  • lets get something clear. they said these things because this is what they actually think .they dont like anybody, and have no compassion for anybody . these are not abherrations. this is what they actually think. one can only hope the republicans find a way to separate themselves from these radical haters. the democracry needs a real debate, not just between liberals and radical hatemongers. conservatives in other countries actually support health care.

  • open your eyes people I am not liberal i am not conservative, i am not democratic, or republican, im not christian, nor am i muslim, jewish, buddhist or, hindu. I am an american. but after what ive been seeing im almost ashamed to take that title. so in the immortal words of bill and ted be excellent to each other. peace out.

  • What Olbermann doesnt show you in the first one to skew it like he always does is the floor was opened up to questions and limited time, so instead of hearing a pity party everyone wanted to have ample time for their questions. Thats why they are shouting "ASK YOUR QUESTION" But when they all had their concerns she was to be more special? Did he tell us of the other disabled people in the crowd? Of course not.

  • DIE CONSERVATIVE RETHUGNICANS, DIE!!

Go rot in the bowels of Hell where you all truly belong!!

  • That guy in the hat should take his wife/sister back to their camper an shut the F up. Wait till there mentally handicap children get here he will see then. As for fat Homer in the back Hey dumbass she has every right to speak. Only if you could read. The Constitution gives her that, asswipe.

  • im english and thank god we dont have to suffer this kind of thing over here. lets hope your changes go through so you can hopefully have a system close to ours. everyone has the right to health care at source.

  • Hey conservatives, Health Care reform has passed. FUCK YOU AND SUCK ON IT!!!

  • Man's inhumanity to man. For those who have health insurance, life is good. those who can't afford it, they can just go fuck themselves. More proof that Americans are the greediest people in the world. It's also proof that America IS NOT the greatest country in the world.

  • @TIMOTHYSAARINEN

I can't believe I'm saying this, but we're steps away from passing North Korea as the worst country in the world.

  • @TIMOTHYSAARINEN In the film Collision Christopher Hitchens talked about how nothing is better and more riveting than a civilized debate where each side engages in a sort of collaborative deduction in the form of ideas, concepts, and evidence to arrive at the truth. He also said it is unfortunate that in the US it seems so many people's Idea of debate is to engage in a shouting match riddled with insults where the object is not to interject ideas or evidence but to drown the other person out.

  • This isn't conservatism. It's carefully manufactured hysteria.

  • I think this guy is kidding.

  • Your comments are absolutely disgusting. Grow up!!!!!

  • wow. incredible. what's wrong in the US?????

That's not my second home as I got to know it.

    It's so sad.

  • Those hecklers should be raped with a knife.

  • @Purge187 Now, now let's not resort to violence. Besides these people are bought and paid for by the insurance companies. I think showing their stupidity and cruelty is enough for them. When I was at a town hall, I noticed how many people were defending insurance companies even though I was explaining to them the damage they do to our health. Corporatism kills our health, not capitalism.

  • True. Capitalism isn't the problem--it's oftentimes the capitalists themselves who are to blame. A lot of these town hall disruptions were indeed fueled by fear-mongering propoganda, and this incident made my blood boil.

  • I agree, I wish people would know that. And I also agree with you that these disruptions are due to uneducated folks and misleading propaganda. We need to educate the public instead of talking down to them. This incident is indicitive of the nature of man.

  • I wouldn`t say capitalists since communists are guilty of the same thing. The root of the problem is politicians (Rep and Dem) who demonize things so much that it evokes this kind of response from otherwise decent people. I think without a politician telling them what to fear and hate they`d be different and in their own way good people.

  • Obama will have a failed presidency. It is death by a thousand paper cuts. (That's probably the number of times he and his cronies have blamed Bush since he's been in office.) Next year will be a landslide Republican win in the mid-term elections and in 2012, America will wake up much like they did after 4 years of Carter and kick Obama and the Czars back to Chicago.

