he looks like the singer, from a group called " armed forces " don't know the vocalist off hand. in the very beginning of the video, that's who i thought it was. look up the song " take on the nation ". compare the two looks.
Cam is a great guitar player and song writer! I'm lucky enough to live in his home town and have seen him numerous times since the 80's. I remember them as Warrior. Check out their new Album, it is amazing! Especially in a world with no good bands left. If Pretty Boy Floyd is out touring, that should tell how bad the new bands are! White Wolf still is relavant today. Waitinf for more new material!!! Thanks Don and Cam!
Me too. I had just gotten back from the mall with my mom and bought some 45s. I was so anxious to play them, I forgot to open the door for her and she was outside ringing the doorbell holding a bunch of bags.
Fuck all those who hate so-called "hair bands"!!! I ask all these haters: have they ever heard of a D-arpeggio or the mixolydian scale?? Most hair bands knew the mixolydian scale like the back of their hands. And they cud play the D-arpeggio at 100 bpm. Name one emo band capable of that. There's none. There are two kinds of music critics in the world: those who haven't played a lick in their lives and those who have played an instrument. All hair-metal haters are of the former kind. FUCK U ALL!!
here here!!!! ive been playing since 1965 off and on depending on my time. Everything from jam session partys to small gigs. After the 80's a lot of music went down hill with bands whose names i wouldnt even mention in mixed company. And how long can you listen to rap or hip hop and not here the same electronic beat over and over and over and over again and again and again--well you get my point and if you dont like the man said youve never played a lick.
These guys kick serious ass. I'm trying to find a comparison, but all I'm coming up with is a bit of Saxon's Biff Byford on vocals. Tight rhythm section--this band rocks. Why didn't I hear about them twenty years ago when I was fanatically devoted to this kind of music?
cynikal- MTV airplay meant A LOT in that decade. i saw this at 2AM on MTV. it was the first and last time i saw the video. i think the lead singer was in studio and spoke briefly with the VJ (may have been martha). it might have been a pre-recorded spot, though, and not live at 2am.
dvs - i wasnt a big fan of the more popular hair metal bands: couldnt stand def leppard! whitesnake to me had some killer songs, but i didnt like their entire albums...but at the time, these bands kept rock music alive in the ever-growing world of synthetic drums and vocal-dominated entertainment (like madonna, et al). i hate the term "hair band". if their music was good (Dio, Dokken, Metallica) then so be it. i didnt care how they looked- the hair didnt mean they didnt suck (Crue, Poison, etc).
dvs: one day if not already, they will be saying the same thing about emo and all the other pop music out there. Emo is the same power ballad crap they drew up in the 80s but with more tatoos and different makeup.
Emo has survived alot longer then the 80's hair bands so far. It's the blatant cheesyness of the hair bands look and mostly music. You have to acknowledge the music of the 60's and 70's have stood the test of time. 80's hair bands were too blatantly cheese ball to survive.
Peel the glue bag off your face there boy. Were you even alive in the eighties? That eighties cheese lasted well into the early nineties. Def Leopard, Whitesnake, White Lion. A lot of that was still going on in the early nineties though waning in popularity with the advent of the so called Seattle scene. EMO is NO DIFFERENT. It's the same bleeding heart, woe is me crap that went on back then except with a new label. Listen to some of the 50's ballads. Same crap. 60's? Lots of crap.Always will be
That's brave. Y'know. I'm not even "defending" White Wolf necessarily. I'm just saying that they are a victim of the times just as so many bands are. They try to do what will make money. Look at Celtic Frost. They used to be one of the heaviest bands you'd ever hear. In their late career they were no better than these boys with the exception that these guys actually wrote a couple of catchy tunes.
Now take a good look at the EMO bands. Are they any better? No. Same crap. Marketing CRAP!
I don't care about the video, this song is COCK! Bitchin' production and a memorable, ass-kicking chorus. Close your eyes, forget about the look and put value in the music.
MMM- who knows why some bands make it and some dont? i have this on LP and will someday get it on CD. i havent heard it in about 20 years-- trust me, its a good album.
I love the rhythm of it. The hairstyle is so bad it's awesome. The frontman looks and behaves like a wrestling star. I wonder what I guy like him is doing nowadays. Cool to see some forgotten stuff like this. Thanks for uploading. I like it.
I bought this cd years ago and loved the song "She." I could't believe "White Wolf," had a video for this song--to cool. "She," is really enjoyable video...I wish they had played it years ago, but its cool to find it on "You tube." Does anyone remember the group "Talon?..." they had a song "Vicious game," was there ever a video for that song?
