They have the same sized cabin, Euro cabins are not wider. You obviously need to read up a little more. American trucks have up to 810 Hp CAT, and Cummins engines for oversized loads, and use TANDEM, and TRIDEM axels for maximum towing, and weight capacity. Why do you think Aussie road trains use American trucks?

All in all American trucks are very good, no question, but somehow 'just' for American conditions, or Australian ones. US trucks would have problems in many parts of Europe, like in the Norwegian Mountains in winter, or old cities like for example in Germany, Italy or France with narrow streets.

European trucks can be found (ouside Europe) in many Asian countries, southern America, New Zealand, and also some in Australia or the US (like Volvo)

I believe Volvo trucks is an independent company, Volvo autocar is owned by Ford indeed. Daf trucks is owned by Paccar, which means that Kenworth and Peterbilt are available with Daf MX engine, so in that case, yes it's complex.

Sorry to say this but canadian trucks are the best because we can pull 2 3 4 5 axle trailers and carry up to 100 thousand pounds. Usa trucks carry 45 thousand on a 2 axle van trailer

Average Euro trailer: 3 axles and 6 tires while US trailers have 2 axles and 8 tires. Weight limits US trucks generally to 80,000 pounds but in Canada it is 100,000 or 120,000 lbs, so many Canadian trailers have 3 axles but look IDENTICAL to US trailers, still big fucking boxes. It took the US to make a good Volvo, VT 800 series.

The problem why the EU is accepting longer trucks is, according to their own statement, that many roads in the EU are not suited for trucks longer than 18m. For example it would be extremely difficult to pass a truck of 30m length in Poland. It would be to dangerous. The US roads are better developed.

The big sleepers you see on US trucks are usually not possible/practical in Europe if you want to keep on making money, considering the length restrictions that are imposed by law and driving conditions. A bigger truck simply means a smaller trailer ergo payload.

Thats the big drawback of obsolete european laws. It forbids to increase length of a truck even if its proven that a nose increases the survivability of the passengers of the hit vehicle in an accident. These laws also prohibit to increase comfort for drivers. I hope these laws will get changed.

American Trucks Look better, with the hood and such and maybe like a "real" truck.

But they are heavier, bigger, take more space (duh..) And they drink WAY more fuel then a european truck.

European trucks are superior in technology, fuel effiecency, everything.

When you need to repair something, you just tilt it over.

In an american truck you have a bonnet, and dont get to see as much, as in a euro-truck. Which makes it easier to repar a euro-truck.

Conclusion: European trucks, best!!
