  • Can't get enough of this song! THANKS FOR THE UPLOAD!

  • Fader Martin?

  • finally a good transalation of evig pint, most people translate it into something stupid it as pain forver or some bullshit

    trollolowut?

  • @TheRevantproduc thanks :)

  • VERY useful! Thank you! I'm on an exchange year in Germany (I'm American) so I speak English and now a reasonable amount of German, and I'm finding that I can actually understand a LOT of this song now, especially with the subtitles to help out. The languages all have similar roots, so it's interesting to see the differences and similarities between them. Also, I'm just excited to finally understand one of my longtime-favorite bands.

    Again, thanks!

  • I'm glad to be part Norwegian!

  • not only is the sound quality great and the movie quality acceptable, i admire the subtitles at that

    good job

  • Er Kaizers Orchestra veldig opptatt av Helvete og Himmelen?

  • @MagnusRulerHardt Metaforer.

  • @Orjmart

    So?

  • Y'know this subtiteling isn't correct to the lyrics. I know that since I talk the way they do :P and I find alot of wrong translations of this song thought :/

  • Faen er det pål trolle som har oversatt dette eller? Jikes! he he

  • I like to believe that German is a great mix of Norwegian and English. I'm norwegian, and I can speak, read, and write english pretty well, as you can see :P So I should know :) German is a great language <3

  • They are singing in a Norwegian dialect, it's not "normal" norwegian (if anything at all can be called "normal" norwegian...) So it might be even harder to understand, the dialect is called "Jærsk" btw, and it makes me very proud to be from Jæren :D

  • us finns want to be scandinavians too! someone accept us!

  • @olkiba accepted

  • im filled with ur mom

  • what language is this song in?

  • It's in norwegian.

  • norsk, min venn :P

  • I know this is idiotic and please don't burn me at the stake for asking these questions but 1: Whose Martin Luther in the picture and 2: What is the meaning? I watched it 30+ times and I still don't get it...

  • You know I'm not too sure my self. All I know is that Martin Luther was a priest or something of the Lutherans. Helge, I imagine keeps a picture of Martin Luther because he is really religious.

  • Martin Luther was a german monk who is the founder of protestantism. and the meaning depends on how you interpet it.

  • @aniol8er13 You will have to go through the entire Kaizers discography and read the english version lyrics. Try to make sense of it all. It won't be easy at all.

  • Video Meaning: Running away from something that's impossible to escape. At least that's what I get from the video xP

  • God, I love them. They're making me proud of being a Norwegian.

  • @tampong922 Du er fremdeles en tampong da.. men fett nok, kaizers er bra :)

  • I like this video a lot :) I think it's kinda funny though how they shoot him, then seem sad.

  • best music video ever. and norwegian folks who could hook me up with some real info on Kaizer's? I LOVE THEM!

  • they are livig close too Stavanger

  • Buy the book..

  • What do you mean by "real info?"

  • the way i get it is the fact that nomatter what happens hes stuck where he is with no way out or somewhere better. great song...

  • Altså. for di som ikkje fårstår sangene e d ingen vits å forklara di hellår, poenge e liksom ikkje å forstå di:P hehe!

  • Janove sings in a norwegian dialect called Jærsk. its from bergen. its something like the dialect in Stavanger. but has a slight twist.

They are great and have the coolest live shows.

I found out they were gonna play in Oslo at a place called MONO but it was to late. sold out... like always...

  • From Bergen? You mean Bryne I hope? Kaizers Orchestra orginates from Bryne, which is 25 minutes south of Stavanger.

  • Veldig Bra!

  • I LOVE YOU ! <3!

  • i don't think i'm understanding this song...

is it that he's in purgatory or something?? like he can't get into heaven and not into hell...so after he is killed he comes back to wherever he was...and then he gets killed over and over again forever?

  • The way I take it is he's in purgatory and is forced to work forever shoveling coal into the furnace but cannot get out of there.

  • Can anyone reccomend any other bands like these guys?

