  • Does sound great!! I am about to recieve my TS808 in the mail shortly. im sure ill fall in love. By the way.. tell me if im wrong, but i sense a bit of Andy Timmons in your style. Are you a fan by any chance?

  • @Clacy0002 hey mate, thx for your nice commnent! Honestly...no, no Timmons fan here. You can't go wrong with your TS808, I bet :)

  • Question: if I wanted to add a light touch of gain to my clean channel (coming from a marshall jcm 2000) could this pedal give me those hendrix/frusciante style tones?

  • @PGROSYE02 yes! imho you can't go wrong. Try a TS9 as well, they sound similar

  • or is your hall's echo?

  • @joseeduardosn Boss DD3 is the echo you hear :)

  • Are you playnig with Reverb??!!!!

  • @joseeduardosn there's a little bit of Amp's reverb

  • great melody... cool solo... i like it

  • @JAMLet74 Thank you so much Jorge! Ciao Ste :)))

  • and how do u set the tube sceaner ?

  • @jacktheguitarman I don't remember, but I guess: volume & tone at noon, gain maxed

  • @ciclosonico does that sound better than the overdrive channel of the amp?

  • @jacktheguitarman it sounds different... "polite" and compressed, a kind of singing voice with a strong nasal mid bump. The amp sounds open, fizzy, but gets muddy when you crank up the gain. Very different beasts. It's easy to find a TS808 in every guitar store, let's try one and have fun :)

  • how do u set ur delay?

  • @jacktheguitarman I can't remember, but I'm used to set my DD3 this way since years: level & feedback at 10:00, delay time at 2:00 (L.800ms)

  • @ciclosonico is it in the effects loop?

  • @jacktheguitarman No because Fender's fx loop is a total SHIT so I went: gtr > TS > delay into the clean channel

  • @jacktheguitarman I guess these are designed to push the preamp stage of a tube amp into drive, so it should not be used in effects loop. Am I wrong?

  • @ososturk i was talking about the delay- if it was in the effects loop- but you are right about the ts808

  • that is so insane, great job!

  • @nickusa317 THX Nick, "insane" sounds like a great compliment to me :)))

  • very inspiring!!! absolutely beautiful jamming. very similar tone i get with my princeton reverb and 57 reissue.

  • @sillydillydokieo THX mate, thanks for these very kind words! I saw your videos, your princeton and 57 sound GOOD, I like the fuzzy lady too. Ciao

  • nice man , sounds great

  • @davefistr Grazie Dave! :)))

  • that model, \

    Fabio Brasil

  • that screamer?

  • @Fabioapf Uhmmm... yes it screams, you bet :)))

  • Sounds great. What scale/key were you playing in?

  • @BOULDERDP Thx mate! Basically I was playing in D major scale & pentatonic stuff :)))

  • Hey Im lookin for a overdrive pedal that will boost my clean tone without giving me a lot of distortion. Is this pedal good for that?

  • @dclaytonw This pedal cuts the highs and the lows. If you need a boost that respects your clean signal at 100% TS808 isn't the best choice. Anyway this pedal sings in a nice way with mild overdrive tones, I'm still happy with it. Just try it....you'll probably love it :)))

  • @dclaytonw I find that the Boss Blues Driver BD-2 does this nicely. There is also a seymour duncan boost pedal that is supposed to be transparent but I have not tried it.

  • @dclaytonw listen to vids about a fulltone OCD overdrive!! or pick the Voodoo Lab Sparkle Drive... listen to it on youtbe and make your decision~!

  • Okay buddy, this was some of the most tasteful playing I've head in great while. Ummm, it's like a better version of Eric Johnson. You have a great and natural isolation and dampening technique.

  • @hullan666 OMG it's really hard reply to such a SUPER comment!

First of all THX buddy, your words makes me very happy, thank you so much :)

Isolation & damping technique? Uhmmm, I guess it's because I'm playing with a simple overdrive: less gain = less isolation problems, isn't it?

EJ is unreachable, I just played slightly inspired by him...

    Ciao e grazie! Ste

  • What soul you have!

  • @pentas What a beautiful comment! Thank you mate :)

  • Great tone and great playing!

  • @bmwm3cs THX!!! Ciao, Ste

  • what's the best thing about the ts808? why is it popular?

