  • Republicans hate teachers so much. Why? No Republican wants to propose raising teacher salaries. Quite the opposite actually. Teachers are barely scraping by in my home state of Idaho. I'm moving.

  • Purely educated?

  • i miss Cenk on msnbc

  • And when the teaparty takes over next year, they will throw out the illegals, wait and see.

  • I repeat....9 million to 14 million jobs are being done by illegal aliens. How is that helping wages? How is that helping Americans to become employed? You see, you cannot on one hand CLAIM to give a damn about American workers, but on the other hand support illegal aliens to be here and work here.

Dont piss down my back and tell me it's raining.

  • We consevative libertarians dont oppose the rich paying more because we like the rich. We oppose the rich paying higher percentages because we feel it is immoral and un-constitutional. This is something you liberals dont understand about us.

  • @calimar28 you may feel its unconstitutional but its constitutional. Its better to tax the rich. And why would you want millions and millions. Republicans just care about money, thats it.

  • @TheCortez714 Republicans only care about money, but you dont? Then leave the rich alone and stop trying to steal their money. You see, the dems make a bunch of federal programs that do nothing, then they cant pay for them, then they say "lets tax the rich". No, how about "lets get rid of the spending programs that dont do anything?

  • @calimar28 I'm not stealing their money. A good thing to do with that money is to invest!

  • Health Care bills???

I hope you realize the US Government even without a public option spends more on health care per person than any other country.

  • If they dont tax the rich...what are they going to get from the poor meaning us..

  • There is a lot loopholes some people pay taxes some dont...i think also rich dont pay some taxes..if they say they do it must be a lie..or are paying less..you font have to have degree for that

  • You got your tax cuts...

    WHERE are the jobs?

You lied, give us our bailouts back! Simple as that.

  • I find these Republicans extremely annoying. They've essentially ruined the country. Well, no, you can't say they ruined the country. It's in a cobra's nature to bite. You can't blame it for biting. Rather, it's the ignorant and highly unintelligent electorate that has ruined the country. In representative democracy, the people really get the government they deserve, nothing better or worse. If the American government sucks, it's cause American voters suck. They keep voting in these dunces.

  • the tax cuts for the rich dident work but these conservatives thats their whole way of thinking so they cant admitt it dident work.

  • _~The idea that lower corporate & individual tax rates spur job growth is a 30-year REPUBLICAN LIE. Since the implementation of the REAGAN & BUSH TAX CUTS, America has LOST MORE jobs than at any other time in its history. Not collectng a FAIR SHARE of taxes from corporations& the wealthy has spawned a SERIOUS REVENUE PROBLEM which should be a matter of NATIONAL SECURITY. On the other hand, a WORKING MIDDLE CLASS with money to spend DOES SPUR JOB GROWTH. AMERICA, REJECT THE REPUBLICAN LIE!

  • @poindexterwitkowsky so true!

  • Repeat, repeat, repeat the lie until they buy it... I wonder who said something like this :)

"all effective propaganda must be confined to a few bare essentials and those must be expressed as far as possible in stereotyped formulas. These slogans should be persistently repeated until the very last individual has come to grasp the idea that has been put forward"

    -A Hitler in Mein Kampf

An NO, I am not saying Republicans are Nazis, I am saying they use the same methods in propaganda.

  • So there you have it folks! I cannot be beaten on the issues, so those who debate me, resort to personal attacks!

  • @calimar28 Wrong. disrxt schooled you like Sarah Palin needs to be.

  • Conservatives do not understand how economics work.

  • Cenk should have let his guest talk more.

  • No Boehner, congress has a spending AND a revenue problem. Not enough taxes on the rich, and too much spending on our military.

  • Well the problem is the government (republicans and democrats) has made the tax system so complicated, that the big companies pay hardly anything. Republicans are right, taxes should be lower, as high taxes strangle an economy; but this has to be done in conjunction with simpler system so everyone has a level footing. When republicans are asking for lower taxes they are not referring to the companies already paying negative taxes, this is just liberal nonsense.

  • @tonyciv4

I sorry have absolutely no tolerance anymore. Your entire premise is an insult to logic.

It makes absolutely no No NO sense!!!

  • You also forgot to mention that refugee program needs to be stopped. Can America afford to bring in and support 80,000 refugees every year?

Let me give an example: California. It is losing 6 buisness' per week! It is now ranked 50th (dead last) in states to open a buisness in. High taxes, regulations, and sancurary for illegals destroyed that state. Do you see what I am driving at?

  • cut military spending, cut oil subsidies, and raise taxes on the rich (deficit solved over a few years)

  • @theaceofspades39 Raise taxes on the rich and the deficit is solved? REALLY? If you raise it to 39%, that is still only a poultry 80 billion a year! And that is if no more corporations leave and go to China! The deficit is 1.5 TRILLION a year! 80 billion a year will somehow erase 1.5 trillion in overspending per year? How?

You know what a trillion is? A trillion is one thousand billions. Raising taxes on the rich wont do diddly. The problem is spending.

