  • Chris Bristow ejected from his car and landing near a barbed-wire fence, beheading him. He might have survived the crash had he not been thrown. Who knows what his career would be like.

  • Almost all of these drivers died at the tests of new cars. That shows the new cars were not safe enough. The mechanics of these cars shold be guilty of their death, not the drivers. R.I.P. to all these drivers

  • maravilloso el homenaje

  • if you would like to see classic f1 races of the last 22 years and watch the likes of senna prost and mansell then check out classicgrandprixclub

  • every driver in the 50s and 60s knew the gigantic risk, and its thanks to those brave people that the sport of F1 still exists today. RIP

  • What is the name of this song is the singer and I hope to find an answer because I do not know the names of Arab singers often

  • @yas081

    song is

    My immortal by Evanescene

  • the old chicane in monaco was like threading a needle, very dangerous!

  • RIP... At least they died doing what they loved in this life, they weren't born to work in an office like the rest of us.

  • On June 20th is the 100th Birthday of Paul Pietsch, the last driver of the Grand Prix Races between 1930 and 1938.

A living history book, and a lucky guy who hasn´t lost his life at the dangerous times of motor sport... R.I.P. to everyone in this video, you´ll never be forget.

  • 2:18 - 2:27 The driver is flung out slamming into the track and landing on other side :(

  • holy crap that crash at 2:09 is tragic! I go to the GP every year at silverstone and think to myself all this fencing etc is annoying for viewing but my god, if they had it back then! Nice tribute. People still dont realise how dangerous f1 is and still is to this day. You should check out a video ive just put up of the 2010 season.

  • RIP all these heroes....Real men,real drivers.....

  • Lorenzo Bandini Crash Was A Real Fatal

    He Hit The barrier

    /watch?v=rnMPWtgmqVw

  • 1958 was sad year

  • There were more deads in the Formule 1. Around 1953 till 1959 the track Indianapolis (indy) 500 was a part of the FIA World Drivers' Championship. On that track died 7 or 8 drivers between 1953 and 1959.

  • 2:05 omg, how many spectators died there?

  • @POLIDAMIAN Fifteen spectators were killed in that crash.

  • Lorenzo Bandini.....oh what a shame...loved that man.....car number 18 lives in my memory

  • Good but sad video...:(

Wolfgang von Trips crash at Monza also killed over a dozen spectators..:(

  • Beautiful...

  • Cevert? Price? Ratzenberger? senna? Paletti? Villeneuve?.... I won't ask for Clark, he died in a Formula 2 race

  • @Barnakos PART 2

  • but wy they still do it?

if it wasent for them it probobly wouldent excist the new racing era

  • The last one- that is Lorenzo Bandini who died @ Monaco 67?

Ah no, please don;t show this....

  • And someone of them will won the championship if he was'nt died (Collins, Von Trips, Bandini). Poor Alan Stacey, he died because a bird hit him! Very unlucky

  • Where is Senna?

  • @parastina Part 2 man...

  • @parastina gilles vilneuve ecc...

  • Fucking Pilots what the fuck you doing? You see a car burn a really strong crash and you don't stop to help/how is your Friend? For me isn't important a fucking race i want the life of a pilot of a my Friend Money don't make me happy. Thumbs up if you think same :) RIP To all Pilots doing this things :D Better die like they... Doing a thing they like and be remembered :)

  • far too many great drivers, truly great drivers lost their lives over the years. the best way to get across just how dangerous it was is something that jakie stewart, lets face it a world authority on such things, points out to express it. if you were a racing driver for 5 years around the time he raced, so from about the time of the end of this video, bare in mind they all raced in numerous formula, you would have stood a 2in3 chance of having died either racing or testing. 2 IN 3!

  • great work, it was nice to see my Peter Collins my uncle in that.

  • They lack Ickx,Ratzemberger and senna too...

  • @Enri1989 ehm..ehr.... Ickx ?!? Fortunately he is still well alive ... anyway Roland Ratzenberger and Ayrton Senna are in part 2.

  • @coland1982 great tribute well put together

  • In this video lacks the crash of Jim Clark

  • @CFSCOMPANY Although one of the best F1 drivers of all time, poor Jim died in a Formula 2 race at Hockenheim, hence his absence in this tribute.

