The presumed intent to make all these stone monoliths is self defeating. Why would an 'Extra terrestrial God' capable of traveling here from 'elsewhere' and having technologies we still don't, and invoking celestially aligned architecture, need such architecture to mark mercator projection points. Wouldn't probabilty state that they would have calculated the longitude/lattitued points they would be descending to and could just use the constellations to know thier bearing.