  • @calimar28 did you completely miss the first part of what i said we spend $680 billion a year on "defense" that IS a problem that needs to be fixed

  • @theaceofspades39 Actually, we spend 1.2 trillion on defense. But you left out the part about the 14 (I think) govt agencies that dont do anything, like depts of education, energy, etc. You also left out the part about getting rid of some taxes altogether to attract buisness' to come back to America. You left out all of that for some reason.

  • @calimar28 oh yeah because of course we need to cut education first what kind of sense does that make? Even we cut the programs you said, do you not agree that we need to cut our ridiculous military budget?

  • @theaceofspades39 Education? Useless, absolutley worthless. Once the dollar bankrupts, we will have food riots, you'll see.

  • @calimar28 in about five years if the GOP won't play ball

  • @MTVVH1sucks We wont play ball. So, there you go. We dont want to play ball, because playing ball means more spending and certain bankruptcy. So count the teaparty out when "playing ball".

You will play ball with us more like it. Elections are next year.

  • @calimar28 yea cause "spending" is BAD! lol cause "if Obama gets his way we will go bankrupt!" hey wait, I thought we are already bankrupt? At least that's what Eric Canter said to Joplin Missouri when they needed help after the worst storm they have seen in 60 years hit. I know you Teabaggers think that shutting down the Gov. is a good thing but trust me when your SS check does not show up in the mail you will be sorry. PS Next year the teabaggers are done for! sorry Koch Bros. you loose ha ha

  • @MTVVH1sucks Nah, we will take both houses next year. no more liberals. And the drugs...I mean "SS checks" that you pieces of shit got the old people hooked on...well, we are not going to get rid of it, we cant now. But we can wipe out Obamacare, and we will.

  • @calimar28 yea sure you will lol you need to check the polls buddy hahaha can't you tell that almost 80% of the country is against the Ryan plan? Wipe out Obamacare? don't you mean all that legislation that republicans wrote themselves that Obama included into the reform? or is that stuff ok? I have an idea why don't you go dig up RR and ask him what he thinks we should do about taxes? I don't think you are going to like what he would say haha or maybe you would refer to go back DTE's ere?

  • @MTVVH1sucks Yeah, no more govt programs, NO MORE. We cant afford the one's we have...IT DOESNT WORK, OK? 14 trillion in debt and 37 trillion in liabilities to Medicare that we cannot pay. STOP BLEEDING US LIBERALS!!

  • @calimar28 how about NO MORE of the BUSH TAX CUTS? they have cost us over 2.3 trillion dollars and two million jobs in 07/08 or what about that stupid war in Iraq? Gee I wonder who's Idea that was? "Bleeding us"? its our money you idiot! you think that Obama is a liberal because why? because he wants to raise taxes on the rich? why don't you look up the tax rate for millionares under Eisenhower dummy? PS stop making up numbers I'm not as dumb as you think.

  • @MTVVH1sucks It is not your money. Your stealing it from those who earn it. The bush tax cuts were a joke. They cut very little. They may have saved us some jobs though. Now, coporations are saying either we get rid of most taxes and all unions, or they will go to China. I cannot blame them.

  • @calimar28 I did not say it was MY money! I said it's OUR money! entitlement is "the guarantee access to benefits based on established rights or by legislation. A "right" is itself an entitlement associated with a moral or social principle" IT IS OUR MONEY! The Bush taxcuts killed millions of jobs welcome to reality. I can only characterize your defense of corperations shipping jobs over seas as un-american.

  • @MTVVH1sucks Entitlement is "the guarentee of the goverment stealing someones money to give to someone else...legalized theft".

The Bush tax cuts killed jobs? Whaaa? Do you liberals just spout bullshit to see what it sounds like?

  • @calimar28 How is it not our money? And how did you earn it?

Of course you can't blame corporations, you're a tool.

  • Comment removed

  • @theaceofspades39 I agree.

  • @calimar28 yea education what a waste! god knows it did nothing for you hahaha stop kissing up to the corperations "oh if we don't give them rock bottem taxes they won't come back" shut up with your stupid nonesense! if you are a US company that ships work over seas to save a buck I only have one word for that...un-american. Why don't you start talking about cutting tax subsidies for big oil insted of cutting education? why? cause you don't want our youth to figure out how dumb you are lol

  • @MTVVH1sucks Your un-patriotic, as all liberals are. You are against free enterprize. You want to steal buisness owners money. Shame.

  • @calimar28 Patriotism is shit and only morons follow such a notion.

  • Taxation is not theft. Taxation is a part of the social contract that everyone lives by. It is a social contract which you have agreed to by freely choosing to remain in the country. It is a democracy, so you can campaign to change the tax code, as can everyone else. Or if you do not want to pay tax to the US government, you are perfectly free to hop on the next plane and GTFO. You can opt out of the contract any time you want. Go to Mogadishu. You won't have to pay any tax there!

  • @calimar28 No you raise the taxes on the rich to 50%

  • @Moionfire 50%? Nah, thats illegal. The tax code is illegal now. unequal protection for different classes, under the law. Now, a 10% FLAT TAX is legal.

