical expenses they'll pay using $ in their HSA, then insurance kicks in.

The Dentist, Doctors will charge the Insurance companies the highest rate they can on the chart they can, at the rest of the tax payers expense and there is no way of stopping this practice, unless we have a universal health care cost for all & not for only group rates or company rates or for small businesses only

What is really dumb about this is that a socialise medical system would free up her business from the neck yoke of private health insurance. She would finally be really covered instead of trying to save enough in her medical IRA. Repealing Medicare would disenfranchise the folks that paid taxes all their life and have known that Medicare was their for them in the latter stages of life. Reforming Medicare and trying to cut some costs involved with it should be a goal of the Congress.

If health costs continue to rise she will find it harder and harder to offer her employees coverage. And that is saying that she can at this time afford it to begin with. Employer costs for employee health insurance is not cheep.
I know it's not cheap, I pay premiums every month on 4 employees. If I they want to keep this insurance how am I going to continue to pay their premium and higher taxes? Why not do away with employer based coverage and let everyone go buy a policy? Why should the employer or Government be responsible for coverage? What? No one is saying that anyone can have an MRI scan as they pleased. However, if some does need a high end MRI scan, he/she should get it regarding how much money he/she has. Thats the beauty of the NHS here in the UK, you are treated baised on how severe your condition is, and not depending on how much is in your wallet.
Regarding the premature baby, thats an ethical debate to be had. Cases such as that are rare anyway.

She DOES have health insurance. The ONLY way you can have an HSA is if you have Insurance thru an HMO; the Govt doesn't allow you to have an HSA otherwise.
An HSA you contribute into on an annual basis-- the amt you contribute is deductible from your taxes & the amt rolls over from yr to yr. The Govt sets the amt for how much an individ/family can give to their HSA per annum.
Until the Abrams spend 5G's this yr for medical expenses they'll pay using $ in their HSA, then insurance kicks in.

The Dentist, Doctors will charge the Insurance companies the highest rate they can on the chart they can, at the rest of the tax payers expense and there is no way of stopping this practice, unless we have a universal health care cost for all & not for only group rates or company rates or for small businesses only

What is really dumb about this is that a socialise medical system would free up her business from the neck yoke of private health insurance. She would finally be really covered instead of trying to save enough in her medical IRA. Whether they're trying to provide insurance for their employees, or themselves it gets really expensive and that cost doesn't get shared with the rest of the country so you wind up with our high per capita rate we pay which apparently they can't afford.

I knew when I saw her speak at the meeting that if she and many of the others that were applauding her words were to get on a one on one conversation, without the mob rule atmosphere, her lack of knowledge and logic would show through very easily. This should be edited down to about a one minute commercial on TV that can be used by those for health care reform. It will discredit people like her at town hall meetings in an instant.

She doesn't want a single payer system (which is not being proposed), but she hasn't considered that retirees over 65 use a single payer system.
This is a perfect example of why America is falling behind the rest of the industrial developed nations.
I admire her courage to speak and be interviewed. But she is naive. I wish she had started paying attention way before now. Perhaps then, we could be spared the Chicken Little routine.

Repealing Medicare would disenfranchise the folks that paid taxes all their life and have known that Medicare was their for them in the latter stages of life. Reforming Medicare and trying to cut some costs involved with it should be a goal of the Congress.

What are her current premiums? How many employees does she have? What are her current taxes? What is her current income level? Let me know when you get those figures.
If health costs continue to rise she will find it harder and harder to offer her employees coverage. And that is saying that she can at this time afford it to begin with. Employer costs for employee health insurance is not cheep.

I know it's not cheap, I pay premiums every month on 4 employees. If I they want to keep this insurance how am I going to continue to pay their premium and higher taxes? Why not do away with employer based coverage and let everyone go buy a policy? Why should the employer or Government be responsible for coverage? Bottom line, we'd all be better off if the Gov't stayed out of the health care buisness.

You're saying then that the US does not rank 37th in the world, as the World Health Organization claims, what source of information would you cite to counter that claim? If the WHO is a biased source of information on health care, what source of information would you suggest that ranks and analyzes various systems of health care? It's convenient to toss out phrases like "world run elite", but until you can provide an alternative source of information, I have no reason to credit what you say.
