  • I heard him make the shrilling noise when you put the camera to his face. Gotta love it. Sometimes our Maine Coon sounds like a baby Wookie.

  • keeps lookin at the camera like, c'mon, hairless monkey, make the shiny round part open the door! what do I pay you for??

  • My maine coon you either leave the door a little open so he can push it open or he will try and rip it apart.

  • Yes, they are very strong-willed cats.

  • Wow hes quite the lion!!! What a beauty tho very pretty animal...THANKS FOR RESCUING!!!!! Make adoption your only option everybody!!!

  • If you live in northwestern Oregon, Salem Friends of Felines is a wonderful organization that needs your support. Their cats stay in foster homes until they are adopted so they are socialized.

  • Where'de you get him?

  • Salem (Oregon) Friends of Felines runs a cat shelter with an outlet in a local PetSmart. I saw this huge orange mass pressed against the cage from across the room. A little while later, he came home with me.

  • @Audinos wow, I thought it was the record holding Leo, great cat anyway

  • HA! Does he get into the bathroom cabinets and kitchen ones? Ours does that and it's making me nuts. We have to child proof all the drawers!

  • He will open any door or pull out any drawer that doesn't require a lot of force. When he tries a door, he will first push against it. If it doesn't open, he'll lay down and stick an arm under the door to pull it. If that doesn't work, he'll try to turn the knob.

  • Yup, sounds a lot like ours. =) They're so mischevious.

  • is that a tiny door with a tiny door knob? or is that a huge cat!

i wana mix my Siamese with a maine coon hopefully get a huge cat with short coat and a a mane. hey i could dream right

  • That's a standard 7-foot interior door. Good luck with your Thai Coons. I'd like to see one.

  • my dad has a maine coon and a siamese snowshoe cat. The siamese always hisses whenever the coon is around him.

    So yeah, Siamese hate long-hairs.

  • big fuzzball of cuteness!

  • i love Maine Coons

  • Booda looks exactly like this and does the same thing, but my door is loose, so it wobbles and it bothers the crap out of me when I'm busy working on stuff and he does that.

  • my cat paws on the door like that too

  • "he ... is the diameter of a large bowling ball when sitting upright."

    Amusing comparison. :)

  • I'm 6'0" and he is longer than my outstretched arm when he stretches out. He doesn't care to be held too long, but if I hold him upright, he hangs from my neck to below my waist, not counting the tail.

  • how adorable! i luv how he doesnt expect you to open it for him hahaha

  • He will open any door, cabinet, or drawer that he can. I know when he has been bored, because every drawer in my bathroom and kitchen will have been pulled out. If this door had a hook-type knob, he could easily open it.

  • Mine open doors and stuff too. Ha! Gotta love 'em.

  • Mmmm, what a big beautiful kitty!!

  • My old coon used to get shaved about every 4 months or so, she was fat on top of being so fuzzy so she never could keep herself unmatted. XD

  • With their cottony fur, the mats have to be cut out if they get too close to the skin. That's why I never let him outside.

  • We had this maine coon cat named Fattums (my brother named him) looked JUST like your cat. Cept he got a shitload of mats in his fur. :P Ya gotta love maine coons.

  • WOW! he is huge - you can really see when he stands up to touch the doorknob! Very nice coon - excellent color as well!
