thank you vry mch erik..your the best voice instructor here in you tube..im not a singer,.but i play guitar..now i can sing while im playing it...and i cant believe that i can hit some high notes now..that previously i cant..lol..thanks to you. god bless you bro..ill subscribe!!
I wish I had recorded myself when I first started watching your videos. I can feel the difference and wish I had a "pre" recording and a current one to compare the difference. Thank you so much for posting! :)
Great lesson! I did the exercises with your instructions in mind and i could hear the difference already. really wish i could get tapes of it cos i forget some of the execercise when i want to remember. Don't have internet at home:-(
hello :3 this is the little girl from germany, again :D. I lovethat you post a comment back, nearly no one is doing that and you take the time for your audience. :D Your videos help me a lot and I think I'll make this video to my every-day-practise in singing. do you think that's okey?
I have a *Serious* question. I haven't really done any singing really, but I think I would feel somewhat odd and "dumb" so to speak if I did some of these exercises. I'm assuming that the general response is that I can just say "I am taking care of myself, and you?", but any ideas? I'm a pretty self conscious person :/
heyy Erikk is it normal if your a 14 yrr old girl and for the low ahhhh part to sound like a guy hah like not reallyy a guy but my voice isnt reallyy deep so when i hit the deep notes it doesnt sound like everyy girl like hahah.
I love this guy where have you been my whole singing life!!!!!! i got questions id love you to answer.... pleases contact me in desperate need of the E
hey Erik! can't find words to thank you for these lessons! i've lost my voice during growing up. man thing. than I've been told that I "don't have the voice". took on the guitar so, than producing electronic music, making whole songs and enjoying the music. couldn't sing tho. but. i'm a stubborn m-f, so started to sing again and look for the lessons, answers and so on. and then i found ur lessons. and u blew my mind, and my vocal chords. anyone can sing. i can sing thanks to You.
I practice when I can :) Just ignore the ppl that can listen to You, then You will surprisingly find how much time and opportunities to practice You have in Your daily life :)
I have been watching your videos today from vid 1-8. My throat hurts now from doing all the exercises. Is this normal or is it because I am singing incorrectly? Thanks! You are awesome!
lol this is my favorite exercise. i jus luv the melody
and I love u so much man u jus dont know. sounds gay but oh well.
Im a producer and it has been really hard to work with artist and i had decided to jus be an artist myself. I've written songs but I couldnt sing them because I couldn't translate them to tape how it sounds in my head.
But after these videos I really improved also recorded my first song. It'll be out in july or Aug but check out my videos of me producing. peace!!!!
Hey man. Thanks so much!! LOL!!! I'm glad you are feeling the shows. I also checked out your production vid ~ Great work, man!! Let me know when your joint comes out so I can cop it. =)
Thanks so much for writing and watching! The answer is yes, singing actually causes fatigue and dryness of the throat and vocal chords. Smoking also causes cardio damage and cancer.
Hey Eric, I have seen so many Vocal xrcise vdos but I think yours r the most helpful and practical. I m just starting out to learn and improve my singing and you r the best. Thank you for posting such amazing vdos.
Eric, I have watched many clips on voice lessions in the past 2 years, and I think yours are THE BEST on the the net. I saw improvement in my voice learning from the others, but I believe yours will take it to the next level.
Hey Mr. E. I am truly amazed by your videos. I am a beginner and have learned a lot from you. Especially good habits. I just got a piano and was just wondering what are you playing to sing along with. Are those scales? thanks
Thanks for taking time to view my channel! Falsetto can always be regained. If you go to my "siren" drill exercise, I think that will help you.
Other than that, be sure to care for your voice. Never push too hard and pace yourself. Your range can be regained with discipline, patience and FUN!!! (Smile)
Hi im live in the philippines, i want to learn how to sing but my age is 20yrs old, is there any chance to learn this vocal lesson.. pls reply if i have a chance to improve my voice... my voice is so i cant explain but my problem is my tone... when i play guitar key of g my voice is always separate from the tone g.... please help me.. reply asap

hmm, ive just started singing like this year really and i;ve been thinking to try out for the school musical this year, against the chambor quire which sounds amazing,
i was wondering how to get rid of a "squeeky" tone or sound when i try and sing,
1. Continue to strengthen your diaphragm. Sometimes the squeakiness can come from alot of unnecessary chest breathing.
2. Visit my video on "How To Sing Loud". By opening your throat more, you can encourage your body to avoid "nasal" tones which can also add to the squeaky-effect.
Good luck on your audition! Let me know how things turn out.
Wow! Yey! A singing video featuring COOL japanese people. We're all friends in this small world =] I don't know you guys, but say 'hi' to Haru and Mika. And Hi to Eric. You guys are doing a fantastic job!!!ありがとう ございます!!
Lesson 2 done. I'm cramming this in my head and moving on. I REALLY appreciate your help Erik Dillard. I can already tell parts of my singing is getting better. One question I have is, when I hear the Jonas Brother's singing, there's times where it sounds like they're singing from their throats. Is this just me, or is there a way to imitate this without hurting your throat. They're getting that sound that sounds like a rolling noise from their throats.

hi.
im. a soprano and i have a bit of trouble resonating on higher notes.(like its more airy)
is there anything i can to do help it??
luanaoh 3 years ago
Hey luanoah,
Thnks for that question! The "airiness" that you are experiencing is more than likely a matter of "breath" control.
What you'll want to do is use your diaphragm more so that you can pump more and faster air through your vocal chords. As you do this (along with scale exercises that build your range), you'll notice your vocal chords getting strong and now allowing so much whispering air to pass through them.
I will focus on this more in depth in a futre vid!
Thnks again!
