back in 2006 i organized a concert in islamabad. basically it was a jugalbandi of ustaad tari and ustaad nafees..... that evening was too awsome listening two legends live. ustaad tari is a remarkable legend of all times and no doubt his efforts in music industry are matchless..... He is playing a mix of both Kherwa and Dadra at that point. You are absolutely correct.

Actually, he is playing 1.5 times speed, or 6 beats in the span of 4. Sounds like dadra, but the same lae as the original kahrva :)

4 beats is certainly most global friendly cycle. Ofcourse in India it is Aadhi Taalam (Carnatic 8 beats) and Keherwa (Hindustani 8 beats).
