Ha, go on any of the browser market share rating websites and you will see why Safari is far behind IE, Firefox, and Chrome. If you are a Windows user using Safari, then it puts you in the minority group. No offense, but that's what it is.

@astronivo20XX safari really isn't meant to run on windows..even the newest version as of within one month ago. although it runs fine. it lags behind on webpage loading speed compared to chrome and ie9. I couldn't care less about market shares. that doesn't mean shit to the consumers either. they want speed, dependability, stability, compatibility. chrome gives that. firefox has done it well too trading licks with chrome off and on.ie9 is pretty good however it's funny that they copied chrome

Internet Explorer is just history on my computer, even when I reinstall windows IE is just flooded with crap on the toolbar. Firefox is similar however I have noticed improvements. I personally use Opera or Safari, depending on what I am doing because there are some things each browser doesnt like - This is why you use multiple Web Browsers.

well it depends, if you can find your control panel in your computer you should be able to find an uninstall page, once there just look for opera. and poof, its gone. but i love opera. just give it time.

for quick stuff: SRWare Iron. it's a Google Chrome derivative, minus all the controversial privacy-violating stuff.

Chrome (& its forks) = the fastest browser there is (unbeatable javascript engine, starts up faster than Opera etc.).

maxthon still has the slow IE javascript interpreting engine. i am a long-time firefox user, but i've recently been switching to opera on most of my machines because firefox just seems to get buggier/slower/bigger even since somewhere around version 2.5 or so.

what I definitely disliked about Opera was the lack of an adblocker (it's either some user scripts, or blocking content manually).

It also annoys me that they packed it up with some nonsensical features, such as the option of setting sound files to be played when you launch/exit the browser etc. (really what's the purpose of it? who needs that?)

OK I tried it - always love to test new programs...

1. no adblocker

2. I went to the add-ons page to get one, but I can't figure it out because it's all in Japanese. no option to switch to English in sight

3. it intercepts ctrl+arrow shortcuts (even after it asked me if I want to use Firefox keyboard shortcuts, and I said yes) - even inside of this textbox as I'm writing this post, pressing ctrl+left arrow doesn't take me one word back, but switches me to another tab!

Since I use Firefox I have 90% less virusses addwares etc etc... a lot less problems! So I used it ever since for years now. I tested opera and many others firefox had good java shockwave mediaplayer ..... support and WORKED while other browser were a pain and failed. Today I am going to download and test Safari since I heard great comments about it. No no chrome for me I hate monopolies.

well on the original beta of safari 4, the new tabs were opened at the top bar of the window and not below the bookmarks bar and for some reason they changed that....idk why, so i do agree that does eat up some space. but i used firefox for a week once and it eats up a greater than or equal too amount of webpage real estate than safari does...idk its all personal preference.
