  • great thanks alot very clear and practical and understandable

  • Thanks from Kazakhstan!

  • Thank you!

  • thank you for explaining this, it really helped! and it was very easy to understand! :D

  • Thankyou so much. You have saved me so much time!!!! please make more videos and I will be sure subscribe if you do.

  • if only i had found this before the test :P

  • OMG THANK YOU! I'm taking college algebra online, basically meaning I'm on my own. You don't know how much this is helping me.

  • Thank you so much! VERY helpful & easy to understand!

  • Thank u< u should post some videos on inverses

  • @619bluefish Do you mean inverse functions? If so, then go to my channel and search for "Inverse Functions". There is a video.

  • Thank you soo much :)

  • Thank you. lmfao.

  • And they say you have to get use to prof and there ability to speak english thanks man :P

  • This video helped me understand much better! Thank you for your help! math test is monday. thanks once again.

  • thank you so much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • what do you do when their is no negative to factor out of the f of x when looking for negative f of x

  • @jeanniex0x0 We can always factor out a -1. For example: 2x-9 can be rewritten as -1(-2x+9).

  • how to determine if it is symmetrical?

  • This is wonderful! Thanks a ton!

  • I paid $190 for a textbook that made this super confusing. My goodness, youtube is amazing. Thank you!

  • Thanks man!

  • THANKS!!!

  • thank you man!

  • Thanks a lot.

  • great stuff very helpful

  • what about 2x(x-1)(x+3)(3x-1)

  • thanksss

  • You freaking rock, man. I honestly have no idea why public schools don't use videos like this for instruction in real math class.

  • you're gold dude

  • Thanks duuuuuude

  • Has anyone ever told you you sound EXACTLY like Casey Affleck? P.S. Great video.

  • need hamburgeres

  • @kristijanadrian For the common student learning pre-calculus, neither is a valid answer. You may be correct, but that won't help you with doing a test for a pre-calculus teacher.

  • he said "kike" at 2:20

  • @kristijanadrian The concepts in this video are just for 2-dimensional functions plotted on the xy-coordinate system and only related to symmetry about the y axis or the origin. Thus a function can be neither even nor odd. But more importantly are the definitions of even and odd. Based on those definitions, there are functions that are neither even nor odd.

  • How can you determine algebraically if the function is symmetrical across a certain line, eg. x=2?

  • OMG...my teacher made this appear to be like rocket science, this guy is FANTASTIC! Thank goodness for you tube and people who can really explain a process.

  • what if it is in factored form with a degree of 5 or 6?

  • @fagg121213 It doesn't matter if the function is factored or not, or that it is even a polynomial function. What matters is that we need to find f(-x). If f(-x) simplifies down to f(x), then the function is even. If f(-x) simplifies down to -f(x), then the function is odd. If f(-x) simplifies to neither of those two things, then the function is neither even nor odd.

  • thx

  • damn finally a person that can explain this well!!!! jeeeez.... thnx a lot sir

  • thanks.

  • A M A Z I N G

  • Thank you! :D

  • My teacher never explained this to us, she just gave us work and expected us to know it. (=_=)

lmao, thanks so much by the way.!

  • Thank you! def helps!

  • thanks

  • Extremely helpful.

  • Dude.... thank you so much. You are so much better at explaining this stuff than any of the T.A.'s at my school.

  • thanks a lot bud

  • oh man, this was exactly what i needed

  • HOW ARE YOU GONNA DETERMINE BASED ON THE GRAPH?

  • @linda83514 If the graph of is symmetrical to the y-axis, then it is an even function. If the graph is symmetrical to the origin, then it is an odd function.

  • thanks you so so so very much. you have shaved like 2 hours off my study time, and probably helped me get an A on this test :)

  • Thanks!!

  • I seriously wish u were my teacher

  • i have a test on all this and you explained it a heck of a lot easier than my teacher :) thank you!

  • Thanks!

  • Thanks a ton!

  • Thank you sooooooooooooo much for your help.

  • yessss. i get it! thank you :)

  • honestly im an advanced student and nobody simply told me 'plug -x in, if its the same thing it was, its even. if its the opposite of what it was, it's odd. if it doesnt match either, it's neither. a very easy concept commonly made difficult.

  • Thank you, very helpful:)

  • gosh, my teachers made this so complex. this video helps a lot! thanks :)

  • Good Video... I have a test in 30 minutes and wasnt too clear about even, odd functions and this helps greatly!

  • simple straightforward and easy to follow

    nice video

  • thanks

  • Thank you for explaining it so simply!! My teacher's good at making things a bit confusing.

  • I LOVE YOU

  • Thanks a lot dude. it seems like im actually learning more on youtube than i do in lectures

  • THANKS A LOT

  • This is amazing. Thank you. I am so tired of math teachers making everything so much harder than it needs to be. Thank you for making it easier.

  • love you! i also love the type of numbers you used...not tooo simple! (well atleast in my opinion lol)

  • thank you this makes everything seem so much easier

  • Great video. Thank you for your help!!

  • This was so helpful!! Thanks for the video.

  • this is the best explanation video ever
