The two countries should never distrust one another....Not always agreed but we are pretty much the same with awesome differences!!! Non reflecting that which we need to fear.
Explain to me why, that we have grown so paranoid as a nation, that we can't even trust our most loyal and trusted friends the good people of Canada? I for one share a Canadian Heritage and I take an utter offense when the bureaucrats of Washington bring about a feeling of unabridged fright and paranoia heaped upon her citizen's shoulder's. What has Canada done to the United States since the war of 1812? Answer: Nothing at all.
I walked this and the gate you go thru into Canada would be the closest thing to the " GATES OF HELL" you will ever see , a rusty iron monster that has barbed wire and creeks when you go through . then you realize that everything on the Canadian side has no color . except the money ,
@eviltwin454 Actually when you enter Canada you instantly have more civil freedoms, same sex marriage, relaxed marijuana laws, lower drinking and gambling ages, etc on top of that lower crime and obesity and a longer life span. But hey its always nice to know there`s an ignorantAmerican out there like you. ps with that coloured money we enjoy next to little debt and solid banks.
Originally from Niagara Falls NY till I joined the service in 64. Use to cross the bridge many times to go swimming at Dufferin Islands which is about 1/2 mile past the Horseshoe Falls. At that time the questions were simple....... When going into Canada "Where were you born?" "Where do you live" "Where are you going" " How long are you going to be here?". When going back to US, the same plus "Are you bringing anything back with you?"
I remember walking across this bridge a long time ago. Back when the only thing you needed to do was tell the customs on both sides your nationality, no papers necessary.
that would be so cool if you live in niarga falls ontario canada you walk over the bridge to niarga falls ny to buy your groceries or just to take a stroll this is awesome if that's true
@scvs2 you need a passport, passport card, nexus card or enhanced drivers license to cross back to the US without issue, so its a good idea to have one of the above when leaving the US.
