It threw up the hippo because the humans were teasing it and it knows after it eats that it cant move as well after such a big meal so it knows it has to throw up if it needs to get away. It would not have thrown up had the people not been teasing it.

Snakes are amazing, they can open their jaws 10Xs its size.
There was a story that a snake swallowed something so big, they thought it could have been a child, so they gutted it and realized it was just a pig...still pretty amazing.
