This really failed, i got a brand new lenovo from school, and one day i was gonna move it, and i softly grabed the plastic frame right under the screen, and the screen cracked, and became unusable

This is rather to emphasize the active protection system, that protects the hard drive by parking the head and stopping the disk if it is detected that the computer is dropped. If you drop a thinkpad while it's on from 25 feet, the computer itself would have some damage that renders it unusable, but the data would most likley be intact because of the active protection system.

I tripped over the power cord to my old Thinkpad 2628 which sent it flying off the counter. It hit the floor with enough impact that one side of the keyboard popped up, and the bezel around the screen popped off and was hanging by the screws at the bottom. The unit was on when it happened, and once I snapped everything back together, everything is back to normal. I hope my new 2242 is as tough.

Maybe they should give their indestructible laptop to an elephant, tiger and then shoot it with a .22. If it survives that, then you can call it a well engineered laptop.

I don't get it, the laptop never hit the floor and they never showed the laptop's condition afterwards. The man was holding and protecting the laptop the whole time, so how is that a test? For all we know it won't power on.
