@MrGuitarboy100 Yes. On the same weekend that Nashville flooded. There was a guitar show in Leipers Fork, TN, which is an hour south of Nashville. Flooding caused an abbreviated show, and Jack was added to the Carlton, Ford set as a result. Lots of smiling throughout thee show. And that was just onstage. No tapes or video that I'm aware of.
Don't think I've heard better octave work before with the exception of Wes Montgomery. Additionally Jack makes that Les Paul sound much like a Wes approved Gibson L5. Warm, dark, finessed and soulful. Amazing!
@maxwellph - Well, I do not think so. As much as I love Roben Ford with all my heart, I believe that Jack Pearson is on a league of his own as guitar player. There is no-one, I mean literally no-one on this planet better than him. A unique musician!!
Ok, close your eyes. Do you see the beans and cornbread, the pot of coffee, the little jar of grandpa's mustard and yesterday's stained newspaper? No? Me neither. This guy is still an amazing player.
I'm just gonna vote up everything associated with this. This is so full of quality that I expect to wake up at any moment. I have watched hundreds of guitarists do their guitarist stuff, and am subject to the same silly urges to rate them as the rest of you are.
Jack uses third and fouth position chord progressions and pleasing lead playing with lots of inversions throughout each scale progression. He demonstrates many possibilities while mixing varied blues rhythms, jazz octives and gets that wonderful Eric Clapton tone. Beautiful!
Les Paul standard is the best blues guitar to my ear. Jack plays using a lot of traditional influence on both sides of jazz and pop tones. There's nothing like a clear channel tube amp and the Les Paul Standard with it's maple top and alnico pickups. Very pleasing to the ear and great for jazz too.
2 people don't like this. Well, this is my theory:
1) they are stupid kids
2) If they are adults...then I suggest that it's best if they shoot themselves. It's more honorable!!

Its an Epiphone valve standard combo. Doesnt matter to you , matters to me.

Anybody know what amp hes going through?
FriggnDiggn 1 month ago
@FriggnDiggn Whatever Gibson put on stage. I think it was an Epiphone, but it really doesn't matter, he sounds good on whatever he plugs into.

Anyone know if Jack has ever got together with Robben Ford or Larry Carlton?

what brand and gauge of strings was he using in the video? Jack Pearson is becoming one of my favorite players.

One of the very best. As with Dickey, Duane, Derek, Jerry, Kimock he not only transcends genres but goes even deeper than those genres himself.
This video's got a small fraction of Bonamassa's Gibon video. That's expected though, I guess.
Go Jack

This transcends all of that.

@tedheaberlin And from the looks of it he could play all day without repeating himself. Jack makes Lonnie Mack look like a piker. :)