"Taxes must be applied UNIFORMLEY, throughout the nation" - the constitution

  • @calimar28 Bla bla bla .. so the government has been running under an "illegal" system for the last 75 years, honestly you people make my shake my head. You live in fact free universe.

  • @sharper68 Yes it is very ilegal. A first year lawyer could see that. But the fat buerucrats in DC dont care...and the Supreme Court was liberal for most of hte 1900's, and allowed it. now it has "presidence", but the Supremes should outlaw it anyway. The tax code violates the constitution in a big way.

  • @calimar28 lol, yep that is why no one has done anything about them. That is why they have been in place unchallenged for all this time. If it was possible to challenge them in court people like the coke brothers would have done so a long time ago. You are dead wrong and even the current right wing activist supreme court will not defund the government as it is the entire premise is just tin foil hat claptrap.

  • @sharper68 The "Koch" bros you mean? Wanna put them in jail and close them down? Ok, and there goes 50,000 jobs they create, many more than Obama ever created. You sure you want them in jail?

  • @calimar28 What are you taking about jail? ... I am saying if there was any way for them to pay less taxes they would and do fund it. If there was a case to be made that taxing them was "illegal" these guys would have made it ages ago. I have no idea what you are talking about with the jail thing but I guess that is how your mind works, if you disagree with someone jail them. That is not valid and has nothing to do with what I am saying.

  • @sharper68 It is illegal to tax the way the tax code states right now. You think about it, and then tell us why it might be illegal. Tell us what you think I might mean by it being illegal. Why is the tax bracket system illegal? Come on, I know you can come up with the answer...

  • @calimar28 Look it you who is making the erroneous unsupported claim it is "illegal". I put it in quotes because you must have a different definition than the rest of the world. It is not me who has to think about it and come up with answers it is you. I have told you why I believe your statement is bogus and have given concrete reasons on why you on the other hand have you have told me to think about your bizarre claim and answer it for you .. No I won't, you need to explain it yourself..

  • @sharper68 *sigh I have to explain it*. The current tax code is "non-equal protection under the law". If a politician says to a crowd "Ill cut everyones taxes to 0%, but Ill raise the top 1%'s taxes to 100%", then he is using the money of the top 1% to get votes from the other 99% of the people. That is un-equal protection for the top 1% of the people, you see? Then the top 1% has to go buy lobbiests for protection...which is exactly what is happening. Only a flat tax is legal

  • @calimar2 The reason why the stepped tax rate has made it into active LEGAL use is the the classification of a level playing field has been done in a different way than you choose to do it. The quantity of money made against the basic cost to live is used to generate the % not just the flat value which really only benefits the rich and unfairly targets the poorest. The effect of losing a larger % on the poor is much greater than the and that is the where the stepped system speaks to equity.

  • @sharper68 Your "stepped up tax bracket for fairness" explination doesnt cut it. It still does not protect the top 1%, from the bottom 99% from saying "we want all your money". How else do I need to explain it? It is ILLEGAL and UN-CONSTITUTIONAL. Im sorry, it just is. You can talk about fair and unfair all day, Im talking about the LAW.

  • @calimar28 You go ahead and protect the top 1% who are already unimaginably rich and attack the bottom. Your spin would be a redistribution of wealth to the very top that do not need your protection. Your ideas effectively dooms the middle class which is key to driving demand that actually creates jobs. We did very well before bush's tax cut thank you, there is no evidence at all that they ever helped the economy or that giving the rich more helps anyone but them.

  • We need to STOP SPENDING!!!!!!!!! We have a SPENDING crisis not a Tax crisis!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Cenk why don't you talk to Peter Schiff and he'll educate you on the economics.

Mercatus Institute proved that if we capped spending and taxation at the current levels (but allow for inflation) the budget will be balanced by 2020.

The more politicians raise taxes the more they spend. I would be cool with a raising the taxes 5% and dropping the spending. Unfortunately politicians see added tax dollars as more money to spend!

  • @robm425 Taxes are at a record 70 year low and if you listened to the right no republican ever thought of raising them or that revenue affects the budget. St Ronald Reagen raised taxes 6 times in his tenure because he never fell victim to the lobbyist propaganda brought paid for by the super rich so they could by another few mansions while the country goes to hell and their bought and paid for supporters yell for more cuts to programs that affect the working middle class.

  • @sharper68 No matter how much taxes are increased spending still increases unfortunately. Get spending in check and the budget will be balanced. Problem with tax increases is the gov't just feels they can continue to spend. I am for sensible tax increases once spending is capped.

Confiscate everything the Forbes Top 400 own, Total value $1.3trillion. We are only at 1/9th of total national debt. This year 1.6trillion in debt alone. So still need 300 billion for this year alone.

  • @robm425 I agree that is why a balanced approach is needed and that is not what is being offered by the right who have no interest in the economy or jobs and are only beholden to the interests that pay them. Taxing is not the only solution but when you take revenue off the table you simply do not care to solve the problem. Cutting does not solve the issue alone either and that is a fact the gop appears to be blind to. Like most things in life a balanced approach is what is called for.

