No, I've done this myself... You hold your finger in front of their beak for about 5 minutes. They forget there ever was a time without a finger there. Then you slowly lower your finger to the ground and their head follows. After you reach the ground, you draw the line away from their beak and the line becomes the finger... And presto, hypnotised chicken. The hypnosis breaks when something in their vision moves and distracts them.