  • Skambankt is one. Check'em out

  • Seigmen would work aswell i guess, check Döderlein and Hjernen er Alene

  • well there isent any band like Kaizers, Seigmen is not like them , but seigmen is still one of the best band norway ever have had. The Subtitle dosent make sense tho so times, hard to describe the words if you dont know norwegian, cause of the many old word kaizers use....

  • Really cool song, and the subtitles are well done.

Må dokke hella moen me denna mesinge. Sko faen tru dokke hadde nogge i rauå.

  • 1:38. That's it.

  • I love the substance of the mood.

  • holy shit. great song.

  • Sweet of you to provide the subtitles. You did an almost perfect job on them as well :)

  • saw these guy at vages and the were amazing.

  • this is a great group

  • Well, for all of those whos learning norwegian can contact me if they need some help. Cant say im the best in grammar and such, but I am norwegian which can help alot, hehe. this song is really difficult to translate, so once more i'd like to thank OXTHEII for the awsome translation! For all those who says it sucks, shut up :)

  • Hei hei

Jeg liker norsk, men Jeg liver paa amerika

her vi har ingen bra Norske boker.

  • Well I need a little help.

How to say Lesson and Subject in norwegian??

  • Subject is, "Emne" Lesson is "Lekse, or lærepenge, depends on how you mean it in the sentence, like if its a lesson at school, you say: skoletime or undervisningstime. If its like a lesson you have to learn because you did something thats not allowed, its "lærepenge" if its a lesson, for homework or something, its "Lekse" Hope that covered it, if you ment something else just tell me ;)

  • Thank you soooooo much:)

I've just started learning Norwegian couple days ago and I've bought myself a dictionary but they've not delivered it yet:( anyway I allready think that your language is the most beautiful one:) Thank you again:)

  • Hehe no worries, just glad to help people that likes the language

  • Thx. for this video. I`ve just start learning norwegian so this video is very useful for me :)

I`m trying to translate it on my own, but I can`t find few words, maybe someone would like to help me?? :)

a spa, inn, kaminen (is it furnace)and sting for a begining?? I know I`m able to find it in video but I don`t wanna guess if I find it right. It is hard to buy norwegian dictionary in Poland and in internet dictionaries I can`t find this words :(

  • Hi, I'm Norwegian:

to "spa" is to shovel with a spade

    "Kaminen" is a furnace

    "sting" is a stitch

  • i speak icelandic and german and i nearly understand everything.. :)

  • well im austrian and i hardly understand anything

  • alle dialekter fra rogaland e evig fine! Kommer fra Bergen selv, men stavangersk e finere :) bra oversetting, morsomt med Kaizers på engelsk :)

  • hihi, stavangersk er best ;D

    <-- stolt stavanger jente her.

  • synd d ikkje e stavangersk då.. D e jærsk

  • I lived in Halden, Norway (Østfold) for couple years, and I can tell you that the dialects around Stavanger and Bergen are a little harder for me to understand even after living in Norway for quite a while. Sometimes I think it is easier to understand Swedish than the Western Norwegian dialects. Good job translating though!

  • LOVe!

  • You may think that it is kinda easy for a german guy to understand, but even though the pronunce is similar, the language isn't. I come from Denmark, and Norwegian is for me just Danish, but with problems spelling.. so it is very similar. But german is not.

  • i'm norweigan and from my experience danish is easier to read, but swedish is easier to understand:P

but hey norweigan, swedish and danish are so similar i think they could be different dialekts don't you agree?

  • I do.

And after becoming an insane fan of Kaizers, I feel that I'm getting to understand the lyrics even better. The only problem about understanding the lyrics while listening is the timing sometimes. You may have to sit with the lyrics and sing along sometimes to get it. for example in Kontroll på kontinentet: "Får min hatt, får mine sko, får mit ekstravaganza" - "mine sko" was not so easy to hear :)

  • I love to sing along with it, when I do I feel that there is a deeper meaning and so I find that I understand more of it.

  • Yep, that's because they're all Germanic languages.

  • @OXTHEII even more related than that: they all evolved from the old norse language. but that's not the complete truth either, as we (swedes, norwegians and danes) have a hard time understanding icelandic, which is essentially conserved old norse.