  • Republicans created and are manufacturing the budget crisis.

  • @WillBobBill Really your forgetting that in 2003 the Republicans saw the danger of the housing market was about to be in trouble and proposed legislation to regulate Fannie and Freddie but the democrats voted down that legislation and Barney Frank said everything was peachy keen and there are no problems.... Funny I thought it was the republican's problem?

  • Demand creates jobs, not tax cuts.

If anything, raising taxes will make some businesses invest back into the business as an expense which is not taxed instead of taking money out as profit. So, raise taxes, create jobs!

  • "Hey children, pay attention class is in session" love it

  • Actually the LAST Republican president was Ike. Nixon, Ford, Reagan, Bush and Bush are not Republicans.

  • To bad this is "real tv". I would hve LOVED to hear more of what this guy has to say. I hope, in time, the MSNBC gig will make it easier to get people to come on TYT. At least there they'll have a fighting chance to finish what they want to say.

  • Cenk, raising taxes is not the answer. 700 billion over 10 years is bumpkus. That is 80 billion a year, but our yearly defisite is ONE AND A HALF TRILLION! Your "tax hike" does nothing to help the debt.

Only answer: stop spending. no Obamacare, bring troops home from all nations, slow up immigration, get rid of govt departments. Otherwise...we will go bankrupt.

  • @calimar28 Actually it does everything to help the debt, as you just pointed out. It stops the deficit from growing, and gradually reduces the debt. The budget cannot be mathematically balanced by budget cuts alone. Cutting all spending, including the spending going to education, policing, and firefighting, would not balance the budget. The only sensible answer to the debt is to raise taxes on the (very) rich so that they are in line with what the rest of the country is paying.

  • @bjtkyo Cutting spending on policing and firefighting? Those are local taxes, Im talking about federal taxes. HELLO, MCFLY???

Dump all govt agencys, dept of education, dept of energy, and the other depts...thats 600 billion right there. Then cut another 800 billion from overseas adventures, and that totals 1.4 trillion...almost enough.

  • @calimar28 So you'd rather cut all that than simply raise taxes back to what they were when the economy was doing well. Cool, I guess. But really, what hurts America more? Cuts to literally every government-run program, or making the rich slightly less rich (which, by historical evidence, did not affect the job supply in America). And you've really just made my point. The budget doesn't get balanced even if you cut EVERYTHING. The government needs some sort of revenue increase.

  • @bjtkyo Sure, lets raise taxes to hell. I dont care. Lets watch EVEN MORE jobs go to China.

The goverment will get a revenue decrease at this rate, because nobody wants to do buisness here anymore. Who wants to pay 1/3 of their income to the govt? Not me. There is only one way to save the nation. Get rid of corporate taxes, payroll taxes, go to a "fair tax" system, and dump the unions. Then mabey, just MABEY corporations will want to be here.

  • @calimar28 That's laughable. You say corporations have liberals by the balls, yet you're the one voting to remove their taxes and unions. Big corporations have done nothing but screw America over and over, and you want to support them further. Let them leave, they're bleeding the system dry anyways. But obviously someone who wants to support the corporations and thinks every president for the past 100 years is completely beyond logic. So I'm done talking to someone who doesn't like truth.

  • @bjtkyo No, I dont want to support corporations...you have me all wrong. I want them to leave! That is what you want, right? I want them to leave, so we can hurry up and bankrupt the dollar which is going to happen anyway. Then, we wont have a liberal system anymore.

  • @bjtkyo Corporations have you by the balls! And I laugh about it! You libs demonize the corporations for years, and now they are leaving, and your crying about them leaving! Serves you right. As a conservative I know that the dollar will go bankrupt...it is the only way. Politicians will never do the nessacary severe cuts that are needed to save us. So there will be food riots in the streets after all.

Americans have voted liberals in for 100 years. Americans get what they deserve now.

  • @bjtkyo But hey, Obama is doing a great job! Unemployment is up to 9.1% (real figure is around 17%). Out of the 53,000 new jobs that were created last month, half of them are...Mcdonalds jobs. We are in another war (Libya) that we cannot afford. Troops are in Iraq, and we have twice as many in Afghanastan. Way to go Obama! HOPE AND CHANGE!

  • The economy is kaput, the debt isn't serviceable, and our clown representatives are speaking meaningless phrases using words that they don't understand. WE'RE FUCKED!

  • I love how Cenk points at himself when he says 'middle class,' lol, Cenk is definitely over the 250 000 mark.

  • Goddamn, when will uneducated people learn that you CAN NOT FUCKING RAISE TAXES DURING A RECESSION OR RECOVERY....

YOU PEOPLE AAAARE STUUUUPID, READ A FUCKING BOOOOOK!

  • @willsbanana um, YOU NEED TO READ A BOOK TOO .. CUTTING TAXES HAS NOT HELPED THE ECONOMY FOR THE LAST 10 YEARS WHY THE HELL IS IT GOING TO NOW!!!!!

