@SeltsamerAttraktor gah, the panel at the top threw me, bvut i guess it shouldnt now. Got xubuntu set up looking exactly like OSX with AWN and the aguamelon window decorations. now for getting the menus at the top....
@kasm279 I know that it was possible with KDE 3.5, without any hassle. In 4.x... in the early versions certainly not, don't know about 4.4, maybe. But there is a way I heard: since Plasma you can mess around with panels of all kind. There is some Qt theme called 'Bespin' and the Xbar plasmoid, if you use both - voilà. Google might help.
@kasm279 II ..if you like KDE4 of course. In case you didn't know, to give it a try you can easily install 'kubuntu-desktop' to get it on your (x)ubuntu... without reinstalling the whole OS. Just select KDE in the login screen after that.
@SeltsamerAttraktor I know how do get KDE :P Usually i install Kubuntu and then install XFCE and leave KDE there, so i cna swap between them. For some reason i can never get the Xubuntu CDs to burn correctly o.O
( Let me point you to the alternate CD. There you can install a text based system, and from there your desktop of choice over the internet. Maybe that helps in your particular case, if you don't want to install KDE in the first place. )
@SeltsamerAttraktor oh, i like having both. Thanks for pointing me, ill have to try figuring it out. I tried a Gentoo CD once and couldn't get anywhere...
@kasm279 Yes, it can be hard on the first try. A lot of RTFM is required.
Did you heard about Sabayon? It's based on Gentoo, but uses binary packages and promises to be as easy as Ubuntu and is still rolling release. Never tried it myself though.
The rolling release paradigm is quite different from your Ubuntu. There are no distro versions, and thus no OS upgrades that can break. You always get the latest stuff in the repo and can pick what you want to be up to date. I really prefer this.
Alright, i managed to get everything working as far as buttons go but i can't seem to get the joystick on the nunchuck working or the accelerometers to work.
I'm on a mac and using DarwiinRemote, am i doing some thing wrong? Should i use a different app?
By the way... if i move my mouse in one direction and the wiimote in the other i get slight resistance.
what program are you using?