  • @INSANESUICIDE det kan sagtens være derfor de oprinder alle fra samme sprog

  • @TheShaaaker det er da meget åpenbart hehe, jeg syntes bare det er litt artig at muntlig er det lettere for meg som norsk og forstå svensk, men skriftlig er dansk mye lettere og forstå:)

  • @INSANESUICIDE I'm danish and I feel the same way about Norway :P

  • @MyMothersBlackJeans awesome, let's declare war on sweden!:D

  • @INSANESUICIDE agreed. danish is almost impossible to understand imo XD

  • @INSANESUICIDE

Yes, i am Finnish and completely terrible at speaking swedish but i can still pretty much translate most Kaizers Orchestra song titles. And maybe understand some random words. Sadly finnish doesn't help as its completely different kind of language :(

  • @basisti94 xpt its norwegian. Stavanger dialect to be spesific. Sung in at jæren. Look at those waves :) So fitting for this great song.

  • Well, I'm a German girl and even though there are some words that sound similar I wouldn't have understood what the song is about without the subtitles - thanks to the uploader I do now ;)

  • hehe well i can understand a little of what a german says.. if you sit and listen to a norweigan speak(or the other way around) you would somewhat understand what they wanted to explain:)

but that also depends on how good you are with languages hehe^^

  • Yup, that is Norwegian, the german language and the norwegian language is somewhat similar, that's why it's so easy for us up north to learn German, and the other way ariound.

  • yes, i hear similarities. im american, and can barely speak english let alone norwegian or german

  • this would be one of my favorite bands if they sang in english.

  • Eg skjønar ikkje kva folk klagar på omsetjingi for, ho er jo sers bra!

Kudos for you, OXTHEII. ;) <3

  • Menge Takk :)

  • is that norwegian?... i thought german was difficult somewhat. =P

  • Yep, Norwegian is a Germanic language.

So is English along with a few others

  • awesome song

i love the beat and his

voice even thou i cant really understand

    music is international

  • theres a few mistakes but hey . its hard

  • I did good yeah?

  • I think the subtitles are okay . and that comes from a girl that lives in Stavanger . they sing on a stavangersk accent, and a bit of Siddis accent too. it's pretty hard to translate Stavangersk accent if ur not from there, same goes to Siddis accent.

  • to littleme8.... that comment is so interesting. i love culture, language and such. and this song! but its hard to get the lyrics because the english doesnt go like norwegian does in those words.

  • HAHAH... the subtitle is sooooooo wrong:S

  • lies...

  • O.o oh k

  • well if you're so fucking smart why don't you tell me the words?!

  • Seems your Norwegian is not that dårlig as you claim.

  • I have my moments :)

  • Norways best live band and thats the trouth

  • I agreee with the others. The direct translation of this song doesn't really do it justice. The power of the words is in their context, as if it were a poem, but that is lost when translated. The Norwegian is far better =] Also, isn't it "who is next on the list"? not "who is next in line"?

  • Aww your welcome :D

  • it`s not " oh god let me be enternally tormented. he is singing ,and God Lets me be enternally tormented. it`s cuite the differens:)

  • Wow, the guy wearing the gas mask is creepy. He reminds of The Empty Child. Scary. It is on the dark side too, isn't it?

  • the empty child wasn't scary. none of doctor who is scary. doctor who is rubbish.

  • Agreed. Dr. Who was just plain silly.

  • I simply love this band! It's awesome! The songs are sorta dark and cool.

  • For sure! Once you learn what they're really singing you feel a bit chilled, but they're so awesome!

  • Love it! It's better in norwegian, though.

  • yeah I know! :D

  • nice job, translating the text. However, it sounds wrong ;)

these texts need to be kept in norwegian ::)

  • Oh ja I know it's sung in Norsk for a reason haha, thanks for commenting ^ ^

  • Yeah I will sometimes sing along to the parts I don't know in Norwegian and then switch over when I do haha

  • this is pretty cool, thanks!

  • :D You're welcome!
