What I meant when I referred to the Roast was not that he didn't get sufficient recognition or anything, it was that he simply had a shitty attitude about the whole thing. Most comedians have fun with roasts since it gives them a chance to work with friends and let it all hang out. Patrice just seemed grumpy the entire time. I do love Patrice's comedy, I just think he could have gotten farther.