  • @coland1982 Oh I'm sorry I didn't know this...ok...thank you for the notice

  • @coland1982 Henry died at Silverstone, but it wasn't a Formula 1 race - it was a BRDC event. As Jim was arguably the greatest F1 driver that ever was, it's only fair to include him in a tribute.

At that time, many drivers raced and died at other classes, & they were a loss to their families, motorsport and to the world. To leave out a 2 times F1 world champion on a pedantic point that he wasnt actually killed in an F1 race, is frankly trite and in many people's opinion derogatory.

  • @donutt64 I have already stated my point of view on this subject. I respect your's but I will not change the video.

  • @coland1982 Fantastic video/s, BUT your wrong and should change it. Clark was and is the exception to the rule.

  • @donutt64 Jim è il più grande pilota di F1 ma non è l'unico ne tantomeno il migliore.

  • @donutt64 Furthermore, his name wasn't Henry. It was HARRY Schell.

  • Where's Senna?????????

  • @brunotcs Probably on part 2

  • Very well made compilation....if we must have music rather than original soundtrack then this is how it should be done.

Are you listening? all those of you out there who insist on using pounding rock tracks or even worse that rubbish that is called 'rap'... if you put a C on the front of rap then it's about right.

Anyway very sensitivly done .....Top Man.

  • Great tribute man!

  • in 1950-1965 cars it was pretty sure your gonna die if the car rolls over

  • Wolfgang von Trips, and what about the people? :(

  • @thijsisf1fan 12 spectators are killed :(

  • @MezabarbaBH i will believe that

  • God Bless the families.

    Great tribute.

  • wow that is bad

    R.I.P

  • Following F1 over 25 years and I have never seen any pictures from the Peter Collins crash. Well done nice video.

  • wow what a shit song!

  • GREAT VIDEO BUT it really could do without the sappy music !

  • i hold elite race drivers and motorcycle pilots in the highest regard .

they posses a skill we do not and will never have.

they are truly amazing , my respects....

  • RIP to all from Slovakia

  • @Schimansky7 vole..stejne chces jenom zviditelnit Slovensko :D

  • What about Tom Pryce and Senna? Anyway, very good video. Von Trips crash is pretty spectacular.

  • @Lucruza i think its in part2

  • This song, The video when i watch this video i shed a tear or two...

  • RIP; Hearts of men... so young...

Monza and Nordschleife were fucking death traps back then.

Thank god for the much better safety equipment now.

  • amazing great joob

  • terrible song!

  • I want to die going 200MPH+... Maybe for some people, that's insanity, but at least for me, I'll be dying doing something I love.

    Just like these men.

    RIP Legends.

  • I miss them (the crashes)

  • I don't know if it's right to say that they were heroes...but they were very, very brave!

    Stirling Moss said once:

"You shouldn't lament about them. They died for something they loved most"

I think that is the right arguement!

  • Bravisimo brilliant way to put it!

  • @CitroenC4WRC

They are making the bets on the risk management of the situation every second.....for hours? They make good and bad bets. Sometimes its not even their decision. To even start the race requires lots of responsibility to the driver.

I agree. They knew the odds.

  • Unfortunate if you race in the 60's you are almost guarented death when you hav big crash. But those guys are heroes. they are very brave. R.i.p

  • @jraybay It wasnt any better in the 70's either. They had guts back then. I surprised about the safety regulations back then. r.i.p

  • rip

  • Shit! Nurburging was a fuckin deathtrap

RIP all legends from the past

  • thats why it is calles the green hell^^

  • Yea got that right! makes sense

  • rip

  • hammer video, unglaublich, dazu noch diese perfekt passende musik !!!

  • Peter Collins death? I did: Peter Collins in youtube and the first video i saw:

    Peter Collins 1976?

  • Peter Collins was killed at the Nurburgring one year after a fantasic F1 race (probably the best race ever)

  • @schanche1965 Ok thanks but what year he died than?

  • 3rd August 1958 Peter Collins death

  • Fine video. There are some other great F1 drivers who died not necessarily in an F1 car, but racing or testing, like Alberto Ascari, Jean Pierre Wimille or Mike Hawthorn, just to name a few.