  • @serve4life Good question mate. I guess it's simply a nice voiced and singing ovedrive, it sounds sweet into any amplifier, and probably we are familiar with that sound because everybody is using it... Funny thing, I don't have this pedal in my pedalboard no more :)))

  • Sure u remind all that Eric Johnson lessons!

  • @RivasGuitar Hey guys thx for such a nice comment, these words are too kind! Grazie, ciao :)))

  • Great demo and you are a very good guitarist great licks!!

  • @cgar18 hey thank you very much for your kind comment!!! I bought that pedal and once I got back home I put it in my pedalbpard and kept jamming for hours :)))

  • Damned!! You're as good playing a left handed guitar!! How do you do it?!!

    Rob ;)

  • @robertgroove66 HAHAHA Rob you know, the webcam reverse fx helps a lot anytime I want to look like a left handed player :)))

  • Geez... I should have known!! I tried to copy you but just couldn't do it... Even bought a lefty 808 this afternoon. Man those things are very hard to switch on lol!!

    Rob

  • @robertgroove66 a lefty 808 HAHAHAHA Rob you're great :)))

  • @666gravity Hey Andrea grazie!!!

  • nice tone dude ...very EJ ish

  • @danimal511 THX Dan, I'm sorry for that terrible webcam audio quality :)))

  • i have the texas red as well with the matching cab ..... how are you liking the amp so far ?

  • the lead channel is a total shit and the fx loop is a shame, but the clean channel sounds good enough for any gigs plus some studio recordings, and I like the reverb.

Pedals sound great in the clean channel.

Definitely a good amp for the price, and I love the colour :)

What do you think about it?

  • @ciclosonico

its a damn good, solid amp ... plenty of power for any application. like you said the clean is the best thing about the amp next to the reverb.. never used the fx loop tho

but like you said the distortion isnt on par with the rest of the amp .. it does fine if all i want is a decent over drive to jam with buddies with but if im really lookin for tone then thats the last resort

i do have that cab with the matching celestion and its a close back so it adds a lot of thump

  • I use my old 2x12 Marshall 1922 when needed,

I'd like to have the matching cab :)))

"solid amp, plenty of power for any application" is the perfect description. Ciao!

  • hey man i totally agree. the overdrive makes the amp sound like it was thrown into a deep puddle of wet thick mud and dirt. in a very bad way. gross! haha the clean isint too bad tho. just a bit unbalenced

  • cavolo...*_*

sei proprio bravo, complimenti!

  • wow amazing playing, you rock dude!

  • THX Martin, ....I do hope to keep rocking for a long time :))) ciao!

  • mini eric johnson!!!! I'm gettin the ts808 hand wired. same but just better!!!!

  • Mini EJ? HAHAHAHA THX mate, I'm sure you'll dig your hand wired Tube screamer :))) Ciao!

  • This sounds sweet I have TS9DX(Ibanez).

Slight difference I know but just as kick ass.

  • Sweet is the right word, thx for comment

    ciao!!! Ste

    Ciao! Ste

  • ciao grazie mille.. e ancora ottimo suono !!!

  • ah no ho capito è l'effetto speculare della web cam..ejeheh

nice Ciclosonico...more video like this please!!5 stars

  • Only asking advice because I thought your TS808 demo sounded good. Thought you probably had a pedal board of some description. I signed up on youtube ages ago when I lived in the UK. I'm greek cypriot and I live mainly in Cyprus. Cyprus is not a great country for buying decent guitar effects and pedal boards. I'm already using a bag to carry my pedals. I will probably make my own pedal board. I believe Joe Satch & Steve Vai are Italian-American so italians do know something about rock..LOL!!

  • OMG Hertsman, your country UK is the number 1 in rock and you're asking this italian guy about pedalboards? HAHAHA here in Italy it's a miracle to find a Pedaltrain!

I use the smallest Rockbag, if you got just a few pedals it could be a nice choice.

There's plenty of good pedalborads, it won't be a problem to pick up one you like. Ciao!!!!

  • Hey ciclosonico, many thanks for your reply and advice, very much appreciated. Very pleased to read that you also like the purple plexi 800 pedal, it really is an awesome pedal. Can't wait to get gigging with my new pedal. We play lots of styles, anything from Beatles to AC DC, Guns N Roses, Metallica. Can't wait to crank it up for Back in Black and Sweet Child of Mine. I've got a Diago Powerstation PS01 Guitar Effects Power Supply, can you recommend a good quality pedal board for my effects?

