btw, about your Ukrainian posts earlier... This looks like Polish, not Ukrainian. I actually noticed a lot of old Ukrainian nationalists in NYC, Mhtn speak some diverted version of mixed Polish and they call it Ukrainian. I can never understand a word of what they are saying.
There are mixed Galician Halychyna dialects spoken among the old timers. Most of Western Ukraine now speaks more literary Ukrainian based on the Kyiv-Poltava-Cherkasy dialect. There are some Polonisms in the Galician dialect.
So why they are Ukrainian then? This looks like Ukrainian culture is not homogenic and the difference btw those that live in Eastern/Ctr Ukraine and Western is higher than the one between the Eastern Ukrainians and Russians(bc seriously most of my Russian friends understand Ukrainian, not even talking about my Belorussian frnds- they pick up everything). Even in Russia they had a lot of accents/old words which are similar to Ukrainian in different provinces.
They are very COMPLEX. First you have East Slavs which includes Ukranians, Belarus, and Russians. Then you have West Slavs, which include Czechs, Polish, and Slovaks.
Then you have the South Slavs such as Serbs, Croats, and Bosniaks.
They are different on religion and culture. The West Slavs based their language on Latin. East on Cryllic. And South on a combinations.
And the Slavs mixed with many groups especially when they were running around in the final hundred years of the Western Roman Empire mixing with each other and mixing with Germanic tribes like the Visigoths and Ostrogoths.

There are mixed Galician Halychyna dialects spoken among the old timers. Most of Western Ukraine now speaks more literary Ukrainian based on the Kyiv-Poltava-Cherkasy dialect. There are some Polonisms in the Galician dialect.

They are very COMPLEX. First you have East Slavs which includes Ukranians, Belarus, and Russians. Then you have West Slavs, which include Czechs, Polish, and Slovaks.

They are different on religion and culture. The West Slavs based their language on Latin. East on Cryllic. And South on a combinations.
