Very cool. I worked for the Saginaw mill in Woodenville WA before it closed in 1979. There is still a mill with a boiler in Sultan WA. My family were all loggers and mill workers in the Skykomish and Snoqualmi valleys until logging got shut down for the most part.
Hello, There are a couple of steam powered saw mills in Heston Ind. One is a museum and one is not. Just check out Heston Steam museum . Thery cut my wood all the time
What a suprise, we were neighbors of Gene and Gladys for several years and his story is great. I wish the video showed more of the entire process, it is so complete. We used to burn the slab wood for heat. Gene is also a farmer, raising cows and oats and hay to feed said cows. The oats are run through a very old thrasher and the hay is put up loose. I'll keep this video forever. Thank you.
This is NOT the last steam powered sawmill in America. There is one in Brook Oregon at the Antique Powerland. I will have footage of that shortly and other users have footage of it already.

There's Sturgeon's Mill in Occidental California where they still cut redwood, and sell, so it is a functioning saw mill