We tried it your way and it does not work, get a clue when you stick your hand in boiling water it burns STOP DOING THAT!

  • @sharper68 Actually cutting taxes did boost the economy....

And for the people who think that strongly contributed to the crash are pretty ignorant.

  • @willsbanana Well the actual evidence does not support your claim. It is you who appears to be ignorant and the fact bush started with w robust and growing economy and went to a disastrous one is a good indication of the value of tax cuts. I very significant portion of our current debt can be directly tied to that policy and I have seen no numbers at all that bear your statement out while I have seen plenty to the contrary.

  • @sharper68 No numbers??

Just check the date of the tax cuts. Immediately after; the deficit decreased and so did unemployment. If you disagree that tax cuts to the rich does not increase employment, then your economic literacy is obviously fairly hollow. Your argument is the fact that Bush left an atrocious economy behind? That actually was dependent on a plethora of policies dating prior to even Clinton.. Also economic busts aren't that simplistic to align the causation with that of government.

  • Atleast government alone. The fact is that the tax cuts to the rich did do great, especially the fact that it benefited owners of successful technology and manufacturing centred companies, allowing for more available cash flow to increase productivity and hence employment opportunities for the middle class. That is inarguable.

  • @sharper68 cutting taxes has helped. If not for the Bush tax cuts, we might very well be in 12.5% jobless territory. Wait, before you jump me about that, remember, Obamas defense of the bad economy right now is "if it wasnt for him, it could be a whole lot worse". So careful...

  • @calimar28 That is a false statement and can not be justified by any empirical data. It is pie in the sky and all statistics show that job growth shrank under his entire tenure. This is a mantra that the right likes to chant but it is simply not born out by facts.

  • @sharper68 Job growth shrank not because of any Bush tax cuts, but because factories were fleeing to China! (thanks Bill Clinton for that one). Facotries were scrambling to get out of this high tax, high regulation enviroment. And when the goverment got involved with hjousing, it caused the overspeculation that led to the ressecion. IJust liek student grants and loans are what drive up education costs. Whenver the govt gets involved...look out.

  • @calimar28 Wages have been flat or actually decreasing for the vast majority of Americans while the richest have got a great deal richer. Currently corporations are declaring record profits while their taxes are the lowest they have been in living memory. Giving them more does not create jobs as jobs are created by demand not the goodness of anyone's hearts. As long as the focus is to take money, jobs and services away from the middle class to give more to the rich we will suffer.

  • @sharper68 You know why wages have decresed for middle class? Because we have illegal aliens taking their god damn jobs, which you liberals SUPPORT, and driving down wages. I never hear a peep about that when your talking about "driving down wages". That's because your side wants more hispanic people so you get more votes. Your side is dishonest and is willing to sink the nation for a few votes.

  • @calimar28 What a joke, the wages decreasing does not have anything to do with the pet fantasy of the right that "illegals" are taking their jobs. This is just another in a long list of false talking points you keep spitting at me. "My Side" is not the one making up things and flat out lying all to serve the moneyed interests that own your movement. There is one side that is dishonest, yours. It is our side who is actually looking to protect the middle class and not just billionaires.

  • @sharper68 an estimated 15 to 20 MILLION illegals are in htis country now. It is estimated that they are responsable for at least 9 million jobs being taken. NINE MILLION JOBS! And Im not talking about just picking beans either...I'm talking about contruction jobs, and roofing jobs...good paying jobs. Do you think this is all fantasy? Do you think that America should be creating jobs for Mexico? When will your side put America first, instead of Mexico?

  • @calimar28 You are changing the topic and misrepresenting what progressives stand for while not answering the issue at all. No one defends illegal immigrants but you like all of your kind attack all migrants out of ignorance and bigotry legal or not. The reason wages have flat-lined is because the American worker (middle class) has been successfully devalued while the rich have been pampered. There is war on the middle class, your side fights multinational corporations and billionaires.

  • @sharper68 Oh on the "progressive side", you say that "no one defends the illegal immigrants"? ARE YOU SERIOUS?? No, you MUST be a troll. Liberals dont defend illegal aliens huh? Hmm..

Even you must realize how silly that sounded...

  • @calimar28 You can not tell me what I defend or not. It is same bull that progressives hate the military soundbite you trot out against the truth and all logic. No significant one defends illegal immigration but we do not attack all imigrants as rule either. The fact we are not bigots does not mean there is not a bounds of reason on this issue. I am pretty sick of people like you telling me what I think, you have NO clue.

  • @sharper68 So, 9 million jobs being held by illegals have nothing to do with the jobless rate and driving down wages? SERIOUSLY?

Oh come on. OH COME ON

  • @sharper68 If your not willing to conceed that illegals are taking American jobs, then your simply dishonest.

  • @calimar28 If your are not willing to admit that "illegals" have always been doing this in good times or bad and this issue has nothing to do with the current large unemployment numbers. You have your hand in the sand if you do not see this truth and do not care to really address the issue at hand.

