apropo, eu am invatat engleza in romania, dar o vorbesc unde vreau eu, pentru ca pot. tu nu.
It's all relative. Holland, Sweden and Switzerland are all important countries in the world regardless of their small population. Finland's influence (5m) is hundred times bigger than Romania's. They have Nokia. But the influence of Bangladesh (hundred millions) is zero. Its not the numbers but the quality........
I don't understand and never will understand this bitter frustration. Every Central European nation learned the cathedral building from the Germans amd wine-making from the Italians. Why should I deny it as a Hungarian? I a proud of the Cluj cathedral and the tokaji wine, but I would never ever deny the fact of learning from others. Read some Rebreanu.
No, you still live in Macedonia. But you have reached Bohemia too. In Moldva you are latecomers, the Hungarian and German found cities (Iasi, Suceava, Piatra Neamt) kept precise annuaries about the population, Romanian majority was reached much later - smoothly and peacefully.
Cities can't be buildt by Romanian workers, they were mostly ciobani and farmers. To build you need qualified workers, engineers. After 1948, farmers were liberated, and Romanians moved to the cities and used the Austro-Hungarian schools with success. Many of them made great career like Vlaicu, Rebreanu etc.
waimen: romanians in transylvania were peasants, and it's true, transylvanian cities were built by germans and hungarians. the wrong fact is that u argue with a moron like smircea. he's nothing but an ignorant . he takes the punctual facts in romanian history and turns them into general stream.
in fact, romanians and hungarians are much alike: two small people in a slave ocean - hungary has an upper hand by laying near austria, but that's all.
There is no Slavic ocean, Serbs have nothing common with Czechs or Poles except language. And how can a nation with 14 Nobel prize winners be small? :-)))) In European terms, both Hungarians and Romanians are medium size nations.
For sure. Wallachs (Romanians) appeared everywhere from Thessaloniki to Moravia. Its because shepherding needs space. They were partly Neo-Latin speakers, the shepherding vocabulary is close to Albanians. So its not only Daco but maybe Thrakian roots. But Western-type state, taxation, education, public administration was buildt by Hungarians. These are facts. BUT, I like Romanians, I worked one year in Bucuresti, and I learned some Romanian too. We in Hungary don't have any hate about you.
The Daco-Roman theory is a theory, nobody has documents about it. No Daco cities, no Daco churches, no Daco diploms, no Daco universities. Ottomans never ruled Ardeal. Wallachians never ruled Ardeal, for one year rebellious Szekelys (didn't want to pay taxes) called Mihai V. into Cluj. Austria never ruled, Habsburgs were elected, constitutional Hungarian kings until 1920, so they were ruling Transylvania too.
Politically speaking Transylvania is part of Romania since 1920. Let it be so :-).
Historically it was the part of the Hungarian Kingdom for more than one thousand years (see the cities, buildings, everything). Culturally it was always a mix, belonging to Central Europe.

Dear Smircea88, Transylvania is Romanian, Hungarian, German, Jewish, Armenian and Gypsy land. These all together, this is why it was so unique.
But the film is stupid, full of Western cliches.
