As a Minnesotan/American, I would like to apologize for the actions of the TSA officers and let you know that we (Minnesotans) aren't all assholes. Hell, Minnesota is basically a mini Canada.

In other more cultured countries......like any that I can think of......people with small children, handicapped...etc....get to go to the front or have their own line. But not in America.
I don't want to say the people in customs being douches like they are is justified, but they have a fucking reason. We've done as much as we can to stop things like 9/11 from happening again. The way I see it, if you gotta strip someone down that looks suspicious in order to save 3,000+ people, then fuck their "comfort".

my sentiments exactly, i flew to philly PA to transfer to baltimore MD. customs officer in philly was just a joke. " why are you here? " " er i'm on holiday " " have you only got one bag? " " yes. " " well what you gonna do for clothes? " and i think this reply is what got me sent to secondary inspection :P " my friends have a washing machine?... " " go through to secondary inspections " they go through all crap and then phone my friends and they clear me.
@darkmetallica however this year, i went straight to baltimore and the customs guy was real nice, did his job with manners. asked me what i did for work, asked me to make sure i had enough money for my stay etc the usual stuff but did it real nice.
so i made sure to say " have a nice evening " they really should have a way of commending CBPO's like them
Having to get a visiting visa simply to get get onto a connecting flight baffles me. I was always until the impression that once you have gone through customs of an airport you are in 'International Territory', and seeing as you do not pass through customs whilst getting onto a connecting flight you haven't technically entered that country.
I know a few countries that require VISA's like that. Mostly anyone that is big for mail order brides or terrorism have to do it. But the whole thing is ridiculous, that should all be taken care of from the government when a passport is issued to travel, in case of things like this.

I hate the TSA as much (or more) as anyone, and I definitely think the VISA thing is bullshit, but they want to check your bags because you're still flying through U.S. airspace, and want to make sure you don't have anything the U.S. deems a "weapon". if a malicious individual could leave some third world country with no airport security and get a layover in the U.S., they could theoretically walk onto a plane with a gun, hi-jack it, then crash it into something on U.S. soil.

I flew recently, within the states, and was treated like a terrorist because I had my PS3 in my backpack. TSA flipped out and had to scan it three times, and throw all the stuff out of my backpack and poke around. That's just how they are.
I don't think there is any sort of degree/qualifications to be a TSA officer, so as long as you pass the interview, they'll hire you. That's one issue with the people. And another, I imagine that their job is pretty sucky, so unfortunately, some officers might take it out on travelers.
Another issue is you're traveling through the US right around the tenth anniversary of the September 11th terrorist attacks. We're probably still on high alert for another attack.

As an American who has had the privilege of traveling all around the world, I have to agree that our TSA officers are typically ignorant, inconsiderate assholes. Some airports are more lenient than others, but the main hubs are the worst. I had to fly through LAX to get to South Korea, and the hassle I had to deal with was ridiculous. Fuck you, California. Fuck you.

I had no idea that visas were required when simply transferring planes in the US. After watching your video I looked up info about it on the Internet. If you don't have a passport from one of the 36 countries on the Visa Waiver Program--or Canada, Mexico, or Bermuda--you can be sent home EVEN IF THE PLANE IS JUST STOPPING TO REFUEL!

Taiwan does that too. I flew into Taipei to transfer flights and I had to go through custom. But only difference was I didn't have to collect my main baggage. Only my carry on. In Vietnam I had to collect my baggage and I had to once again go through custom. As I was at the terminal waiting to go to another airport they called my name and I had to pay them off to let BUG REPELLENT go through. But this is in BOX that are sealed!!!!

Australia makes you collect your bags and go through customs again as well during stop overs. I had to throw away items I bought in duty free in Germany because their customs dint approve of it. It was bought in duty free for christs sake and i was just stopping over there. Horribly upsetting, so I understand how retarded that process is.

The day you uploaded this video, was our ten year anniversary of that fateful day when almost three thousand people died when planes crashed into the world trade centers and changed the way we live. I had no idea that visas were required when simply transferring planes in the US. After watching your video I looked up info about it on the Internet. If you don't have a passport from one of the 36 countries on the Visa Waiver Program--or Canada, Mexico, or Bermuda--you can be sent home EVEN IF THE PLANE IS JUST STOPPING TO REFUEL!
I'm American and all for strict security, but that's ridiculous.

The best thing about it is that the TSA has never stopped anything from happening. It's retarded that I had to throw away a sealed liter bottle of water on my last flight from washington to california but I can have as many 3oz bottles of anything. None of it makes any sense. They just want to take away our freedoms and show that the terrorists won.

HA! Reminds me when a friend of mine went to America. He went on a family trip there and after having their bags checked the Customs Officer asked "Is there anything in this bag you shouldn't have". It turns out that saying "Yeah, a bomb!" can add 3 hours to your check in time. No sense of humour!

Not because they go through customs because they act strangely are spotted and get searched before anything can happen. Taiwan does that too. I flew into Taipei to transfer flights and I had to go through custom. But only difference was I didn't have to collect my main baggage. Only my carry on. In Vietnam I had to collect my baggage and I had to once again go through custom. As I was at the terminal waiting to go to another airport they called my name and I had to pay them off to let BUG REPELLENT go through. But this is in BOX that are sealed!!!!

Australia makes you collect your bags and go through customs again as well during stop overs. I had to throw away items I bought in duty free in Germany because their customs dint approve of it. It was bought in duty free for christs sake and i was just stopping over there. Horribly upsetting, so I understand how retarded that process is.

The day you uploaded this video, was our ten year anniversary of that fateful day when almost three thousand people died when planes crashed into the world trade centers and changed the way we live. Over 1000 people were never recovered. If we loosened security it would not be a matter of IF we were attacked again, but WHEN.

That's why it should be the airlines responsibility for security, because if their security doesn't treat your right you use another airline. So they do their best because they don't want to lose you as a costumer. When the government (TSA) runs security they do what they want and treat people like shit and people have no choice because no matter what airline you fly you still deal with the same security.

My fiancé is Brazilian and I have quite a few friends that I visit there yearly. I had to apply for a visa before I left for the country and the same thing for Brazil to here.
