in that situation, black knight means in substitute or in replace of someone. because during the battle between Yunho's story and Jung Hae's story, the audience need to choose which story was more touching. and whoever looses, there is a punishment. so Kim Hyun Joong, being a gentleman, decided to take over Jung Hae's place since if ever she looses, he will be the one who gets punished instead of Jung Hae. ^^
