Hmmm, Deep Henderson. Another black band doing repertoire from the Coon-Sanders Nighthawks. As I recall, Fletcher Henderson recorded "Blazin'" and Alphonso Trent did "Louder And Funnier"
One of the most underrated hot-bands of the roaring twenties, King Oliver's savannah or Dixie Syncopators 1926-28. There were some legendary musicians from New Orleans heared,
Kid Ory, Albert Nicholas, Barney Bigard and Paul Barbarin. rec. april/may 1926 Chicago.
gotta love it! nice tuba... why did tuba fall out o use in jazz? love da muting on da horns, dual clarinetwork, barnyardstyle percussion, up tempo... so jolly!
Ace of Hearts, I think it was a British label extant on LP's in the 1970's I have their reissue of early Andy Kirk Clouds of Joy material from 1929-30. Stunningly remastered for the time.