  • why is everyone so angry? We are all in the same boat either way we will all either die suddenly or need healthcare all I see is poor people attacking poor people while the rich facilitate the fight

  • Some people just need to be punched in the head

  • I don't understand why disabled participants in a town hall meeting should be treated differently than any other participant. We all know how crazy these meetings have been. This commentary is an insult to the alleged victim here.

By the way, Keith, you sniveling hypocrite, Rush Limbaugh is also disabled. That doesn't keep you from blasting him on a routine basis.

  • Theres a big difference between treating someone equally and bullying them. These loudmouths are coached on intimidating people. How would you feel if that guy was yelling at your mother that way?

  • Why is it that when non-liberals try to make liberals understand that all people should be treated equally, liberals never understand?

It's abundantly clear that this was what I was attempting to do, SuperLiberal, but like liberals, you missed such an obvious point.

Is there a liberal gene which prompts liberals to bigotry?

Americans still ask, "Can liberals see people as people, rather than as representatives of some race or gender, or in this case, physical status?"

    2/2

  • Keep laughing samanthaofdubai, The definition of a Liberal is based on preserving individual Liberty's. It seems to me the only Bigot's are Conservatives. They are the party of one homogenized viewpoint. You have to believe what the leaders believe or your out. Republicans are the party of: Anti-Gay, Anti-Muslim, Anti-FreeSpeech, shall I continue?

  • Liberals are all abought equality. If you Conservatives treat everyone more equally than Liberals then what abought Gay rights. Conservatives since the 1970's have been trying to strip the Gays of equal rights using the Bible and religion as their reason.

  • Yeah, Liberals are all about equality: equality by force. This is the land of equal opportunities, not equal outcomes. They didn't heckle her because she was handicapped, but rather for her opinions, so cut the bullshit.

  • TheSuperLiberal,

    You asked:

"How would you feel if that guy was yelling at your mother that way?"

That's not an unreasonable question; I'll answer it.

I would be highly upset. However, my feelings on the matter wouldn't change if she were handicapped. (She's not.)

You want to talk about differences.

There is a big difference between requesting that all people be treated equally, which was all I was doing, and defending bullying, which I was not doing.

    1/2

  • Rush has two disabilities. He can't hear and he has no conscience!

  • @TheSuperLiberal thats a typical liberal msnbc answer, you just danced around something put in your face with hate and mimicking.

  • Mangina9000:

I've been enjoying your exchange with the others; you have provided the entertainment. (You are also getting your ass kicked.)

As charged, you make your opponents points better than they do.

For every time that some conservative pundit pushes the issue of race, some liberal does it 100 times.

The exceptions prove the rule, my friend.

Skin color is an issue that we liberals struggle with. We're the ones with issues here.

    It's our evidence of imperfection.

  • "

Skin color is an issue that we liberals struggle with. "

Nice trolling! Not very clever though. I'll pass.

  • Mangina9000,

I don't blame you for leaving the conversation, given the beating your were taking. (At least you had sense enough to go.)

Trying to convince educated, reality-based Americans (that would be most of us) that liberals aren't America's biggest racists is like convincing us that Elvis Presley isn't dead.

You're not going to convince us that things aren't true, when we have seen for years that they are.

Next time, try to sell something more plausible.

  • What? I haven't gone anywhere, and if recycling weak talking points from Mike Savage is your idea of a "beating," by all means let the laughs continue.

Oh, the Elvis thing, great analogy! Please continue to keep the real world enthralled with the tortuous mental Olympics that you embarrassments have proven time and again to have a monopoly on.

  • Republicans are dumb fascists.

  • Heckling happens from both sides. Get over it.

  • Please point to a instance where health care reform supporters of the Obama persuasion are mocking a sick person, thanks.

  • Can you find more than one instance of people against Obama's plan heckling a sick person?

It'd be like me pointing to the guy who bit off the finger of someone protesting Obamacare and saying that people who support Obamacare bite off fingers. Let's get real.

