A week of U2 on Letterman was exactly what I needed after getting layed off from my job. Their new record is genius in that they take chances and are never afraid to break new ground. What a great blessing they are to music and political awareness. You can disagree with them all you want but they made millions of young people think and get involved in life. If I wanted to provoke U2 fans, I would make fun of stupid madeup names like Bono and The Edge. But really, the guy's playing is nothing but really simple licks drowned in effects. Take away the reverb, the delay, the echo, there's nothing left.

Leno and Daly are painfully bad. Conan rules all, except for Jon Stewart. Colbert and Kimmel rate high as well. Letterman and Ferguson are average. With Fallon, it's too early to tell if he can shake off his nervousness.
