  • Heyy Jumoke we are doing about the same thing that your up to! We are just getting started though and ran accross your videos on the related videos section! Do you have any pointers for losing and getting started with a vlog like this?

  • Hey Jumoke, how r u?I am fine,but am not as in shape as i wanna be and thus do not feel great. But its all good, eventhough i dont have money for the gym right now, i do like to walks from time to time and when the weather gets better will def. start running. Right now I stopped eating candy and chocolate and such (so hard!)Also stopped eating pork, actually i mainly eat chicken.I got a nice and easy chcken recipe if yr interested! Keep it up! Xx ps. I think you should throw that junk in the garbage because there is no way you are going to get where you want with those. That is just my thought.     As for me, not too much I can do with this disability other than maintain a healthy lifestyle and do a bit on the Wii...and going around town in the wheelchair does a bit, too. Haha. =)

    My update: Yesterday was 5 weeks since I've been serious in my weight loss endeavor. As of yesterday, I've lost 23 lbs. YAY! I have 200 to go...wow...that seems like a lot. But it's one day at a time.

    I've been eating healthy (no more fast food, except subway very very occasionally, no soda, no desserts or obvious sugars...soon to cut out grains for a time). I even joined a gym 3 weeks ago and at first hated going. I absolutely love it now! :)

  • i think if you really wanna lose the weight you should do a lot of cardio and defenetely diet. running, biking, it all really works

  • Sucess takes determination! Wish I could get a trainer too! Maybe someday. But I walk for 30 minutes a day. Then I get on a stationary bike for 30 minutes and lift some weights about 3 times a week. I survived congestive heart failure .... so I gotta do it to live or else! There are always bumps in the road, its never easy, but keep going! Best wishes on your path to sucess!

  • Great job! I am working on losing weight (24 pounds down so far!), but that's mostly due to dietary changes... not a workout plan. I am having a lot of trouble getting motivated (and "finding time") to do it! Ugh!

  • 24 lbs is great! Way to go!

    I found that my motivation has to be that I don't have a choice. If I don't do this...nothing is going to change...and I might even die. In 5 weeks, I've lost 23 lbs. I feel so SO much better! Don't get discouraged! You can do this! Not only that, but think about how you have to. Only you can do it for yourself and you are TOTALLY WORTH IT!!! Allow yourself to whine when you don't feel like exercising, but then be an adult and tell yourself to do it anyway. :)

  • I used to be in tremendous shape but over the past 5 months or so I've really gotten lazy. I know if I keep this up it'll just get harder and harder to get the look I had back so I really do need to start running/lifting again. Great to see your working hard, Jumoke. It's inspiring! Keep it up!

  • I want to be healthier. Started drinking more water and because I've been bedridden and on oxygen, I've been taking things slow. Walking in place and doing some arm lifts. Nothing major yet. Keep up the great work, Jumoke!

  • I would not say I am in shape.. but I am working towards it. I am taking spin classes and need to work my way up to a 5k (doing couch to 5k)

    It is a struggle everyday but I did not get overweight overnight so it wont come off that way either. Gotta stay positive and maintain this healthy lifestyle I am working towards :)

  • Spin classes are awesome Jumoke. You just need to go and your own pace and expect your butt to hurt for the first week. :) You can burn easily 600 calories per exercise. One spin class a day for 5 days a week and you will instantly burn 1 lbs a week.

  • im down 120 pounds with a long way to go. shayloss is ok..olinseloss rules but i will have to keep going for a long time. like you said its not a diet its a life style. if you get bored in the gym..go outside!

  • I feel u about getting bored @ the gym!! I decided im not going there anymore for the same reason. Im just gonna play my Wii, i suggest that!!

    I try to eat mostly fish and brown carbs, and lots of snacks (like eat multiple times per day!). I only drink water. I think that helps ALOT! Basic stuff.

    I am trying to lose weight and am in much better shape than I thought i was!! Although I just started jumping rope and found that it takes alot more work to do that!

  • Thanks I've been training but I still feel unprepared. I'll let you know how it goes! You should totally do one, cause apparently they are huge and people travel all over to participate in them. It'd be cool to get everyone doing a small marathon! :)

  • Healthy Way Of Life - sounds better ! well keep it up if you are feeling a lil slack then take some weight off and do small parts throughout the day rather than do as much as you can in one whole goal you might have more energy, just a thought do what you body is telling and no it's not food food food LoL !

    for me i'm just chillin' having fun playing AvP on xbox360 , watchin youtube vids and working - and taking a really LONG time-out from making any YT-vids that's about it, stay kool jumoke !

  • My favorite thing at the Gym is the elliptical runner. I pushed myself one day in one hour I burned 1179 calories! I have to do that consistently Maybe I will lose more than I am currently!

  • Jumoke I am on the Chalean Extreme exercise program. i started on Jan 2010. so far I have lost 20 pounds. I did 3 weeks of south beach and now I just eat healthy. I have video blog on facebook but you have to be on my friends list to see them. Send me a message and I'll e-mail you the info. I think that it is great what u are doing 2 stay motivated and also help others. Have u ever thought about entering a weight loss contest 2 help u stay motivated? Hang in there we r proud of u.

  • @JumokeTV I did raw foods last year for about 50 days. I lost so much weight and felt really good and I was happy all the time but I ended up gaining most of it back. Have you ever heard of the full body detox from dherbs? It lasts about 21 days and you eat raw foods and take the supplements but it's all natural herbs.You would lose so much weight.   • I can tell by the comments this video is getting that people are really tuning into what you are saying. It's hard to get that balance between routine and keeping things changing enough to keep yourself interested. I always tend to go too far on the routine side. Terry

    but i tend to get extremely bored after a few weeks of a routine.

    But in the same sense, i'm not necessarily out of shape

    I could afford to drop a few though

    I may have just found something to push me to commit in this channel though :)

  • I try to work out and stuff.. I go to the gym 5 days a week and I've started running. My eating is still pretty bad, but better than it used to be. I lost 25 lbs since october.

  • Hi Jumoke! Great life plan. I'm menu planning my own now after 1 year of nutritional counseling with a nutrition team. Right now I'm on a February fast. Drinking lots of vegetable smoothies, fruit smoothies, water. protein drinks. Energized!