  • That was a really retarded analogy. Perhaps you have difficulty expressing yourself with word.

I asked you a pretty valid question, but please continue living on your own planet.

  • Not really. What I was saying was just because a news station reported it, doesn't mean it's widespread.

And to answer your question, I probably couldn't find what you asked for. Does it really matter? No, because you could probably only find one instance of this.

Have you been to any town hall meetings on healthcare? I've been to one. Both sides heckled. It was annoying when both sides did it. So quit acting like one side is clean.

  • "Not by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character."

This was the maxim of the Civil Rights Movement. The whole point of the struggle was to get everyone to see everyone as individuals, rather than representatives of a race. This can't happen as long as liberals insist that we classify people by the color of their skin, and subsequently exact racist policies to that end.

The Civil Rights Movement was a baby that was left on the doorstep of conservative America.

  • "This can't happen as long as liberals insist that we classify people by the color of their skin,"

You have completely misinterpreted the civil rights movement. The idea that it is "liberals" alone who recognize race is absolutely absurd, and you know it.

  • Sometimes, when liberals are referring to someone's skin color, I don't even know that they are doing so. They have to explain themselves to me later, as I am not on their racist page.

Liberals don't understand that their problem is not everyone else's problem. They think everyone else is racist, simply because they are.

So when you write that we need to admit to being racist 9000, speak for yourself—BECAUSE YOU ARE, you freakin' racist. Thanks for the confession.

    3 of 3

  • "Typical liberals," thought much of America. They see the election as historic because they see skin color as important. Non-liberal America was behind in this lecture because of their tendency toward "color-blindness."

Growing up, I only had friends. Not until I entered college was I taught by some liberal college professor to classify them by their race.

    2 of 3

  • Take a deep breath, now get an education.

  • "They see the election as historic because they see skin color as important."

If it's not important, than why are all the previous politicians white? I know you aren't just stupid, you're just using race as a kind of currency to win a hapless and ignorant argument, born of your own disdain for left political beliefs and I imagine your own humiliation at college.

  • Democratic nominees get 85% of the Black vote, regardless of their skin color. There are economic reasons for this.

You suggest that Blacks are basing their votes on skin color in supporting Obama.

This supports Kate's point. After all, as evidenced by polling data and referenda voting trends, Black Americans ARE more liberal than most Americans.

    THANK YOU!

BTW--I only notice people driving into my neighborhood. I'm not liberal enough to note their skin color.

    2/2

  • Mangina9000--Can you even see that you are making your opponents' points better than they are?

Your mere ability to note that "all previous politicians are white," and to hold that this has some significance, and ability that non-liberals don't possess, is a sign that you are more racist than most of America.

Kate mentioned that liberals are more color-focused than non-liberals, and you responded by asking her why 98% of Black America voted for Obama.

    1/2

  • So you mean to say that all the conservative pundits saying "Are we ready for a black president?" has nothing to do with this, right? I just can't help laughing at how ignorant you are. You know nothing about the civil rights movement. You use "race" as if they were currency to be exchanged in some sort of debate.

Honestly, you are on the losing side of history. Your way of life is over. I'm sorry, but it is. Your way failed, miserably. It sucks. Stop embarrassing yourself.

  • It's therapeutic to watch libs like you incessantly reveal their over-the-top racism, and then act like everyone has your affliction.

  • Silly man. Learn a little reading comprehension.

  • Mangina9000,

    FYI:

Last November, as people were hearing of our "historic" election, much of America didn't even know what was so "historical" about it. To most of us, it was just another election.

I scratched my heard as I heard Keith Olbermann equivocate Obama's election with putting a man on the moon. Only later when the liberal explanation came to me that I was able to understand that the election was so "historic" because we had elected a black man as president.

    1 of 3

  • I suggest you start by reading Race Matters by Cornell West. That's a good start. Even Shelby Steele would find your assertions ridiculous.