  • ciclosonico, many thanks for your advice, it is greatly appreciated. I'm using a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe with a Jackson DK2M guitar, 2 x seymour duncan humbuckers. The only pedals I own are MXR micro amp and a standard Jim Dunlop Wah. Can you advise in which order I should plug my pedals in through the amp input socket? Also I have just purchased the Lovepedal purple plexi 800overdrive pedal, blown away by the sound. Are you able to advise on what order I should set my pedals up. Many thanks

  • Lovepedal rules all the way! I got an Eternity silver and a 8823 overdrive, waiting for a PP800 like yours!

    No doubts: gtr->wha->mxr (as a booster for)->PP800->amp

    You can't go wrong :)

  • Are these pedals any good for playing metal. I play anything from beatles to metallica. My amp is Fender hot rod deluxe with a Jackson DK2M guitar with twin seymour duncan humbuckers. Also can these pedals prematurely wear the valves on the amp. Does it cause the tubes to wear out quicker? Also how would I use it, should I use it in the effects loop? I also use a standard jim dunlop wah wah and an mxr micro amp pedal. The mxr micro amp pedal is okay but not really good enough. Please help.

  • Try to use a TS just to boost a crunch channel, getting more gain for solos. No Metallica with TS808.

    2) I don't think pedals wear out tubes.

    3) Fender FX loop sounds like SHIT, in any case don't use loop for overdrives, boost, preamp or wha!!!! Only effects like chorus, flanger, delay and so on.

    4) You should use your MXR micro amp as a booster, I suppose you'll need plenty of gain to play heavy metal, just search for some overdrive/distorsion box out there..... :)

    THX for comment, ciao!

  • THX hsoux33

Shawn was such a great player!!!

  • Man you are a great player... Tone reminescent of Shawn Lane (can't be nothing but amazingly good)

  • F'n awsome. Lefty too, nice.

  • THX Strat0Blues, thx thx thx!

    actually I'm not lefty... that's just a webcam mirror-like effect :)))

  • Super? OMG many many thanks to you Ed!

    Ciaooo :)

  • Super sound ,great playing :-)

  • THX yamitanomura!!!

  • Un sonido perfecto!

  • I wish! :)))

  • 0:39 sounds like EJ

  • Sounds sooooo great, i just bought a diy tubescreamer ts808, i'll try to make it in a week and see if it sound as great in my vox ac15 :D

    Bravo !

  • Merci beaucoup Willytarno :)))

I do hope it will sound sooooo great as well!

    Let me know, ciao!

  • did you finish the ts808?

    what a bout the sound?

    it's what you expect?

  • very nice

  • THX :)

  • bravissimo, ottimo suono.

  • Nice!

  • THX!

I saw in your page that you like Genesis: that's really great!

    ciao :)

  • Great sound, great playing. Influenced by Eric Johnson, am I correct?

  • THX samwelljackson!

uhmmmmm.. no doubt, there's a EJ's flavour in some arpeggios, I love the man but I'm totally unable to play his music :)))

So... ok, I'll say YES you could be correct in a certain way

  • Oh I'd say you're perfectly capable of playing his music, this video serves as evidence towards that!

  • thanks

after listening again, i realised its more eric johnson even though bonamassa got this type of sound/playing from him

i've got a mexican strat and a Fender Bassman. It's a great amp but I dont know how to get a good sound without bursting my eardrums. I've gt a TS 808 on the way aswell

  • how do do reduce the brightness of that.

ur using the bridge PU but when i use mine it sounds really "twangy" which isn't very Heavy Blues/Rock Bonamassa-ish playing

    wat wud u suggest??

    thanks

  • Hey James, I'm using the bridge+middle position!

Bonamassa sound? Uhmmm.... I'm always in trouble with my sound, so I think our search for the ultimate tone is endless!

BTW, Bonamassa's sound is hard to nail without

    1) his fingers

    2) a fuzz pedal probably into a good crunch channel

    3) volume

Everybody wants to get that blowing sound,

here in Italy in any club I have to run my 40W amp on 2, pretending to hear that holy sound come true...

