  • @Ibeagle, Karpov was champion from 1975 to 1985...He lost to Kasparov in 1985 at Moscow.

Lets face it, both men are legends and I personally respect both players! Kasparov vs. Fischer would have been the dream match. (Ok, Fischer vs. Karpov too)

Kasparov and Karpov are clearly equals. The difference in wins is only a couple of games. Overall Kasparov dominated the game during the next few decades.

  • @Progrose 100% Concur with your statement.Even I never felt one of them was lesser. Both are Titans of equal measure.

  • I do not really understand why Karpov always came late to these matches?

  • @JOTTABYTE for a similar reason ppl with 'cache' turn up late for high society parties

  • to bad kasparov won the match it would have been nice to see karpov beat him and win the title at least once

  • @theRulerofwar1

Karpov proved his value a lot of times. Those matches, with wins by one point only, show us how they was together.

Kasparov talks a lot about Karpov genials qualities.

I prefer Karpov, but, at this level, a little difference can make the difference.

    A Patzer.

  • @theRulerofwar1 Karpov was World Champion from 1975-1986.