  • blacksamcooke,

You are having and exchange with someone who is recommending that you read one of Cornell West's books. This tells you that you are arguing with a certifiable dupe.

Cornell West is simply some clueless, out-of-touch bozo who gets too much press.

Only people like Mangina9000, who have the media do his thinking for him, would believe that West had any credibility at all.

Ignore 9000's advice, and stay in the real world.

  • I am in the real world thank you.

Cornell West is a reputed intellectual, you are a soft minded AM radio retard.

    Case closed.

  • whiteybites:

    You wrote:

"Cornell West is simply some clueless, out-of-touch bozo who gets too much press."

Congratulations! This is the best description of Cornell West I have ever heard.

He's nothing more than some wannabe intellectual who makes money off issues which exist only in the minds of liberals.

This charlatan makes complete fools out of people on my side of the aisle.

West may as well be some televangelist like Pat Robertson who preys off idiots.

  • Actually Mangina, race recognition is largely limited to liberals. To conservatives and moderates, the practice is virtually unknown.

  • Um, no. Tell that to black people who drive to move into your neighborhood. I mean, obviously the only reason why 98% of black people voted for Obama is because they've been brainwashed by liberals, right? Or perhaps its because they are lazy, and enjoy the benefits of welfare, right? Being blind to racism and race does not make you an enlightened person.

  • You've hit the nail on the head, Kate! Thanks for sharing with clueless Mangina what most of America has known for some time.

  • kate,

There is one reason (among many) why "race recognition" is "virtually unknown" among conservatives and moderates.

These political demographies are more likely to reside in the business world than are liberals.

The business world has to work with a merit-based approach, which is mutually exclusive to a race-based approach.

Businessmen are not trained to look as skin color; this would lose money for them.

Liberals have different programming, and they are trained as racists.

  • I love how Repubs. and Cons. (who came up with the 'southern strategy' to get racist southern Dems. that were mad over civil rights to become Repubs. and whose party is now 90% white) call Liberals (republican and democrat) who fought for civil rights racists. Every conservative I hear call a liberal a racist, I IMMEDIATELY know that they are projecting their own racism. So please, keep it up Cons., I need to know who has a secret set of white sheets in the back of their closet.

  • kefluv,

    You're projecting your own ignorance.

    Please take racism seriously.

  • Most people do not watch keith for this reason. He is making wide brushes with his show. With a .01 of American watching keith need fresh air.

  • Keith Olbermann is just another racist liberal.

  • How so?

  • This brings me to racism.

Who are the people who are always preoccupied with racism, and calling others racists?

That would be Keith Olbermann and the liberals. Unwittingly, they continue to reveal that they are perhaps the biggest racists in modern America. All of the commentators on MSNBC, as well as the entire staff of commentators on CNN and Fox do not obsess on racism as much as he.

    This is how so.

    Flint

    Dubai, United Arab Emirates

    End

  • But then if everyone who publicly stands in opposition of racism are racists themselves, then how does one oppose or speak out against racism? Or anything immoral for that matter?

I mean, is there a way for non-racists to decry racism?

  • Comment removed

  • To finally answer your question, 11111110, immoral activity should be decried when it actually exists among the accused and the situation merits attention. With racism, liberals are nothing more than the physicians who need to heal themselves.

(I guess I vented in this reply.)

    6/6

  • If I understand correctly, you are saying that not everyone who uses derogatory racial terms are racist. I'm glad that those terms don't necessarily offend you, but I don't think I agree.

Slandering a person based on their skin color surely signifies that the slanderer considers race itself something to be derided. At the very least it is a strong indication.

  • Excellent point, 11111110.

Using a racial slur shows the ability to note and classify people by skin color. Classifying people arbitrarily, as liberals do, is bad. (On the other hand, if I were committing a crime, I guess it would be necessary to describe me.)

However, leftists go beyond frivolous skin color classifications. They use these classifications to deny people opportunity.