  • Nordschleife is a very dangerous track. VERY

  • nicely done

  • AWESOME...brought a tear to my eye.

Stacey and Bristow died in separate accidents. Stacey was hit in the face by a bird. That week end saw the end of Mike Taylors career as well.

  • Comment removed

  • A very tragic but dedicated video! And the music fits just perfect. R. I. P. to all dead drivers.....

  • Chris Bristow and Alan Stacey died in the same day,Did they wreck at the same time or they had seperated fatal crashes?Did all of these drivers die from Fatal Crashes?

  • @NASCARWWEclubpenguin The 1960 Belgium Gp was one of the most tragic in history... Stirling Moss broke both his legs during a practice session and Mike Taylor ended his carreer too in another crash. The race was even worse with the death of Stacey and Bristow in 2 separated accidents.

  • @coland1982,wow that was even worse than 1994 imola GP.

  • @coland1982 that race must be the most tragic! worse than the 1994 imola GP

  • @NASCARWWEclubpenguin The accidents were seperate, One of them (bristow i think) died after being hit in the face by a bird

  • @shazmeister2005 Stacey was hit by the bird. They died 5 laps apart; about 15 mins. Stacey at Masta, Bristow at Malmedy ie not far apart.

  • R.I.P. dear Onofre .

  • i'm sick of the safety im F1 in the 50's-60's

  • EVANESCENSE

  • good but can you tell me what the song is

  • The name of the song is "my immortal" by Evanescence

  • A most beautiful and respectful video, well done sir. Very moving and touching...

  • Excelent video! Congratulations!

  • Is it me?...or did I miss Jimmy Clark?

  • He lost his life in a Formula 2 race. Anyway one of the greatest....

  • Ah yes your right...I forgot. thanks for jarrin this old noggin. Very well done video brother, bloody well done! God bless them all and sweet eternal rest to them all as well!

  • eventhough im a NASCAR fan, i feel for the drivers, fans and familys... R.I.P

  • Those didn't race cars they raced gas tanks wow, all of them studs.....

  • Yes, it defies belief now that the Italian GP should have carried on after the Von Tripps crash. Several spectators also died in the incident. Likewise after Bandini's crash the race carried on around his burning car. I am not a great fan of modern F1 but at least the welfare of the driver is somewhat higher on the agenda than it was in the 50s and 60s.

  • For von Trips crash they probably should have put the red flag out

  • i think u can see wolfgang von trips fly out of his car at 2:22, awful :(

  • its him, not the guts.

    (its guts not trips)

  • man i thought the same while watching, damn god

  • sadness indeed. Back when men were men and racers were larger than life men.

  • wow, some footage I've never seen before. Thanks.

  • back then racing was bout good drivers and crappy cars (xcept ford gt) now its al about imaging and whos driving the most powerfull one

  • Very well done video. The true pioneers of the sport have long since parished....

  • Awesumm Video dude

    Racing was soo hard..

Im happy they changed the rulez..

  • ouuuu...... that´s true :-(

  • wonderful video... very well done

  • Eroi

  • what is the name of that hauntingly beautiful song?

  • It's Evanescence - My Immortal

  • where hav u been ?

  • Nowhere, same place all the time.

  • lol nowhere sounds about right

  • Bel video!!! Forse però potevi anche risparmiarti di mettere i video delle puntate di sfide( per esempio, nell' incidente di bandini è stato tagliato il pezzo dove si vedeva il contatto con le barriere)

  • R.IP.!!! excellent video!! 5stars

  • Part 2 back offline, problems in the upload, back soon.

  • Part 2 is back online with provisional soundtrack. I hope no copyright claims this time since I cutted all post-1980 footage.

  • and could u upload in other site?

  • muy buenn video locoo

  • Davvero bello e triste questo video....Quanti morti.......TROPPI......

  • What a beautiful video :'/

  • In the crowd 11 deaths as I know

  • the roger williamson crash looked TERRIBLE! was that the driver slumped against the fence in that crash??? and the von trips crash looked horrible too! there had to be some injuries with the crowd standing right there too!

  • poor mans..:'(

love and respect for you guys..