I guess I'll keep on dreaming forever...

  • I'll buy a fuzz pedal someday, but at the moment I only use the TS808...

  • are you using Fuzz to ?

  • you can send away for the Jetter mail order, its about 220 eup , not cheap but perfection never is

  • Wow very nice.. I'm maybe gonna get one of these.. the sound I'm looking for is a good overdrive sound, natural, and nice to play neoclassical or blues and stuff with

  • TS808 is a classic, I'm sure it won't let you down :)

A little more gain and EQ shaping controls, and this pedal would be perfect!

  • Thanks, I don't fucking care about how much distortion; I hate to play with much distortion :)

  • Very nice playing, you style is better suited to the Jetter Gain Stage Red overdrive,

  • WOW! I just visited Jetter website, and you are right: that Red pedal sounds great!!! Unfortunately I'll never got one in Italy...

By the way, THX for your comment CIAO!

  • Very nice! You play awesome!

  • Hey grazie Colo08 :)

  • Nevermind you're not a lefty, the camera reverses the picture.

  • HAHAHA! Lefty? I'd love to be lefty like you and Jimi! ciaooooooo :)))

  • Holy shit, another lefty exists. I don't feel so extinct.

  • Excuse me... what is your set up distortion??

  • TS808: drive at 2 o'clock, tone & level at 12 o'clock

  • Good way to play guitar! IEAH

  • THX!

  • duede that sounds awesome where does the inspiration come from of what your just messing around playing there.?

  • hey Mjr, actually I guess the TS808 inspired me to play that way :)

No plans, no written music, no guitar heroes in mind... I was messing around with the overdrive sound coming out from the amp. I just let things go :)

    Thx for comment, ciao!!!

  • Lovely tone and playing, well done! Licks sound very Eric Johnson like!

  • Thanks for the comment Matt!

I saw your videos, TS-808 sounds good in your hands too :)))

    CIAO!

  • sounds aweseom! I have the same amp and a strat. I want that pedal now!

  • Get one, that pedal is DOPE!

    ciao :)))

  • hehe no way man, maybe someday, but now I have no money! I just got myself a Marshall plexi! :D You are a great player! I really like your style, kinda reminds me of Eric Johnson.

  • Nice.

  • Thats the amp i was supposed to have... but i ended up with an blues deluxe... the texas red was gone :(

  • Gone? Andy enjoy your Deluxe, it's a great amp!

    Ciao :)

  • Yeah it was a Limited amount of them in my country... Thanks! :):)

  • Nice playing bro. You always have to stop and listen to a left handed Strat.

I tested the Hot Rod Deluxe last week and ended up with a Blues Junior.

  • Eehmm... lighteningboy......actually that's the webcam "mirror" effect....sorry I'm not lefty!!!

But OK, let's stop and listen anyway :)

  • sounds heavenly. gotta get myself a tube amp with spring reverb!

  • :)))

  • hey man.

is that amp any good for vintage crunch?

    White stripes style you know?

every video ive found with it in is just slightly overdriven and clean.

I wanna know if it sounds crunchy and vintage when u shove a big muff infront of it or something!

  • Ciao Jackmole!

IMHO this amp got a Fender classic tone that's good for vintage crunch. There's another video of mine where I play the "more gain" channel at bedroom volume and it screams, check it out! Big Muff rules, I've never tried one straight into this amp, but I guess it would sound great! It's a loud amp, take care :)))

  • Ciao bellissima demo!

    Ti volevo chiedere due cose:

    1) il reverbero è dell'ampli?

    2) cos'è ciò che stai suonando?

    Ciaooo

    2) sto improvvisando random!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • too much reverb dude,,

  • Too much reverb? Have you ever stopped to think that perhaps everybody doesn't have the same taste in sound that you do? Sounds like just the right amount to me.

  • great sound man! what are the settings on the ts808?

  • Thanks Openzippers!

The settings are: drive at 2 o'clock, tone & level at 12 o'clock

    ciao :)))

  • hai il mio stesso ampli!! ...ottimo stile complimenti!!

  • Great, its amazing! wath is your insperation?

    Respect!!.

    Leif

  • Thx Leif!

Inspiration? I don't know... you tell me :)

    Ciao!