    THIS IS RACISM.

Calling me a nigger does not deny me opportunity, and it is not racism.

  • 11111110,

BTW--I didn't write that calling me a nigger didn't offend me. I wrote that is wasn't racism.

When racism, once a term used to describe segregation, becomes a term to describe name-calling, or becomes a term for liberals to throw around, then the seriousness of the term is diminished.

I want people to understand that my grandfather suffered far more than being called a name.

That said, ignorance often does offend me, and calling me a nigger would qualify.

  • Racism isn't merely segregation, and I don't agree that using the term widely diminishes it.

The existence of "race" itself is racism. There is no "race." Race was something created so that Christians could enslave with a clear conscience. At the core of our nation are unspoken issues of race. Everybody who has been poisoned by race in this country has these issues, and is therefore racist. What we need is to admit being racist instead of sanctifying these words and paralyzing discourse.

  • Mangina9000,

Your memory of history matches mine. Thanks for the reminder, it is helpful.

However, for many of us, this racism died long ago.

  • How can someone use the same word to describe what my grandfather endured (segregation) to what I have endured (being called a nigger)? My grandfather and I are not victims of the same crime.

Calling someone a racist simply because he or she calls me a nigger is to change the meaning of the word "racism"—and that's what we have done.

As a result, we can no longer use the word to communicate what my grandfather endured, which was far worse than being called a name.

    5/6

  • Calling people racists simply because they don't use palatable language makes light of racism.

Hence, on balance, liberals calling conservatives racists is like Hitler calling Jesse Jackson anti-Semitic. (Hitler analogies are so 2009, aren't they?)

    4/6

  • Today, that would be liberal policy. (See affirmative action and diversity promotion are measurable forms of racism.)

Throwing out racial slurs such as nigger, spic, chink, etc. does not satisfy the criteria for racism. People who do this are not saying that they would deny anyone anything because of the color of their skin. (I'm not saying that such people are not racists. Some of them may be. However, this is no measurable evidence of it.)

    3/6

  • Slavery and segregation made no secret of their racist intent. On the face of them, they employed racism. Indeed, they had to do so to be implemented at all.

Announcing that you are going to deny people university admission, employment, social access, etc., because of the color of their skin, and then following through on such a pledge is, by definition, unambiguous, self-professed racism.

    2/6

  • 11111110,

I would like to apologize for my initial response to you. I have removed it.

You asked an intelligent question, and I failed to address it, let alone answer it.

Traditionally, racism is not measured by what we suspect, but rather by what we know. It is quantified by tangible activity.

    1/6

  • Those who whine about nudity on television are the same ones that enjoy it when they are alone.

For the past two decades, it has been increasingly held that those who blast homosexuality harbor some fear of this inclination within themselves.

People who endlessly make the same accusation are often "projecting" their own issues, and in so doing, they tell us more about themselves than those they accuse.

    3/4

  • With this, countless societal observations have been made. I'll list the more common ones.

Whenever people decry alcoholism, and incessantly label others as alcoholics, they are often struggling with their own alcohol problem.

Whenever people complain about adultery, and call others adulterers, they are often discovered to be so indulging in the activity themselves.

    2/4

  • DameDiabolique,

I'll start by writing that you have an awesome user name and a cool channel.

    Now, to your question.

Whenever accusations are made, conventional wisdom calls upon us to examine the accuser. This maxim transcends political philosophy, and I have heard it embraced by both Keith Olbermann and Rush Limbaugh. (Rare common ground for these two, no doubt.)

    1/4

  • Hats off to the handicapped lady for not letting herself be bullied by the fat guy.

  • This so called debate on healthcare merely shows how unintelligent we Americans are. The rest of the world is, in a disgusted way, laughing at us. This ugliness, which resides within us, the ugliness that is cultured like a nasty bacterial colony in a lab Petri dish, nurtured by the Republican Party and the corporatocracy that they suck up to, is something we should be ashamed to reveal in public. Our nation and its morality that we once felt proud of, is now nothing but a matter of history.

