  • This was the best concert I have ever attended! SRV, BB King, Albert King @ Red Rocks! with my brother (now deceased) and sister-in-law - doesn't seem possible that it was so long ago. Thank you for posting claptonhendrix1 - wonderful memories of a wonderous night!

  • man i almost started crying after this. its such a shame he died. this is such a beautiful performance, thank you for posting.

  • no one is better than SRV. nobody

  • WOW! The best part of this, is at 6:15, when he hits and holds ONLY ONE F*&*%%ING BENDING! Amazing energy!!

  • there are guitar heroes who maybe are supposed to be even better, technically speaking, but this man....he makes that guitar sing. This is a wonderful piece of art.

  • Wow amazing version.. Little Wing has been one of my favorite songs since I was like 10 years old and still is!! RIP Stevie

  • check out a band called the tom hollister trio or th3...they have a 19 year old guitarist..........chris buck.......he is fucking awesome...like a young srv

  • he sounded like he was fucked up

  • almost 6 minutes into the song i got goosebumps like i never had in my life. sitting here in a dark room, i think i just have the best 9 minutes of experience out of anyone in the world at this moment.

  • Long ago this version of Littlle Wing by my Idol SRV inspired me to learn all his songs on my electric. This is the BEST version of Little Wing he's ever done. Glad it finally appeared on Youtube. Well done on the channel admins part =D

  • i'm fan of jimmy hendrix but i have to said this version is it so better than a original .

r-i-p stevie i'm sure u shine betewen a millions stars

  • Stevie and Jimi, my only gods.. Beautifull song!

  • I was there too, 5th row center, 3 grams o' shrooms, getting hit by pieces of wood when he destroyed his guitar, INSANE......

  • This has got to be the very best version of Little Wing, ever. You can hear that amp..Just hum min.

    Thanks for posting

  • Wow, how good was that?

  • nobody can play like that, league of his own

  • amazing!

    thanks for posting!

  • Wow this has to be way better IMO than the recorded version, oh man can you feel him juicing , and ooozzing soul,... my goodness Jimi would have done some amazing music with this guy but i guess only one good thing at a time...

    thanks for posting!

  • Awesome!! Thanks 4 posting. I was at this show with my bro at age 15 (my first big concert). Blues festival w/ BB King on 6-19-85 @ the most beautiful outdoor concert venue in the US. Can't even begin to describe how incredible an experience it was. Good times....

  • wow.. that must have been amazing :)

  • Man... You're so fricking lucky! Seriously! Would kill to have those memories :P

  • @slama32 Oh Ya! I also saw him in 1988 at an outdoor show in Manchester N.H. with Joe Cocker. It frikin blew me away. Big loss to music. R.I.P. S.R.V.

  • Incredible!

Amazing version of my favorite song! thanks for sharing!

Also agree with Theospeak1, 6:18 is the best part... undescribable!

(and I cant stop hearing it, omg!)

  • This is also on an SRV album called Stiletto Rain... I've got the whole album, meaning it's the whole show too. :P

  • never heard this version...no words capable to describe it.......thanks for posting it!

  • Musically, my favorite song. And by far my favorite rendition.

I love the point near 6:18 where he plays one note for eight solid measures, wrenching every bit of passion and emotion he can out of it. My jaw literally dropped the first time I heard it.

  • also my favorite part..... i love this song so much.

  • It's an incredible version, full of passion. 4:44 its also one of the best parts.

  • a mellower littlewing,until the end

  • Anyone know what he says at 1:47? "Life is a wonderful..."

  • " Life is a wonderful thing" I think

  • This is a great recording... The best on YouTube... Thanks for posting!

  • Thank you... this is my favorite SRV recording ever and I'm lucky to have it. Thanks for watching.

  • Speaking of B.B. King, I met his son. Also, my nephew used to work at Winstar Casino on the Oklahoma border, and he gave him a ride back to his hotel in the Van. I wish i would have been with him. My nephew didn't realize what a legend he was in the van with. lol...R.I.P. Stevie

  • OMG! Wow that Organ really makes this song sound so different but in a good way!! VERY GOOD!!! It's so peaceful. This is definitely in my top 5 favorite versions of Little Wing

  • Why great do ones die young?

  • Buetiful...just buetiful. And it came strait from his heart to, one thing that you dont c to often anymore.God bless you stevie and play on man!

  • I saw Muddy Waters, Kenny Wayne Shepard, Tommy Shannon, Chris Layton and all the blues legends (minus kenny wayne) at a jimi hendrix tribute. Good show. I just wish stevie could be there.....If there's one person I could talk to for 5 minutes to it'd be Stevie.

  • when was this because muddy waters died in 83. was it maybe buddy guy or bb king that you got confused with

  • stick to the material .he did it his own way but .itstill is beautiful

  • The combination of light organ and thrashing/emotional guitaring by yours truly is just amazing.

  • man stevie had so much soul...... so much energy and all he wanted to do was give it to all the people around him by the music he played. where has all the good music gone?

  • It died with that helicopter, sadly.

  • So it seems brotha. Saw B.B. King tonight and man that cat can play. Their still out there, just not getting the attention they should be.

  • Brotha, you're one lucky soul. I haven't seen B.B. yet, but I will make it in the future. Live the blues.

  • Yes I saw B.B. earlier this year and he was amazing. There are some good blues out there now. Back Door Slam and Joe Bonamassa are the best IMO. In fact, Joe was brought up by B.B.

  • Just when you start to think Stevie had exhausted every nuance out of all the amazing songs he played over and over again its like...BAM, heres a different interpretation all together. God Bless, Stevie. My hero.

  • I think Denver put him in this peaceful mood that he still could have all kinds of expression. It came out great.

  • Just Amazing!Speechless

  • He is one of my gutar influ...awesome vid!!

  • My absolute favorite version of my absolute favorite song. Incredible.

  • Just can't b satisfied.

    awesome.

  • GREAT!!! drum intro ...

  • this is to "wisdon of the idiot"- yeah....and i bet you could do better...haha

that's laughable. not on your best day could you come any where near the soul or technique of srv on his very worst....

hence your screen name i guess...

  • its slightly like more majorish

  • RIP...tks dud!

  • An in Denver. Who'd thunk..... ........ .....

  • Very Nice Montogue. I think about him touring everywhere imaginable.

And yeah, it's a shame he died... He died EXACTLY 3 years before I was born... Same day. Dang I'd kill to see him live.

  • yeah i've got it. wow me I would have loved to see him live

  • I was at this show at Red Rocks, me and my father; I was just a little kid then who loved the blues, If I can remember, Albert King, BB King, Bobby Bland and Bonnie Raite. were on the ticket. You brought back some memories; It was a great show, I still have the ticket stub to this day in my scrap book and the blues fest concert t-shirt. Thanks for posting this.
