a stock USDM FD is rated at 255hp which translates to about 220whp. Stock FD's average a 14.1-13.8 at best.

back between 93-95 if you can run a low 14 to a high 13 your cars is pretty fast. even today not many cars can do 13s without mods. this fd knocked almost a whole second off that time with simple bolt-on mods that can be had for as little as $2k for good condition used parts. you cant even make an extra 20hp without spending almost $1500 today

@tommykinglau its not that easy. go shopping for a decent FD, now find these parts; fuel system (price out a complete system), turbo kit, exhaust, ECU, find a shop that will perform the install as well as tuning

you'll quickly find yourself in over $6k in the hole JUST to make a decent amount of power. and thats not to include the other parts you'll want to be putting in.

@SickG6 a stock FD does 14.1-13.8...... a 13.0 is not bad for a bolt-on mods. the 114mph trap suggests it would be a solid 12sec car, but look around the comments some more and you'll see a friend of the rx7 mentions it has issues and with those issues it still does a decent time a the track on an ailing transmission and turbos.

Well hard to tell on the launch but shifting sounded slow. Not hatin on ya with the rx7 but don't you have to sign some papers or fill stuff out to race at a drag strip cuz I don't think you can just randomly race. Just thought i'd point that out. 2. if its a GS/Spider - than its a 4G64, which is a 12-Valve Inline-4 Cyl. Engine, with a stock 164HP(US)...

3. Even at 15psi boost, the 4G64 can only match 314HP....

the 3rd Gen. RX-7 has a FD3S 200-267HP Rotary Engine. The stock Turbo Model Nearly putting out 270HP, with tuning, CAI and Exhaust you could get 300hp. Advantage RX7