  • 3:25 / 4:19

  • Is that Von Trips body being flung across the track at 2:19?

  • Yes

  • I think so...

  • At 2:30 you can see his body at the edge of the track on the left side.

Also, the crash killed 15 people in the crowd.

  • I remember watching a car racing movie from the 30's. Similar style cars. The guys were crashing and flying out of them becaues they wore no seat belts.!!! you would have thought they have figured it out by then. A lot of these could have survived.

  • no you have got it wrong, there was no advantage in those days to be strapped into the car, it was seen as an advantage to be thrown from the car because the cars of the 30s, 40s, 50s 60s were not taking corners so fast(no wings) and therefore there was less G force and because they were so fragile you would easily be crushed inside the car therefore it was better to be ejected although it was better not to crash at all! Many drives walked away after being thrown away, many did not, it is luck

  • You are right, furthermore many of the 60s and 70s drivers was extremely worried about fire and so they didn' wear seatbelts because they feared they could remain trapped in the car if a fiery crash occurred. Furthermore in the early years there was no roll-bar so being sticked to the seat would have been simply deadly in case of a roll.

  • big memories...

    thank you for posting!

  • i give u 5 stars** but i would prefer see more crashes and the profiles was cool too.

  • I've never seen that Von Trips footage on here before. Great video.

  • you don't show crashes in a tribute, moron,

  • What? A) He does show crashes, B) why are you telling me this, given that I commented on a crash which is indeed shown and C) who's the moron?

  • A) I didn't mean you, I was commenting on the post of ar47ak15

    B) Although he does shows crashes here and calls it a tribute, I think it's not ok.

    C) Because you react on something that was meant for someone else, I think you are the moron....

  • Well it said in my comments that you had replied to my comment. If you made the mistake and then called me a moron, than you are very definately the moron. If this is a youtube glitch, how was I meant to know when it said that you had replied to me?

  • Ok I am the moron and you are just a cocksucker.

  • beautiful just beautiful.............

BEST I EVER SEEN ON YOU TUBE

  • Where is part 2?

  • Gone for rights claims.... I am working on a new version that should be ok.

  • you must protect your life sport must be life not death

  • Damn. Was that von Tripps being flung across the track?

  • Yes it was, unfortunately. He could have been F1 champion that year in 1961. He finished 2nd in the championship with 33 pts to Phil Hill with 34 pts.

  • formula 1 was bad back then,no side gatez, tire wall in a open head shot

  • 1960 Belgian Grand Prix was very sad. Chris Bristow and Alan Stacey both lost their lives at that race within minutes of each other in separate crashes.

Stirling Moss and Mike Taylor, who survived, had bad crashes themselves; Taylor was paralyzed for years.

  • f1 can never be "death proof", we may learn a lot about the sport, like downforce, but theres a lot we dont know

  • motorsport can never be death proof but things such as a HANS device really make a difference, i think that the HANS device should be mandatory becuase i used to race karts and i crashed around 50mph and my neck was sore, imagine 150

  • thing is, in nascar, especally after dale senior's death, it is madatory

  • 13 died with trips

  • A wonderful video and a very fitting tribute to some very great men.

  • I, for one, will never forget them.

    Who are they again?

  • It breaks the heart for every real fun of F1...

  • those were great times, everything was so easy back then, no secrets for each other, they were actually showing off there engines,

this music fits the video great, almost makes me go cry :P

  • At the crash of Von Trips it looks weird.

You see it's like he flow to the other side of the track. And then he stands on the other side of the track!

  • look i read about the death of alan stacey.Actually he died because a bird flew at his face and his neck was broken

  • where is part 2? R.I.P to them all, Great Heroes, who live for fomula 1, Really sad to see..

  • Removed due to copyright claims by FOM.

I am working on a new version.

  • lorenzo bandini is my favorite driver.

    EVER

  • I agree. What the fuck about the shitty medals system!

  • Agree. Medal system sucks - under such sustem the driver with the best car, which, however, is unable to finish the race (eg due to crashes) will beat the driver in the slower car who is more reliable and intelligent. That's unfair.

Under Bernie F1 becomes a sport for Arabian sheikhs. That sucks.

  • very good done !

    =)
