Wow! Thanks so much for all of the wonderful info. I really learned a lot about what kind of saddle I need,. I had no idea that there was so much to consider, but it makes sense to me now.
Hi, I really like your videos and i'm learning alot from them.
I plan on getting into reining, cutting, team roping and sorting. Because I'm low on cash and don't want to spend as much money as I have to, Iwas jsut wondering if theres a saddle that would be suitible for all of those event? Thank you:)
I placed my order a few weeks ago and I am eager or should I say hopeful that this saddle works out. Jim was amazing to deal and VERY helpful. Searching for a proper fitting saddle for which I can actually ride has been difficult to say the least. I should own stock in UPS with all the return shipping I have paid in the last 6 months. And believe me, I've tried them all...3 styles of Bob's, a Continental, Piland, the list goes on! I'll be sure to give updates. *fingers crossed*
Thanks again Larry. You haven't steered me wrong yet for I have ordered a few items that you have suggested and have been very pleased. I don't know how I got along before purchasing your split reins...The BEST I have ever owned!!!
Once again, Mr. Trocha has great learning videos. Love the dvd's I have purchased and products. You'll learn more from Mr. Trocha than others out there. A big THANK YOU!!!!!!
Hi! I'm in France, and we have so little information here, that I found this video incredibly useful!!! I'm gonna check my saddles right now and see what the problem is (my QH mare doesn't like saddles with trees, she starts bucking but just a little as soon as i start loping her...) !! thanks again!

I have the luxury to spend over a year in a good saddlery. And poeple as no idea how much a good saddle is important. I did repair many saddle that I wouldn't put my ass one it , because they where so dangerously made. Saddly I had to quite my job, because I got tire to be the pushing bag of the frustrated wife and can't effor to move or pay someone to keep learnning :(
Hi Larry: I've got tapes from Al Dunning and Bob Avila and others, yours are really fantastic--the most info for us amateurs of all the tapes I have--and I've quite a few. For anyone reading this, I highly recommend buying Larry's tapes. You won't come away disappointed in having to pay for tapes that you cannot use to further you and your horse's learning curve. This is a totally unsolicited endorsement.
Larry, one quick question. What trees were used on the two saddles? Wood or plastic? Also, do you know the treemaker or does the saddlemaker build his own?
The trees are made of wood and covered with fiberglass. For the life of me, I can't remember the tree maker's name. Maybe my friends are right, "I might be losing it" =o)
Nice video Larry. As usual, full of useful information without the fluff. I have spent the past three years getting started building saddles and getting a shop together. I appreciate you sharing what you like in a saddle and will keep it as a reference. To those folks seeing Larry for the first time, I recommend you subscribe to his email list and give his DVD's a go. Larry shows you how to get things done without a lot of the "fuzzy". Thanks again.
Larry, superb info. As I am listening to this I am hoping that the Cleburne saddle I just purchased (has not arrived yet) is all that you have described. I will be saving this and going over with saddle at side and hopefully not having to purchase another. Thanks.
Larry, excellent info, as usual. Very timely for me as I'm considering buying a new saddle for my big, hard-to-fit reining mare. Current saddle fits other horses & me great, but sores her shoulders., even with a gel pad. Do you have an opinion on CY's Flex2 Reiner? I'd appreciate your feedback.
As i live in Ireland it is very difficult to get any type of info on western saddles , now this for me is fantastic and will help me greatly to buy the type of saddle that i need.
Excellent video. I really like my Penny Gerardi by Continental Saddlery.. Have you ever tried a Continental Saddle? Curious of you thoughts about them.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed =o)
Seriously though, I'll be suprised if Jim's saddle won't work.
I've tried all the brands of saddles you mentioned and they didn't work for me either.
All the best to you.

Hi hoSSluvrz,
Yes, I've ridden one of those and the seat is way up off the horse.
Check out the website address shown at the end of part 2.
Check out the saddles listed on that site.
I personally own one and can highly recommend it.
Take care,
Larry T.

Hi Larry,
yes I think we'll be there.
BTW Don was chuckling at your story about riding that lady's horse in that poor saddle; he has also been in that situation many times!
See you in Oct.