  • Speaking on behalf of the rest of the world, which I have no right to do: Yep. That about sums it up.

Mind you, most of us got the message when you started slobbering over torture. This is just driving the point home.

  • Hi im from australia. This is the most disgusting thing iv ever seen. I really feel sorry for the liberals in your country, how do you put up with this? why dont you just migrate?

  • Putting myself in the opposite role, imagining myself as one considering immigration to the United States, images like this one and others were seeing in the so called health care reform debate, would certainly make me hesitate on such a move. Is the US the worst place in the world to live? Not by a long shot. Is the US the best place in the world to live? Obviously not; not by a long shot. The indoctrination we citizens of the US go through as children is, in my opinion, worthy of questioning.

  • GodlessGuy,

The United States is the best place in the world to live, and the entire planet views our health care system with envy.

  • So you've spent what - 6 months to a year living in every other country in the world? A reasonable amount of time to evaluate each country and come to such a conclusion. And your how old - between 98 and 196 years old? As mama says "Indoctrinated is as indoctrinated does."

  • All I can say is thank God my family and I don't live in America. If we lived there my sister would be dead as she's got numerous disabilities. How's that for your so-called great health care system?

  • ace,

I hope all American liberals take your advice and migrate. I would much rather have them spread their hatred and their racism in other countries rather than my own.

  • These fuckers need to be exiled.

  • these are the same people who elected W,BUSH.oops,i forgot Bush wasn't elected in 2000.he was selected. these Bushies shoved Bush down Americans throats and now they are shoving Health Insurance Companies down everyones Throats.

  • wow these people are so deep in the fire they dont even know.......

  • If people were heckling like this at a Repiblican event they would be forcibly removed and probably beat up by cops.

Teabaggers/anti-healthcare types: if you can't behave like civilized adults at public events, STAY THE FUCK HOME.

  • People like these hecklers make me embarassed to be an American

  • Why are republicans such horrible, stupid, disgusting people? I don't get it

  • health care is going to change.

deal with it you fucking republican faggots

  • Too bad Obama is working for corporate interests instead of us.

    Sanders/Feingold 2012

  • Corporate interests? No. Siding with the health insurance companies would be working for the corporate interests. Do you even know what it fucking means to say someone is working for the corporate interests? Seriously. On what planet do you spend most of your time?

  • Uhh have you been paying attention to the news lately? Obama has been trying to please private insurers and Republicans while he pisses on progressives.

  • Joe,

Fiscal conservatism is the only agent of progress society can have.

  • Fiscal conservatism is codeword for "Cut everything but spend a shitload of money on the military."

  • hey, less of the fag*ots stuff - hate speech is just plain nasty. Otherwise, I agree with your health care sentiment.

  • Isn't one of the signs of a psychopath the inability to sympathize with others?

Republican or democrat, you can be liberal either way. And those people on display is not a conservative and a legit opposing view, it's just flat out cooperate greed, psychopathy. Narcissism can be another word to describe it.

But the point stands: they have no empathy, and it's both sick and scary, even as a person from another country.

  • ODonnell hits it on the nose. I blame political leaders for standing by and even inciting this anger while people treat each other this way. None of those "leaders" seem willing to pull people together and do this thing right...for once.

  • If the goverment is actually "killing" those idiots, just like their dumb right wing sheep propaganda says, i'm ok with it. That fat "ask the question!" douche deserves a week in a north korean prison.

  • Oh this is so sad.

  • would Jesus have heckled her? no. Republican hypocrits.

  • blameless of themselves, intolerance towards everyone else....

the more you learn of the right wing, the less there is to like.

  • There you go. Right wing sympathy.

That is all the proof we need.

  • Republicans as a whole do not care for anyone but them self's and big business. Republicans can NOT see past them self's.
