It's a good thing I don't go to Rogan for political advice. Libertarian philosophy is very substantive when it comes to social issues (abortion, gay rights, drugs etc), but the economic side is simply appalling. I have no problems paying taxes for public schools and assistance to poor people. Ron Paul is not impressed. He wants to dismantle such irrational programs so "people can take care of themselves".

The way I see it, it doesn't matter what a politician truly believes, even if he is not bullshitting about his platform. You won't get elected if you don't change your views in some way to suit the views of the masses, and if you do you are obligated and pressured to fulfill what the masses are expecting you to. It's a good thing I don't go to Rogan for political advice. Libertarian philosophy is very substantive when it comes to social issues (abortion, gay rights, drugs etc), but the economic side is simply appalling. I have no problems paying taxes for public schools and assistance to poor people. Ron Paul is not impressed. He wants to dismantle such irrational programs so "people can take care of themselves".

The way I see it, it doesn't matter what a politician truly believes, even if he is not bullshitting about his platform. You won't get elected if you don't change your views in some way to suit the views of the masses, and if you do you are obligated and pressured to fulfill what the masses are expecting you to. I have to disagree with Mr. Rogan that there IS something we can do for change. As he reported (and I have to look it up myself to make sure it's true) about rigging voting machines then we, as a people need to make them remember THEY work for US.
