Back in the day 89-91ish, Ginger was known to join his mates the Red Dogs onstage on occasion. Anyone lucky enough to have been at those Marquee gigs, etc, might be interested to know that footage of said band has recently been rediscovered and is now on youtube. Do a search for "Red Dogs Working Late" to bring up the video for the single or "Red Dogs Super Channel" for two live tracks and small interview. Hope it brings back memories for some of you.
@jrmarrero96 I don't think anyone's ever given an official reason, but other members have hinted that CJ was made a scapegoat for the band's various problems at the time. As far as I know CJ did play on the original demo of this song (which I've been trying to track down).
@ca1977a CJ played on all but five songs on P.H.U.Q. I am pretty sure he played on this song but I am not 100%
I also checked on a few sites and all I can find is that C.J's sacking was a "record company" suggestion that Ginger took and later regretted of course.
@jrmarrero96 If memory serves, the songs he *didn't* play on were I Wanna Go (the released version), V-Day, Just In Lust, Naivety Play and one other, possibly Woah Shit. As far as the sacking goes, I get the impression that Ginger and Battersby were trying to modernize and diversify the band's sound, so perhaps there was conflict over that.
Never heard of these guys, They're very cool! Reminiscent of 80's post-punk, (TheJam, Husker Du etc...) Good stuff! Wonder if they're coming to San Diego...
I LOVE THE WILDHEARTS! Loved them in 94 andl ove em now! Dodgy bit in between, but who hasn't? God bless the Wildhearts, wish I could see em again on this tour, but Im gratefull they just stil laround!
Wow...great song...way too good toget played on American pop radio during the 90s!! Just shows how sad the state of top 40 radio was during the 90s that this couldn't make a dent on the charts here.
One of their best songs, it will forever remind me of going to see them at the Forum in London, getting pissed during the support act, going to the toilet and standing at the urinal trying to make sense of the advert hung above it, then I just heard this song starting and ran back to the floor.
When they were in Australia last year Ginger said they would be back so often we would get sick of them. Personally I think I'd run out of money before I got sick of them :)
I remember thinking the first time I saw this that maybe the The Wildhearts were gonna go global and get the recognition they deserved. Shame they didn't. Still one of my favourite bands.
May interest fans.....

Cool to see him touring on guitar with mike monroe. Three legends on one stage; ginger, mike, and sam fucking yaffa. True rock and roll.

The Wildhearts need to play Sonisphere this year. Therapy?, Terrorivision and The Wildhearts would be perfect.

That would be superb but Ginger is out on the road with Michael Monroe at the moment. I think the Wildhearts are reconvening later in the year.

Lovely stuff - I saw these guys support AC/DC at Wembley back in the 90's and they were awesome.
Sour ('cos no one had heard of them or bought their album except me) but fantastic and the perfect accompaniment to some kinetic Aussie rock.
