One of the first anime movies I watched when I was younger (first being Akira, which blew my mind). Had this bad boy on a VHS tape, which really dates me.
Can anybody recommend anime films like this one? I already watched Ninja Scrolls and of course will see blood lust, also I have seen Akira and will check out Paprika any other ones that can be recommended?
man these oldskool artists were badass, notice how they even draw the little details when someone's gut's come spewing out unlike the next gen crap where all u see is flat red when a limb comes off
in my opinion the book is much better, but that's just me. this was made before even GitS so i can except that. for those who haven't read the books, go start
@D0R1M0N oh didnt you read the title it was made in 1985 so no photoshop. no computer effects. Only pure handmade drawing; you should have seen how they created this in dvds extras...this is still anime and there would be no bloodlust if this was not made so give some respect.
Love this movie. but her skirt is too funny. Hope she never forgets to wear underwear or there is going to be quite the show. ;)

I heard Vampire Hunter D was named the best anime movie of all time.
Watching this brings back memories of early childhood.