  • @sharper68 That 9 million is a low figure...could be as high as 14 million jobs taken by illegals. But lets say 9 million to be nice.

No, this has not been happening all along to THIS SCALE. The real pouring in of the illegals started in the 1990's. And your still evading the question...does illegal aliens taking 9 million (or more) jobs effect the god damn economy? Would those 9 million jobs be better in the hands of American workers? Would that take our jobless rate to 0%? Yes, it would.

  • @calimar28 i AM NOT EVADING ANYTHING, you changed the subject and if you want to discuss immigration that is a different topic. I am simply rejecting your self serving premise that imagination is the primary issue causing unemployment. Your numbers strike me as something you pulled strait from your ass and the fact free nature of your entire spin supports that. Because collecting that number is next to impossible the value is in grave question. That it "started in the 1990's" is a joke.

  • @sharper68 NO illegal aliens IS NOT a different topic. It is the same topic when talking about the jobless rates in America. But you liberals refuse to admit it. You dont want to talk about it at all. The most you will say is 'yes immigration needs to be reformed, but". How reformed? By making the illegals, legal? How is that going to help the jobless rate? You support the illegals taking our jobs, and when we protest it, you libs say "oh, well lets make them Americans then". Brilliant.

  • @calimar28 You are wrong, no one not even the clowns you call your leaders are making the point you are making now. You are so off the reservation as to be on a different planet. You and yours have always railed against immigration legal or not and never let a crisis go to waste. You are just pushing the same garbage you always have with a new justification and it is transparent. Conservative have not tired to fix the issue either and it will not be solved by letting bigots take control.

  • @sharper68 Really? Nine million jobs in the hands of illegal aliens doenst effect American jobs? Wow, magic! How'd you do that?

  • @calimar28 nine million jobs that you lazy ass americans dont want because they are to hard for your lazyness or you are to proud to accept this jobs. Dont be so ignorant because every american is a decendant of a immigrant at one time or another. Most of this illegal aliens like you call them want to work and make a better life for themselves and most of them work harder than most americans cause they do the jobs that americans refuse to take.

  • @Atrofia2 Your Mexicans will be forced to leave so we Americans can have our jobs. Construction and roofing jobs and hotel jobs that Americans are not to proud to take. So stop with your lies, nobody believes them anymore.

  • @calimar28 Are you stupid, who told you i am mexican. That show how stupid and racist you are moron. They will not be force to leave because is anti-constitutional and sadly for you they are a big part of the economy in US. I dont know how stupid you are but if you havent noticed everyone is telling you in all comments that you are wrong. That should give you at least a small clue. You are a racist, ignorant, stupid, brainwashed prick and you are making a fool of your self. Grow up!

  • @Atrofia2 Wanna bet? THey will leave, as soon as we get more teaparty members in. It is very constitutional. Illegal aliens are BREAKING THE GOD DAMN LAW.

Too proud to take those jobs? You mean we are too proud to wrk roofing jobs that pay well, because illegals will do the job for 4 dollars an hour, and we are not allowed to take 4 dollars. So the employer fires Americans and hires Mexicans to save money, and you say we are "too proud" to work the job? Are you out of your fucking mind?

  • @calimar28 The fact that employers hire immigrants to do the hard jobs is the same reason why the economy is so fucked up and is what you are defending and what the TEA PARTY want to keep. Companies make american money. They send it ti caiman ISlands not paying taxes(because republicans voted for the loophole not to be fix) and they spend all that American money on other countries where they can hire people for $2 a day. The Tea fukers want this to keep happening. Thats what the debate is about.

  • @Atrofia2 The fact that employers can hire illegals for 4 bucks an hour is what drives them to hire them. Employers would go to jail if they paid 4 an hour to Americans. If you dump minimum wage, watch how fast illegals are out of work! But your side wont dump the minimum wage, will it?

  • @Atrofia2 Screw you and your class warfare bullshit. Im so sick and tiered of hearing it. You want to make more? THEN WORK AND TAKE RISKS AND MAKE A COMPANY DAMN IT, stop telling us we should steal from the rich and give it to the poor. Robin Hood was a fag in tights. And you liberals are embarresing and pathetic.

  • @calimar28 Somehow you have managed to not notice what your Tea PArty is doing to this nation and you are defending the enemy. Man wake up! everyone is trying to tell you that you are defending the wrong people. This whole comment section are people telling you that. Republicans destroyed their chance at the elections by defending this companies and publicly admiting that they prefer to screw the working class and give tax cuts to the coorporations that are draining the economy.

  • @Atrofia2 Lets have this debate for 2012. The Latino vote? Who cares? The white vote is WAYY MORE. ANd will stay that way once we begin deporting.

Why do Mexicans need whites so much? They cant make their own country good? They have to glom on to white people?

