About the whole "power metal" thing...I still don't get these new genres we have now. We used to have heavy, speed, thrash, black, and death metal and everything else was mainstream and didn't count for much. Nowadays you take a genre and add "core" to it and get a new genre. I always liked Motley Crue though.

@MPetrozzaIsGod No, but a thrash metal band making a comment about a hair metal band is still something that stands out. None of the thrash bands liked the hair metal bands except Mötley Crüe and RATT (RATT toured with Anthrax on a few occasions and Scott Ian commented that he didn't think they were bad but the make up was fucking stupid). And I prefer Slayer and Megadeth over Metallica any day. And the use of different instruments and vocal levels determines the "type" of metal a band plays.

'Edguy' was a nickname the forming members of the band had for one of their teachers at school. The name kinda stuck.
