I think it is cool that they are starting to FINALLY bring back stories from The Wizard of Oz. I loved the 1939 film adaptation. The only thing I am not sure is how all of these films are going to work? There is The Witches of Oz, which doesn't seem to really capture the essence of Oz. Then there is Dorothy of Oz with Lea Michelle. It seems cool, but I think it should have been an actual movie, not an animated film. And then there is Oz: The Great & Powerful which centers around James Franco...
I'm not sure I quite understand the story of this movie... I think they should make Wicked a movie musical casting Idina or Lea as Elphaba and Kristin as Galinda:)

What, so now we can't ever say 'witches' and 'Oz' in the same breath if it doesn't involve Wicked? Come on.
I apologize for that last sentence.It should've said an improvement over the effects depicted in Return to Oz.Moving on.Nothing against Return to Oz,the film still holds up after 25 years,but some of the headless effects are dated.If you look closely you can still see the matte lines around her disembodied head whenever she's holding it or placing it in one of her cabinets.This is not a criticism of the film.After all, it was shot before computers revolutionized the effects industry.
I'm excited to see Mia Sara in another fantasy movie!I was shocked to learn that she was playing Princess Langwidere.Did anyone notice her extra heads at the 1:38 mark?You definitely have to pause it to see them.She also wears one of them at the 2:22 mark.If you notice throughout the trailer,Mia can be seen wearing an unusual collar on her neck .That's how I could tell it's her.Hopefully,the special effects for her head swapping will be an improvement the ones depicted in Return to Oz.
This looks good. At first I was worried that it was a Tim "self-indulgent twat" Burton production. I am relieved to know it's not.