  • @calimar28 Do you know that latino vote have decided elections before. Do you know that on 2050 70% of US population will be immigrants and decendants from immigrants. Dude under what rock do you live. Your stupid republican fucks will not win the election. Im actually not sure that some of them will be on power for next elections. Thank to the internet most people in the country are not as stupid as you and have noticed what this people are doing. They have no chance. Good luck on 2012 retard

  • @Atrofia2 I doubt the latino vote will decide anything. They are concentrated in California and New York, and we are going to lose those states anyway, so who cares. What amuses me is how liberals never talk about getting the 'white vote'. Your side is hemmoraging whites to the GOP and independant ranks right now. not because whites are 'racist'...but because they dont want to be overun by latinos, just like Latinos would hate it if 2 million whites suddenly showed up in Mexico City.

  • @calimar28 Dude man you have to be the most stupid person alive after your TEA PARTY fucks. The fact that you dont want to accept the ton of evidence that said you are wrong makes you a joke. Are you been payed by republican fucks to Troll on youtube? Racist motherfuckers like you are the reason that 51% of US people are in the poor class. Do the math Tax the middle class + cut spending cuts = more people join the poor % cause they cant pay life cost here. Thats why poor % have grow so much

  • @Atrofia2 News Flash: Tea party CONTROLS todays politics. I bet you wish the democrats had that kind of juice in their base! If you think the 2010 elections were tough, just wait until 2012. The teaparty is still pissed about Obamacare, and your side shows zero interest in paying down debt. So 2012 the teaparty will finish what they started in 2010. I think you know it too. 100 years of liberal govt (both parties) got us 15 trillion in debt. Thanks.

    no more, no more.

  • @calimar28 Im not sure if you are aware but they are doing very bad at the moment. They are acting like little kids and their stupidity is costing them followers every second.

  • @calimar28 Actually, the U.S government have never been liberal.

If it did, we would be similar to Germany's economy "A.K.A We would still be making stuff instead of outsourcing".

I am glad you live in a fact free world.

  • @Neosaigo Wrong. Ever since 1913 the govt has been EXTREMLEY liberal. How about that wonderful tax bracket system we got? How about the federal reserve system? How about the entitlement system, medicare, medicade, welfare, etc - DOnt tell me this govt isnt liberal. And it has FAILED. THat's right, we are 15 trillion in debt, so socialism has failed.

  • One thing: the teaparty OWNS this nation, get used to it. Get good and god damn used to it, America has awoke! She has taken a look at the constitution and notices it is not being followed. Shame on you liberals who have run a liberal govt since 1913 and got us into this mess. Shame.

  • Until you liberals are willing to do something about the illegals and the border, you can screw off when it comes to corporations. MORE POWER TO THEM! Trust me, this is a battle you will lose.

  • It is not liberals holding up immigration reform alone and no one has love for illegals inspire of what you say.. The cons had power thru the early in the decade and did nothing about it. You blaming the entire issue on is pathetic and wrong..

  • @sharper68 Yes the cons did have power...the neocons. And we real conservatives hate them, just like you liberals hate your 'blue dogs". And this is why Bush is not popular among conservatives. He was a neocon.

  • @calimar28 Shrug, the racist spin from the group that "represents" you means they will never have significant control and that does my heart good. I was never a fan of the neo cons or the blue dog sell outs but your people have the same issues magnified many times by policy that is plainly counter productive for the vast bulk of America. I do not see your group as having realistic or well thought out answers to the complex problems that confound us and you rejecting George does not help you.

  • @sharper68 Yes, people who want the law enforced and limits to immigration enforced, must be racist. More bullshit labels from the liberal party that nobody even listens too anyway.

  • @sharper68 And yes illegals drive down wages. You have so many working in the construction industry for 4 usd an hour...undercutting the minimum wage and driving wages DOWN. You cant see that?

  • @calimar28 The ones making $4 an hour do not have their numbers factored into the system as they clearly work illegally. These people have always worked here and this issue existed long before the crisis. You blaming this entire job problem on immigrants is a clear example of your sides one dimensional thinking and the proof you do not understand the issue at hand. Immigration reform is something to be dealt with but has very little to do with our current fiscal issues.

  • @calimar28 I reject it. It is more likely competing with china and central America drove down wages than illegals who have always come here did. The truth is while wages have remained flat the rich have gotten much richer over the last 10 years and have not created jobs because of it. Your entire premise that give the rich more and they will make jobs is patently and proven false.

  • I actually started reading Johnston's book, but I couldn't finish it - it made me too angry (and not at him).

  • When millionaires demand their taxes be raised, and the government tells them to stop complaining, you know you are living in one SERIOUSLY FUCKED-UP COUNTRY.

  • It is a concept we understand immediately in video games - the higher you go, the more difficult to progress further. But that is not so for the top earners. The more money they have, the easier it is to earn MORE money!

Wealth does NOT create jobs; jobs create wealth. The wealthy will not create jobs because they have wealth, but to make more wealth, so tax wealth more % for money made over $1 million!

  • @chrlpolk

1% pay 37% of tax revenue

  • @Salvysahagun They also make about 37% of amassed income. People should pay more if they earn more. Wages for the majority of the population has stagnated.

