this was just an initial product. i guess to test the market? the real innovation comes in 2009. they ARE putting a camera on it. the printers will be built in to a digital camera and you can print out pictures instantly just like the analog one. hope it's good. i can't wait:)

If Polaroid built a camera into this, wouldn't it be the same as an Instant Camera? I guess they wanted something that would work with a wide array of cameras/cellphone cameras so that you wouldn't have to BUY an actual Polaroid camera when you have one already and you just want a printer.

i'm so torn about this. i wish polaroid could keep making the original instant film and this. the instant printer seems cool but having your camera "print" the photos is cool too. why can't we have both?!

they ARE making a camera that prints your photos too. it comes in 2009 and I really hope its good. hey maybe polaroid can get enough profit from it and keep making those oldie films we know and love, just for the love of it.

On the one hand it's nice to see a colour thermal printer. On the other... well, like Polaroid cameras, I'm sure the "paper" will be expensive, and while it's pretty trivial to tell how much "polaroid paper" you have left, I don't think it's really any more convenient.

And, yes, cheesy, but it was nice to see that little unguarded moment.
