What is obnoxious is press that don't do their homework. I've been to press circuits where I have looked my fellow journalists and thought - jesus, did you not check on youtube???

I hate it when journalists waste my time by asking the same old questions - which is why I live by the rule of never asking questions about the current show or about their personal lives.

Or interviewers who act like they're talking to a brick wall: they don't create a dialog, but just march through a script.

This interview had a bit of that, but it must have been edited. Maybe it wasn't really that way.

Actually, it is often difficult to create that kind of dialogue - there are time constraints,editorial agenda.

Remember, often these interviews are just copy - a means to sell a product, a movie or show or album. It's embedded advertising half the time.

I don't run my interviews that way. I like to ask about more obscure things eg. activist work, theatre etc.. I talked to Terry Farrell last spring for a good half hour about organic farming and schooling for her son. Nice lady.

Finally an interview where they don't ask him about Star Trek only. I imagine that some Star Trek actors find it annoying that interviewers only ask them about Star Trek and nothing else. The theatre stuff has more value to the actors than such TV shows because playing theatre is pure acting without breaks which you have during a shooting for a TV show. Patrick Stewart - simply a brilliant actor! =)