  • @Moionfire

Why should you pay more if you earn more. that makes no sense.

Name one other service besides Government that charges people based on how much they make?

Personal Income tax is illegal anyway.

  • @Salvysahagun The income tax was added in the constitution. It is an amendment- hence it is LEGAL.

  • @Moionfire

wow... You really have never researched the law.

here is the definition of legal income

"The return in money from one's business, labor, or capital invested; gains, profits, salary, wages, etc."

    Nice try

and I love how you can't answer my other questions

  • @Moionfire Its not illegal to tax, it is illegal to tax in the manor that the tax code is set up now. Can you see why it might be illegal? Ill let you think about it.

  • @Moionfire Yes the 16th amendment was ratified on February 3, 1913 and the Federal Reserve Act was enacted on December 23, 1913. You don't find this a little strange? The income tax is used to pay the interest that is incurred when the Federal Reserve prints money and loans it to the government.

  • If one these nutters get in, its game over man! I fear for humanity.

  • that tax rate is no thanks to obama

  • David is correct, get rid of crony capitalism and then we can lower everyone's taxes. We should also cut spending in Medicare, Social Security and Military spending.

  • Nice try Cenk, but it wasn't until 1938 that a minimum wage was put in place which hit business hard and if it wasn't for WWII, we may have never recovered from it. Union wages and benefits and the dramatic increase in governmental programs have redistributed wealth in this country. So while the tax brackets have come done, the rich still give more and more and more and more to the poor. We need to get rid of government hand outs and THEN raise taxes if need be.

  • @KiheiLawyer Good bye to gov? surely thats exaggeration

  • Cenk, they've either adjusted your lighting or adjusted your makeup, you don't look like the blinding powder face they usually do you up to be. thumbs up for olive skin :P

  • I don't see why people want to give their hard-earned money to the Federal government anyways.if you want to help the poor, donate your money somewhere. Entitlement programs give people an excuse not to work and not to plan ahead.

  • @kdaviper well thats just wrong, why would you want to give you money roads, schools, police, fire and defense and many more. The thing about the gov is we only tend to see them when they have fucked up or when we are mad about something forgetting that in many cases even the water we drink is in some way protected by the thing we hate

  • @misticspear Well, I think our government should stop spending so much on "defense" (i.e. policing the world)

and the other areas you talked about are definitely not the federal government's responsibilities, except for the interstates. The water I drink would be better off without Federal intervention as well... it comes from an aquifer and is already safe to drink.

  • @kdaviper I dont think you have thought this through, if no one else has clean water then best believe they are coming for yours. I agree about bloated defense spending, interstate are important too because if not for them your life would change drastically considering in most places nearly everything is sent in on freighters. entitalment programs ARE planning ahead considering tax dollars go towards it. Stop fearing the idea of funding someone else's life thats not whats happening

  • @misticspear Hey water's not that hard to clean, and it's not that expensive to clean it. If my water weren't safe to drink, I'd just buy it off any company who had a reputation for providing clean safe water. That's how capitalism works. And I personally know several people who take advantage of different government assistance programs because they're lazy. Unemployment benefits are the root cause of the immigration problem in this country. There are jobs out there, but Americans wont take them

  • @kdaviper your argument is anecdotal at best i know many people how dont use the assistance in the way you said but does that make my argument better? No. Capitalism has nothing to do with quality its simply aggregated supply and demand. If no gov then what would be the standard for reputable? as a consumer you have little sway on your own; people would have to get sick or die to get the political capital to make any change. Regulation sets the standards once again not thought through.

  • @misticspear There is no demand for dirty water that makes people sick. There is demand for clean drinkable water however. Therefore, nobody would buy any water unless they knew it was clean and safe.

  • @kdaviper When the dollar bankrupts, a million dollars wont buy a pint of clean water. America will be 3rd world, and nothing can be done to stop it. It is a runaway train. We have liberals and even some republicans continuing the spending, and the govt programs, the refugee immigration, the welfare systems, etc - they wont stop until the dollar is dead.

All we can do is sit back and watch it happen. Hope and change? Are you kidding me?

  • @kdaviper There is no demand but the standard is set by regulation, you cant get around it it cost money and resources to harvest clean water. Same goes for energy its cheaper to do dirtier. The argument you have can only have a base in a situation where regulation puts the standard at an acceptable point. You think quality will be its best when everyone is trying to get this natural resource? Nope then it becomes survival of the richest because with a high demand and no standards prices soar.

  • Look at this bearded Marxist liar. Only Reagan lowered our taxes!

  • lol Seriously... Let's just get down to exactly what the Republicans' budget plan is... Cut entitlements, increase tax breaks to "job creators". Entitlements go to the poor and working class, tax breaks to "job creators" go to the wealthy, or at least very much well off. I mean... You CAN'T ARGUE AGAINST THIS SHIT... The Republicans want to balance the budget by making poor people poorer, and rich people richer... HOW THE FUCK IS THAT SUPPOSED TO HELP?

    Voting Republican is reTARDED.
