@MadFranandfriends The first partial song is called "A Change in My Life." It appeared on 'Rockapella 2: From NY' and again on 'Don't Tell Me You Do.' The first full song is called "Flat Tire." I don't think it appeared on any of their CDs.
The original group members consisted of Elliott Kerman, David Stix, Sean Altman, and Steve Keyes. Stix left the group early on and was replaced with Charlie Evett.
Founding members Sean Altman and Steve Keyes, Charlie Evett, and non-Rockapella-related baritone Kevin Weist now comprise an a cappella group called The GrooveBarbers.
Steve Keyes, Sean Altman, Elliott Kerman, and Barry Carl have done several concerts together after all had left Rockapella, billing themselves as "XRP".
Before Leonard, before Thatcher, and not to mention that not a single member depicted here is still with Rockapella. I got into them around their PBS debut with "Live In Concert", though, so that's my favorite lineup: post-Altman and pre-Baldi.
Thank you for posting this! I loved Rockapella on "Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego?", in fact, they were one of the first ever A Capella groups I'd ever seen/heard. They were very unique, very entertaining, they were unlike anything I had ever heard at the time, and now to come across their stuff on iTunes, Youtube, etc., is just a great childhood memory coming back to me, and then some!
I use to listen to them since I was 5 when Carmen Sandiego was on for the first time and the rest seemed to follow afterwards, 'cause they were very much the shizzle^^
BTW, did you remember watching Penn & Tell on FX back in the Summer of 1999, 'cause I saw them on TV singing Zombie Jamboree on that show back then in the Boyband Era. They were a sweet group & well...they'd be the reason I got into beatboxing. Who wouldn't?
Did these four guys found Rockapella? Does anybody know their names, especially the left man's name? He's the best singer they've ever had. And something about the band's history? Thanks!!
Sean Altman(aka The dude with the mullocks(mullet/dreadlock fuse)) was the original founder of Rockapella.
The others, Elliot Kerman, Barry Carl, & Steve Keyes. They were part of Rockapella from 1991, and this was slightly before Eric Wetzelburg came into the scene that year.
Actually, Sean, Elliot and Steve were all founding members, and Barry Carl didn't come on until '89. Who is Eric Wetzelburg? I don't remember him ever being a part of the Rockapella configuration.
How can 1 person dislike this? This is what "real" music sounds like!
