Hah, I was 8 when this was axed. I never watched it but my Mum always did and I can still remember this. I remember it's cancellation very well.

Despite never watching it and having a forever dislike for soaps, I am overcome by strong nostalgia. It's wonderful.

This has GOT to be the worst version of the Brookie theme tune. The 1990s version never really aged so in my opinion little reason to replace it.

It's basically the 1990 theme beefed up. It's an improvement but I prefer the original synth version from when the show started.

@garethparr I agree, the original version was softer and warmer. the 90's version had a very hard 'dead' sound to it. I was never a brookie fan but I remember the theme and always thought it rather a downbeat tune, but the the original 80's version is quite different to the later ones.

I'm not so keen on this version, I think the 1990s is better.

I don't like this music, its too commercial sounding like daytime tv and that guitar does not work. Should have kept the synths.

I really thing doing this was the last stra for brookside the theme is just the 1990s one mixed with the 1997 Lost weekend beging

I'd say yes. It sounds as if they've kept the backing track from the 1991 -2002 theme and replaced the main sounds,

Ive just had a quick look and I cant find him neither, he was definetly advertising on there though, perhaps hes got into trouble for copyright or something. My friend is downloading me the lost weekend and friday the 13th from a website she goes on.
